Everything with this company is wrong. From their pricing to their service. Everything takes forever. You call them 10 times you meet to give them your full info 10 times. Their customer service is terrible. Take them forever to come out. Their pricing is sky rocketing after trusting the salesman then fining out I could have the system with 10k lower with the same material. Their solar panels have color inconsistent and it tools them 2 months to replace them with the correct one. Please do your research before going with this guys. This will be a bit of a story but I feel it needs to be told to ensure nobody else goes through it. The schedule that Semper Solaris sends out is a follows: 1. Site Assessment - 1-3 Weeks 2. Design and Review - 1-3 Weeks 3. Submit for Permits - 2 - 10 Weeks 4. Installation - 1 - 2 Weeks 5. Inspection - 1 - 2 Weeks I bought an Enphase battery system from Semper Solaris. The sales person I worked with sold them as the best installers and gave me what I considered to be a good deal. I finished signing contracts on June 6th and design began on June 14th. On June 22nd, the design was completed and I approved it. Permits were submitted on July 10th. This is where everything goes wrong. When I began this install, I already had an existing solar system that offset my monthly electrical costs by around $300. Install began on September 21st and most everything was put on the wall but the installers were unable to onboard it. A week later, I noticed my Solar System was no longer producing and tried calling support. Support was unable to tell me anything and I was left in the dark for a few weeks. Finally after sending an angry email on October 17th, I was contacted by a VP at Semper Solaris who promised to keep me updated with what was going on. Turns out that Enphase had been sending out bad hardware and a large number of customers were affected. Since this was supposedly out of their control, I asked multiple times to have my old controller back in since I was now incurring a large amount of costs with my Solar System being offline. I was told this was not possible and I'd have to wait it out. I looked at my original contract and they explicitly state that they are not responsible for outages related to hardware(this must have happened before). On November, the repaired part was finally installed and my Solar System was finally brought back online. At this point, I had incurred around $600 of additional costs on my electric bill(there goes my good deal). An inspection was scheduled and I was relieved that I was no longer racking up additional energy charges. A week later the inspection occurred and failed. I tried contacting the VP who had promised to keep me updated and still never heard back. On December 28th, I finally get a call that I could be `squeezed in` today to make the fixes for the inspection. I asked if I could schedule a more convenient time since I work from home and need power to work but was told that they didn't know when they could schedule a return. I reluctantly said yes because I'm sick of working with this company to try get what I paid for. It's fair that the issues with parts could be out of their control but the lack of communication is inexcusable. The company is happy to deduct money out of my account but I don't seem to be a priority after they have it. Having my system offline for 2 months gave them plenty of opportunity to restore it to working order before they repaired the battery. If I hadn't had an existing solar system, these timeline may not have mattered and I probably would have at least given 3 stars. Given that I still can't get a status update to this day and I'm getting squeezed in rather than scheduled to wrap up the project makes me feel like I don't matter as a customer. I hope this review helps you avoid the same problems I had. read more

I support our veterans and appreciate their service to the country, that's why I chose Semper Solaris when we were looking for solar panels and batteries. Made the appointment for the consultant to come out. Got email and text message the day before appointment to confirm the appointment. My appointment was at 2:30pm. 2:30 came and went. NOBODY showed. Called Semper and they said to wait until 4pm. Waited waited until after 4, still NOBODY SHOWED. Called Semper again. They said they don't know where is the guy that's supposed to come. Long story short, If they cannot even keep a consultation appointment or keep track of their appointments or staff, I don't know how they can deliver any decent service or quality installation, let along after-sale warranty work when needed. Will shop elsewhere read more

