Cute casual cafe for a coffee and sandwich, or work/study for a few hours! Ambiance/seating: Lots of seating with an upstairs area. Shouldn't be too hard to find a spot, it's also pretty quiet and there's an upstairs area. I went around 11 on a Sunday, and there was plenty of people eating or having coffee, and working /studying, but not too long of a wait. Coffee: I had a plain latte and my friend has pistachio, both were great! They also have some fancy novelty lattes. Food: The sandwiches were really good! There is a variety of egg sandwiches, lox, veggie, chicken. They were just very small and a bit overpriced. They had some pastries as well. WiFi: I didn't notice if they have wifi- but no laptop specific seating. Price: Sandwiches were a bit overpriced for what you get. Bathroom: Yes!!! read more

I finally made it to this coffee shop. Passed few times I wanted to try it out it had been closed. The vibes in here are chill and there is an upstairs with tables to enjoy your coffee and food at. I did not go upstairs as I took my coffee to go. I did not try any of the food here though from what I saw on the menu it all sounded good. I ordered an iced latte with a little Rose flavoring. When I got it and it did not taste like Rose at all, maybe it was because I asked for one pump of the syrup. Oh well. I did like they had the little circle ice cubes too. Service was ok a little on the slow side but it was only one person working. I would go back though and try out other drinks. read more

Came here for breakfast on a Monday morning. It was quiet and relatively empty. I ordered a drip coffee and the lox sandwich ($14). The sandwich was filling and very tasty-- I recommend it if you like lox. This is a good spot to bring out of town guests to. read more

Went to Semicolon for a post-workout breakfast with a friend recently. The service was fast and the staff were friendly. The food was pretty good - I got a hearty Bulgogi egg sandwhich and an iced coffee. However, the prices are a bit steep for what it is. I will likely come back as it is a unique breakfast spot in my area, but I wouldn't necessarily travel far for it. read more

Two story cafe; interior is a little bland and the tables are not overly clean. Drinks and food takes a while to be prepared. The mango banana smoothie was good. The bulgogi and lox sandwich both had a generous amount of meat and egg. Not sure if it was worth $14, but pretty filling. read more

Stopped in for an afternoon pistachio latte that did not disappoint. Such a great spot and if I wasn't in a rush, the music and the clean, cozy atmosphere would've reeled me in to stay enjoy my latte. I was able to get a quick video of the barista pouring my latte, she did an amazing job. Highly recommend to stop in. I may do a shaved ice next time. :) read more

I went to semicolon cafe right before my hair appointment and I quickly picked up an iced latte and a bulgogi egg sandwich. The bulgogi egg sandwich did take about 15 minutes to make and give to my hands so it was a bit time consuming if you are on the go. The bulgogi sandwich had Scrambled eggs with grilled corn, green leaf lettuce, stem tomatoes, marinated beef, bulgogi sauce, toasted brioche bread. The ambiance is warm, friendly, and inviting. The staff was pretty busy; there were two girls at the front counter taking orders and making the coffee drinks. I like how spacious this cafe is. They have two floors with seating available. Great cafe to have a meetup with friends and even a first date. The sandwich tasted superb, the bulgogi was sweet and savory. It is a little expensive for a breakfast spot but I can vouch that you'll get yummy food from here other than this I have only positive things to say about this establishment. 10/10 recommendation. read more

I've visited this place twice now. The vibe is cute and this coffee shop is nice and spacious. The first time, I tried the lady matcha. It was good but I prefer a stronger, more bitter matcha. This one is so pretty though. With pink popcorn on top so its instagram worthy. On my second visit, I ordered a hot latte instead, and I like it much better. Strong and more to my taste. Best cafe I've been to in NYC in my almost 5 years of residency! At almost 800 reviews, it's a bold statement, but very well deserved for Semicolon Cafe. Best lattes I've had the pleasure of tasting. It has a Korean American feel, and the drinks are not too sweet, unlike Starbucks. Everything was perfectly executed - from food to ambiance. It's a very cozy cafe that you could catch up with a friend or have a nice coffee date. The sandwiches here are so delicious - especially the bulgogi one! The bread is so soft and toasted, with great sauce. Will finely come back and either order the lady matcha or pistachio latte along with a sandwich. read more