Where to begin. Pour yourself a cool one, this will take some telling. The inverter in my existing system stopped working in October 2021. I didn't know that until December 2021. SolarEdge, the equipment manufacturer, did, and notified the installer, Sullivan Solar, who was supposed to notify me. They didn't the result of being too busy going out of business. (Why SolarEdge didn't reach out to me is a subject for another post.) In late December/early January, I contacted Semper. They agreed to do the warranty replacement of the inverter, along with suggesting adding SolarEdge "optimizers", their name for micro inverters, to each of my 33 panels, plus install a Tesla battery. I agreed, making it clear in the beginning and numerous times thereafter, I wanted the inverter replaced immediately since without it, my system was non functioning. Two months later after numerous calls, emails, and texts asking for the inverter portion of the project to be done, I sent an email telling them I would cancel everything if they did not give me a date to replace the inverter within 72 hours. Ten days later, the inverter was replaced. Approximately two months after agreeing to add the optimizers at a cost of $7,000, the salesman called to say, "Good news, you don't need the optimizers!" I asked why? He said, "Because you already have them." Hmm. Two months earlier, Semper had someone come out to do a system assessment. That's when they discovered my system, installed prior to me buying this house, already had optimizers. Still, they went ahead as though it didn't. I believe this was an honest mistake on the part of Semper, also the first of many indications to follow of their extremely poor internal communication. Sales, customer service, and maintenance, don't appear to be talking with each other. Each time I talked with one of them, I could see they didn't know what the last department/person I spoke with had to say and/or was doing. This lack of communication increased my concern about the battery portion of the project, enough so to tell my salesperson, I wanted to cancel until I had more complete information, including reviewing the price. It's difficult to compare prices for batteries in that each purchase is different from the next depending on what other services are requested. My son bought two Tesla batteries 2+ years ago for $8,500 each. I see current prices for Tesla batteries now around $14,000 per battery, installed, give or take a bit. My price was $17,777. I asked for a price reduction, Semper refused. With that, I canceled the deal and requested a refund of my $1,000 deposit, half of which was a separate order for the optimizers I did not need. Semper refused to refund any portion of the deposit saying they had invested over $3,000 to date in my project. I pointed out I had incurred about $750 in power bills as a result of my system not functioning until Semper replaced the inverter. Furthermore, some portion of their alleged cost was due to them doing work on the optimizers that wasn't necessary since I already had them. This included paying $200 for a city permit. I offered to split the $1k deposit; $500 to them, $500 to me. They refused. If they had accepted my offer, this review would be much different. There's a lot to solar systems and if you are considering investing in one, you'll need an authorized installer to do the work. Spend as much time investigating the company you choose to work with as you do the system itself. Numerous, large, previously well established solar installation companies no longer exist, having gone out of business, the result of poorly managing their business. Tens of thousands of dollars in down payments gone. Read more of the reviews that follow mine; you'll see a pattern you don't want to experience first hand. read more

I was asked to give a positive review in order to get a discount. I was uncomfortable with this from the start and told the company representative that I would give a review based on my experience thus far! I told the representative I would add more to my review as a project commenced. In my situation there was a total lack in communication, and my sales rep was very unprofessional, I do realize this is probably the exception (meaning my experience) I would be happy to share email messages between myself and the company representative for anyone who would like to see them. UPDATE A very nice lady from the company reached out to me and tried to make things right. Including sending a site manager to my home to actually go over everything . As it turns out it was just like I thought after looking at my home the bid went up. Not that it matters but initially the bid was 36,000. Then if I would do things that the representative asked of me they would take $500 off bringing the new bid to $35,500. And last but not least after looking at my home as I insisted someone do before I signed the contract it went up another $200. Not that it is the end of the world but please keep in mind they wanted me to jump through hoops to get $500 off now I can just have the $500 off but let's add 200 dollars in extras they didn't see in the satellite imagery‍ sorry just too much Drama for me . I do see that some people have been very happy. I just wish I could've been too. To be honest with you I am really disappointed. I really wanted to work with this company. I am going with another roofing company Reliable Roofing. FAIR WARNING to anyone who decides to do business with this company or ANY company, if it's not in writing it doesn't exist. This is the second review I write for this company. I do not know what happened to my first one. My 5 stars are for Semper Solaris and especially our project manager Michael Guff. Michael Guff is truly an asset to this fine company. Our project was very complicated because of where the property sits in Laguna beach. Many things could have gone wrong. Michael was extremely skillful in coordinating all of the many moving parts of my project. He made it such a pleasant experience and handled every situation deftly. If you hire Semper Solaris to do your project you will be in good hands and lucky if Michael Guff is assigned to your project. read more

I had Semper Solaris install by solar system back in 2016 and they did a decent job and had no issues. However, fast forward to 2025 the SMA inverter module that is extremely heavy came loose from the wall inside the garage. Come to find out that it was not screwed into the stud but just to the drywall using standard anchors which gave away. Luckily it not fall to the ground ripping all the wires along with it and i had to support it using a ladder. Then I called there support line and did not get a response. Then I had to file a case using their online system after which a support person contacted me and asked me to send the pictures, which I did. A day later they said someone would be contacting in day or two and nothing happened. Finally, I had to escalate the call and was contact by their escalation manager who helped with getting a technician come out and fix it. While they did not screw it into the stud like should have been done in the first place, they used sturdy anchors and screwed it into the dry wall again and promised me that it will not come off again as the anchors are rate for 130lbs each. Escalation manager Cherice was wonderful through out the process, kept in touch throughout via e-mail, phone call and text. While I am not 100% happy with the fix, I am quite happy with the service provided by them. read more

Horrible customer service Took 7 months of me bugging them to install my power wall. The install teams are ok. They don't really have a sense of urgency though. They wanted to work till 8 or 9 pm . There is no project management whatsoever. Takes forever to get back to you etc. in the begijing they were great but they just forgot about me till I said forget it I dont want it then they scheduled me. Then they took so Long I started getting billed for the powerwall before it was even installed. They claimed they would make the first payment but nope! In the end it all got installed and works great Update. The customer service post installation has been very good and thanks to this review and some courteous staff I did get the first payment covered. They are now very attentive. read more

This is the first review I have ever written. Semper Solaris in Orange County was a nightmare to work with. Cameron was my sales rep and he had very good communication at the beginning when they were trying to get my business. After I signed the contract, he basically disappeared and would never return my phone calls or my emails. When I would contact the company, they would tell me that he is just really busy with other consultations/sales appointments and that they would reach out to him for me, which he still never returned any communication. He would pop up anytime a payment was due. For our house, we did a complete new roof, solar panels, gutters, new electrical panel, and batteries. Every individual project utilizes a different department/team that does not communicate to one another. Projects were left unfinished and when Semper was contacted, they would again give more excuses that the contractors were busy or they would return the next day, which was about 50% of the time. The roof was probably the biggest part of the project and the weird part apart the roof is that the contractors who started the roof never returned and each day would be totally different people until the project got done. There was never one single point of contact to provide me updates or for me to talk to if something went wrong. As we went through the process, each individual project you get an email saying that permits have been submitted, permits have been approved, etc. These emails are absolutely incorrect and was corroborated each time I would call them asking about the next step with them telling me that either they weren't even at that point yet or they were way past that point, even though I had just received the email with what step they're on. For every single project I had to follow up with them to see what was happening. For the roof and solar panel, they told me that they were just waiting on financing and that Cameron was supposed to have reached out to me. If it wasn't for me contacting them, nothing would have been started. The most frustrating part of Semper Solaris is their customer service. They do a very good job of apologizing and making you feel like you're being heard, but then you realize that no action ever gets taken. You have to follow up with them multiple times to finally get a straight answer or talk to somebody that is actually willing to help in order to move the project forward. The company did absolutely nothing to try and remedy any mistakes. I am not asking for them to do the project for free, but I think there should be some kind of reduction in the total contract price for not finishing when they said they would or causing additional damage to the house without returning it back to its original state. If I could go back in time I would not use Semper Solaris. I would strongly encourage you to look elsewhere. If you do decide to go with this company, give them a set project completion date that you both can agree on and then put in your contract that the total project price will be much less if they don't finish by that date. We opened the contract in June of last year (2021) and we are still waiting for the backup batteries to be installed. read more

Semper Solaris did a good job installing our solar cells and equipment, along with two Tesla Powerwalls and new concrete tile roofing in the area where the solar cells were to be placed. The salesperson, Paul Wallach, helped identify the number and layout of the cells on our roof, the 2020 year end timing requirement as well as working through a number of other issues with us. He was responsive to our requests for more details as well, as we were very particular that the solar equipment not be visible from the ground level house front or sides and no piping or wires be put on the walls of our home. Our critical objective was to take full advantage of the solar credit due to expire at year end (before it got extended). Paul worked with us to ensure all that would happen, although as it happened the Tesla Powerwalls were not able to be installed in time (no harm though as the credit ultimately got extended!). One item that became a material issue was that we were supposed to get to see a physical sample of the concrete tile to be installed on the roof elevation where the cells would be placed - so as to compare the to the existing clay tiles which remain on the balance of our roof. We never saw the physical sample (only a small postage stamp picture among many online) and we thought the coloring was wrong, but were told this was the closest they had available. In the rush to get the solar installed by year end (before the solar credit was extended), a truckload of the new concrete tiles were dropped at our home (no preview sample was provided) that didn't match at all color or style wise with the balance of our roof! We tried to get them substituted, but were told we'd have to pay a large restocking fee and risk losing the year end credit if we insisted on substituting the tiles. So, to preserve the year end credit, we agreed to accept the mismatched tile provided the new tiles (located on the rear elevation of the house) could not be seen from the front or sides of the home. Semper ultimately did this (we had to insist that the roofing contractor to install the old clay tiles along the fascia to attempt to match the balance of the roof, which he did and it worked out in acceptable fashion. We also requested that the electrical piping installed in our garage to serve the powerwalls and solar be run inside the garage walls (instead of on top of the drywall) and we agreed to pay to repair and paint the drywalls after they installed them. This took longer for them to do, but they didn't charge me more for doing it, and we avoided a junky looking mass of pipes in our recently remodeled garage! Semper worked with us throughout the extended (6 mos plus!) install process and ultimately got the job done - they cleaned up after their work, repaired any damage to our property and were professional. Also, the San Diego office had customer reps who called frequently and discussed scheduling of the various tasks, etc. so we knew who was coming and when (roofers, solar install, electrical, powerwalls, etc.). We would highly recommend Semper Solaris to anyone wanting a single company that accepts all responsibility for the installations, does have customer service and strives to meet expectations of its clients. read more

Overall, I am extremely pleased with Semper Solaris services. One of my main and initial contact person was Scott Gage , who was extremely thorough. Constantly followed up with me and make sure everything going according to the books and in perfect fashion. He helped me through the entire thing including financing, Installation, inspection, homeowner association, approval and final inspection. My initial sales experience with Scott Gage was outstanding. Very informative and caring. read more

I don't write many reviews but feel it is necessary that I provide my experience so those considering Semper Solaris as their Solar Provider will be informed to not make the same mistake I did. I started this journey as most of you do by researching all the companies in a competitive space to make sure you are making the right choice. I met with Several companies and had it narrowed down to a very well known business that has been in the solar industry longer than anyone else nationally. However; there were some appealing things about Semper Solaris at the time that I appreciated and being a Military Vet myself; that was important to me. I was then persuaded by free Tesla 2 Power Walls as part of the package; that made it hard to turn down and giving back to my military brothers and sisters would have been a good choice so I made the choice to go with Semper Solaris. Well...I started this project with Semper Solaris in September of last year with the promise that I'd have Solar Panels and batteries before the end of the year last year so I could take advantage of the Solar Tax credit. Here I am at the end of March the following year with nothing to show for. Had the government not extended the Solar Tax Credit for another 2 years, this would have been a huge disappointment as the Tax Credit was supposed to go down significantly in 2021 which was another selling tactic by Semper Solaris, bullying tactic really. If it weren't for me calling and emailing their customer service; I would have not gotten the information they were sitting on for almost a month...so I was told. They were aware that I was not able to get the batteries and that the State Rebate ran out so now I was left with nothing but a work order to now have to pay another 10K... I'm no business man but I do understand dollars and cents, doesn't take a genius to know that is not how business should be done. The problem was; I was setup for failure from the get go and a design that was over provisioned. That information should have been communicated to me as soon if not within the week this information was given to Semper Solaris. This should have been taken into account if the selling point is getting free batteries instead of designing an over provisioned system that I can only assume was in their favor not mine. Now...after communicating all of this to customer support, texting the Sales Person whom I would never hear back from and customer support not answering emails and if they did or if I were so lucky to get a call; it was the same old thing, we will talk to the sales person, we will forward the email to the sales person, we are sorry you are going through this experience...we will get this resolved...blah blah blah. I have not seen any action or communication to me on how to get this resolved and that was over a month ago. Remember; I started this project with Semper Solaris in September of 2020 and March 2021 is coming to an end so it's been 7 months and nothing to show for. It has been a complete waste of time filled with frustration and disappointment. I know had I gone with the company I was just about to hire; I would not be in the position I am in today...I have had absolutely nothing done and my neighbors around me who started after me already have panels up and running on their roofs. I'd give 0 stars to Semper Solaris if I could My advice to anyone considering Semper Solaris; I would highly recommend you do your research and find another company...don't make the same mistake I did. read more

I looked at reviews of this company compared to others to make my decision and for product I was right but service lived up to all the others - One installation is complete you're dropped like a rock!! The install... all perfect but had issues with the monitoring which took months to correct and this was either the Sunpower or Semper Solaris??? I never got the true answer but it was corrected. BUT I have is with the design of the layout of panels which at first I approved but since my HOA doesn't like the design after the fact now has to be changed. Here in lies the problem, I have called and emailed multiple times to have a simple correction made to the design and they have promised multiple times to call back or email back but they never do. Now with out response and promised corrections I have been fined by the HOA and access restricted because i cant get the problem resolved which is so simple! Still waiting a response!!! read more

Since I've had the panels for over 2 years now I'm updating to say that they still work great. No issues at all so far. And my electric bills have dropped to the point where Edison pays ME at the end of the year (this year the check was about 50 bucks). I've not added an electric vehicle to the home, so don't expect more checks from Edison, but I'm glad to have these panels to greatly offset any power costs from recharging my car. read more

About 1 hour after I posted this review corporate called me and assured me they would get involved and help get things finished up...haven't heard anything since that phone call. Three days past when she told me she'd get back to me with an update. I've been through this before with them...we've done quite a few projects through them (yes, we're not real bright apparently ). Semper solaris does not run their business effectively. The entire inner workings just don't work. Everyone you speak to seems to be trying their best, but then nothing happens...it's truly impressive. No follow through. No communication amongst employees and contractors. No updates or contact to the customer whatsoever. Don't let these review responses they post on here fool you into thinking these issues are being taken care of. I can assure you it's all talk and no action. It's quite interesting that their response is basically the exact same thing for everyone posting bad reviews..."corporate is already working with this customer " (acting as though the customer is not justified in their complaints). They literally have corporate call you within an hour of a bad review and them stamp this review response...meanwhile...they were never heard from again. read more

Do not use this company! I have now been waiting for over four months to get the solar finished on my roof. After cancelling on me multiple times I finally had all of the panels installed several weeks ago but they continue to refuse to schedule actually turning the system on. It is all just sitting there doing nothing and the loan payments are due. I bought this so I wouldn't have an electric bill. Now I have two electric bills! Their customer service is nonexistent. The company they do their financing through does not have a clue. Their salespeople will sell you the system and then disappear. This has been a complete disaster and I totally regret ever deciding to use them. read more

I have to split this review up, but overall I give it a 5. First, Kevin Trafford was a pleasure to work with in terms of understanding what our needs were for solar. I also mentioned that I needed some vents in the roof to dissipate heat since our house gets real warm. He was able to provide many solutions for a great price and wasn't forcing a sale (I appreciated this). Semper Solaris was referred to me by a trusted friend and it's been great. If you don't have solar, this is the time to do so. Especially before the 30% tax credit is done by 2019. Solar installation: Fantastic work. The crew was a pleasure to work with. OHaigen Vent installation: This would be a 3 star for me. Communication was challenging to get these up on the roof. How many vents did I need? Would these vents even do anything for me? How can we measure and baseline to see the improvements these vents would do? There is room for opportunity to provide customers some data/metrics on what vents can do for dissipating heat from the attic. So I just installed 3 vents, but with no clue if it works or not. Perhaps it is the nature of installing these things, but I just wish there was some data to help me feel at peace with my purchase. Anyways, they are a great company overall and are highly recommended. read more

This review is not on the actual solar installation review, but review on my experience with this company up to and through the inspection process. I got an initial quotes and signed contract, but had to opt out because of silly games that they were playing. Watch out for bait and switch tactics. I got a good initial quotes, but once I signed they added additional costs while running commercials on KFI that gives $2,000 discount "march madness". $ 1500 was added for having a steep roof. That's when I said enough and signed up with another company. It took two weeks to schedule an inspection, and another week to give an update on cost... 3 weeks of my time wasted with this company. Well I had an appointment with their sales team in early May to get a quote for solar was quite excited. The sales rep was 1 hour late to our appointment. He also did not come prepared with a face covering so we supplied him with one. He also requested paperwork such as our So Cal Edison bill , information that we did not have readily available which slowed the appointment down. They could have informed us before hand so we had the documentation earlier . Three weeks go by no quote has been sent. I had to follow up and they couldn't give me an answer. Three weeks more has passed NO quote no follow up no nothing--- they say it's gonna take another couple days to generate a quote. If their sales team is so inept I wonder how their production team is. I would fire their sales team and they seem pretty dysfunctional.. I would never do business with such a lazy organization. read more

Semper is staffed with professionals that are masters in their craft, I highly recommend them. After a good 4-6 weeks of research (I dig in pretty good on these things), I knew I wanted the most efficient panels (limited space w/ optimal orientation) and a reputable installation crew/company. In honor of full transparency, they're not the most splashy in the sales/quoting process (I actually preferred it being real though) and communication during organizational prep & installation could have been crisper. I talked w/ multiple people at different times and experienced small nuances vs. what was expected. But, with that said, everyone I worked with exhibited a sense of accountability and responsibility, no finger pointing or blaming. And, Semper absolutely stood up, owned the process front to back and advocated on my behalf w/ the many moving parts it takes to bring solar into a home (your city/county, electric company, HOA, lender, etc.). It was pleasure to work with this Semper Solaris and I highly recommend you take a serious look at them if you're exploring a solar install. read more

After many weeks of talking with Solaris about our customer service problems and the issue of being overcharged for electrical work that was not done, we were offered a refund of $250 which we refused to accept. After more conversations they finally agreed to refund us $1,000 for the work that was not completed. We were satisfied with this financial resolution but I would still NOT recommend this company for your solar needs. They are difficult to get hold of, they make appointments that they do not keep, and in general just offer poor customer service. read more

Disclaimer: I am posting this review in both Los Angeles and Orange County because Bob, our sales consultant, is from LA, and the technicians were dispatched to the OC (where we live). We started our solar search in August 2018. Out of almost a dozen companies that I got referrals for, I consulted with eight of them. Others no longer existed or wouldn't meet with me without both homeowners present - not something we could work with because I'm the "people person" and my husband does the background stuff (in-depth research, technical specifications, payment). Right off the bat, Bob King left a great impression. While other company representatives came and did their jobs, Bob made me feel like I was meeting up with an old friend. He was amiable, knowledgeable, professional, and helpful. He was also patient with and even enjoyed the company of my overly curious housecat and energetic toddler, something that I truly appreciated. Even after we signed with Semper Solaris, Bob kept in touch through phone calls, e-mails, and text messages, and helped move me along the process. Once I gathered up all the of quotes and offer details from all the companies, my husband reviewed the data and determined that he liked the Panasonic panels and its accompanying guarantee and warranty the most. Between Tesla and Semper Solaris, Semper Solaris had the best price. Other companies then tried to sell us their Panasonic panels at a matching rate, but I felt confident with Semper Solaris (while a few of the other companies felt... shady). We signed with Semper Solaris at the end of August and scheduled our initial site visit for a couple weeks later. We then started work a little more than a month out. Every technician I worked with was a well trained, quality professional. They showed up on time, cared about the work, respected my home, and answered all my questions patiently and informatively - whether the questions were good or dumb. After a week, we were at final inspection... This was where my biggest issue occurred. Per our contract, we ordered a 240v charger installed (for our EV). From my understanding of the contract, ALL WORK was to be permitted and inspected. The outlet, however, was neither permitted nor inspected. I was not informed of this until I asked about it the morning of final inspection (despite having inquired about it multiple times in my e-mails on the final design). I was further annoyed when they tried to collect the remaining balance of our contract after final inspection even though there was more work to be done (the outlet). We informed them that we were not paying for work that hadn't been completed and it wasn't an issue - they removed the cost of the outlet from the amount due and then we paid for the outlet after the installation was complete. We were granted permission by SCE to turn on our system at the end of October. From when we signed the contract to when we turned on the power was a little over 8 weeks. After we turned on the power, we encountered another snag. This time, it was regarding our monitoring software. We informed Semper Solaris immediately, but they "wanted more data" before they would confirm that the software wasn't reporting correctly. Once they confirmed the issue, they sent someone out to correct the problem. They resolved part of the problem, but software configuration issues remained and took another 3.5 weeks to resolve. Although I'm not sure what the problem was, Mike (O&M Support) stayed in close contact and worked with the supplier to get the issue resolved. So, why 5 stars? Because for every hitch, snag, delay, or annoyance, and just as part of what they do, Semper Solaris went above and beyond to take care of us as a customer and human being. It's taken me this long to post a review because I'm still waiting on SCE to finish approving my SGIP rebate - Something that Semper Solaris did ALL the work on and continues to update based on the responses from SCE (which I get CC'd on). Thanks, Ashley! The quality of the products that Semper Solaris sells make it a good company. The quality of the work they do make it a great company. The quality of their employees make the company unforgettable - in the best way. PROS: Customer service, quality product, communication, timeliness, thoroughness, follow-up, dedication CONS: Didn't let me know that the charger wouldn't be permitted or inspected prior to final inspection, software configuration issues that took a few weeks to troubleshoot and resolve read more

My boss had a new Owens Corning roof installed and SunPower solar panels installed 23 panels in all. Jim Springer was our contact and go to person and boy did he have his hands full between my boss and myself we ask a TON of questions. Jim was so patent with us and didn't ever try to rush us. I give Jim Springer "10" Stars. We met with Matt Hoey for the roofing part of the project and he was willing to sit down with us and answer all our questions and trust me we had a lot of questions. Over all the staff we worked with were great. I highly recommend Jim Springer and the team at Semper Solaris. read more

The customer service department has major issues, or I can specifically name names if required. First you don't tell a customer who has been waiting 10 days on a responce from the first screw up that you'll "look into it" again. Then when calling in again get someone else who tell me to calm... and then an "I'll look into it". Unacceptable that you wouldn't even listen to the complaint about a colleague before defending them. Do your job and you would not get complaints! read more

We had both a new roof and solar panels installed. The work was done professionally and in a timely manner. In particular, Erez, the lead on the solar panel installation was very helpful in coordinating the SCE work and inspections and in keeping us informed and answering my numerous questions. I would definitely recommend them for both reroofing and solar panel installation. read more

Bernie Townley Sales Rep from Semper Solaris came to our home and performed monthly usage electric analysis based on the last one year utility bills. Based on the total monthly KWH calculation usage, Bernie provided me 20 Panels Photovoltaic Panasonic 330 watts system with an electric panels upgrades to 200 amps from 100 amps. On the day of installation Eriz the Semper Solaris supervisor with his team came on time and installed the solar panels with in few hours. The electrical panel upgrades was done by Hussain a Semper Electrician so beautifully and precisely. The stucco around new electrical panel was put in perfectly and most importantly the colour matching of the wall was exactly the same and painted by Eriz. They cleaned the area before leaving. I have worked with so many vendors before but Semper Solaris stands out on the top. From the sales paperwork to actual operating of Solar Panels is literally mind blowing experience. I would highly recommend Semper Solaris for Photovoltaic needs. read more

At first we were really excited to go with the company. I'm a disabled vet and we try to work with the veterans in our community. However the process was very painful. We had trouble getting a hold of the people by phone even before the installation. I kept telling my husband maybe we should go to different company because it seems so hard to communicate with this company and we had even done installation. The situation has not improved. I still don't have a charger that was supposed to be put in for my car and...surprise...they have not updated us. I also have six panels that are not even working and they still have not addressed the issue. I would have to say if I had to do over again and seeing other people in my community discussing other companies I would look elsewhere. Update- we finally got someone to call us back. They had to add a few panels and tilt the six in the back. The guy that came was nice and he said they should have put more panels on the front to begin with. They also had the electric covers blocked by electric outlet boxes too close below panel so it would be hard to get the panel off. He said that was a fire hazard. We did talk to Kelly who owns the company and he was nice and helpful. He made sure everything was done. We told him we were going with another company to do the back up batteries because they had never gotten back to us. He said he understood and asked that I update my post. read more

Warning....do your research. They have plenty of recent BBB complaints. My saga continues, battery install was September 2022 (purchased in Apr 2022 promised June 2022). As of today, I have three outlets that no longer have power. They were supposed to return last week to fix it but as in my past experience, they continue not to reply to requests. Even though i have a Coporate contact in S.D. Since Sept, they returned several times to address issues but each time they've sent over a different person. Each person's "fix" (saying one wire was not connected that should have been or one wire was burnt out) only led to more problems. But now the builder of the system can't explain what the others did to it. Hence, the builder of the system has to return to fix all the other persons "fixes" to permanently restore power to outlets. This has been the most unprofessional service I have ever experienced. I am now going to resort to filing a complaint with BBB and CA Contractors Licensing Board. This has been a nightmare. read more

Wasn't comfortable with the company in general. Unless, it's just how they operate. Most other companies I contacted were fine providing me a quote via email. The salesperson I spoke to wanted me to call him back, even though he had my email information as he wanted me to send him details about our electrical panel, etc. They were much more expensive than the other companies I have been communicating with which is why we decided not to go with them. read more

Unfortunately when the solar panel installers came to my home they created a lot of damage to the new roof that had been installed. I was contacted by two supervisors who were upset over how their crew treated my roof. They brought two van loads full of replacement tiles and worked for two days to fix the damage. This year I had my home fumigated. I hired an inspector to ensure that the tenting did not damage my roof. It didn't, but I was shocked to find out how Semper Solaris "fixed" the roof they had just installed. There were over sixty broken tiles that had been glued together with caulking then painted brown. Caulking had been used to glue replacement tiles in place. They even left a stack of replacement tiles up on my roof concealed from view by a chimney. The inspector found it incredible that the county signed off on the project since it had so many code violations. He doubted that the inspector ever went on top of the roof. I have reached out to Semper Solaris with my complaints. Their customer service representative said that their Roofing Manager would be calling me. Currently I have been waiting for over a week for that call. I would think twice about hiring Semper Solaris to do any work on my home. read more