I love the aesthetics of this cafe! Super high ceilings and surprisingly spacious. I had the chicken sandwich and enjoyed it. I was expecting one large piece of breaded chicken, as is the case for most chicken sandwiches, but this one came with multiple chunks of marinated chicken. Ate in 2022: I got their bulgogi egg sandwich while my friend got their lox egg sandwich and tiramisu latte. She liked her sandwich, meanwhile, I thought mine was too sweet. But that was my first time having bulgogi so I did not know that it was going to be sweet lol. Also, the sandwich was kind of bland, wish there was more flavor. Semicolon has been on my list in other cities but finally got to try in NYC!! For drinks: --Tiramisu latte: Reminded me of a mocha overall but loved how it wasn't too sweet! Also appreciated the espresso to milk to cream ratio! --Pistachio latte: Nutty flavors were prominent without compromising the coffee flavors For sandwiches: --Bulgogi: Meat was well marinated. Eggs came with corn that added some sweetness to the savory background. Appropriate ratio of ingredients. --Mushroom: Heavier on the sauce but I enjoyed it!! Good amount of mushrooms and well seasoned (with the sauce and cheese). You can never go wrong with the arugula mushroom combo! I preferred this one over the bulgogi one! Loved the minimalistic vibes with the painted brick wall and plants throughout. There are two floors for seating. I agree with other Yelpers that lighting isn't great for a cafe but ok for a restaurant. I can see myself coming back for their lattes and for other meet ups! read more

Semicolon Cafe is a super cute spot located in Murray Hill! They offer sandwiches and aesthetic cafe drinks. I've had the bulgogi sandwich before, ordering off DoorDash, and it was delicious. The lady matcha was also yum but definitely on the sweeter side if you want a sweet treat. The only thing is I stopped by in person to order it again and it was a tad shocking to see how the drink was made as the matcha came out of a whipped cream dispenser looking thing. A cute place with nice decor, setup, and music. Been meaning to check out this place and finally stopped in. Bulgogi sandwich was every bit as appetizing as I was expecting it to be, and the pistachio latte was pretty good, although might be slightly sweet aftertaste that could be more than desired for those without a sweet tooth. Saving the Lady Matcha for a little later but I'm sure it will be delicious as well - interesting edible straw that comes with. Will update after. Overall I would give this ~4.5 stars because it is pricy and probably more of a treat day spot in the future (and I think I'd try to make my own bulgogi sandwich at home given the price tag). read more

I love the modern and chic interior design of this cafe - it makes you want to stay and chat longer. I had the SOS sandwich - it was larger than I expected and very filling. I loved the pairing of egg and cheese with the vegetables. I think their sandwiches are very creative, and I'd love to come back and try a sandwich with meat inside next time. Their Lady Matcha is probably one of the best strawberry matcha drinks I've ever had. The matcha was rich, and the strawberry was just the right amount of sweet. The pink popcorn is so cute! This café is really unassuming from the front, but very cute! They have a lot of really nice craft drinks and I didn't have any but they have good sandwiches. They have a lot of seating in the back, you can definitely get your coffee and sit down for a while. They have a really cute wall of exposed brick that is painted white and has different Polaroids of dogs, which I thought was really cute! Tiramisu iced latte: 9/10 I got the tiramisu latte with regular milk and it comes with mascarpone cream on the top and condensed milk along with regular milk and espresso. I loved this drink! It was really sweet which is how I like my lattes. I would highly recommend trying this iced. I am big fan of having cream on top of my lattes, and I did like the mascarpone cream, but I do think it was a little too hard. It sat as a ball floating on the top of my latte, which made it hard to incorporate in the latte and enjoy while I sipped. I wish it was whipped to a creamier consistency and covered the whole top, if that makes. With every sip you would get some cream. If I lived closer to this location, I would totally come here! And I recommend you do the same. read more

My favorite thing were the Polaroids of what I'm assuming are the staff's pets hung on the wall as you enter. Good coffee nothing to complain about. Incredible sandwiches (they're more filling than they look) at a reasonable price in a convenient midtown location... I love it! The service is a little bit on the slower side and the ambiance is a little subpar (bright lighting on white walls, tables have stools instead of chairs etc etc) but overall a wonderful little cafe! It's kind of tucked away and hard to find but well worth a visit :) my favorite sandwich is the ham sandwich, which is loaded up with ham and eggs and a delicious sriracha sauce. Yum! read more

This is a cafe that was a few minutes' walk from our Airbnb in New York, so when we wanted to have a quick brunch we decided to check this place out. While it's on the smaller side, it does have some tables inside to sit at after you order your food and it has a nice, bright atmosphere that makes it good for studying/chilling. We placed our orders at the front and we were able to get our food within just a few minutes. I was pretty intrigued by their sandwiches, so we decided to try out their bulgogi and BELT sandwiches. Both of them came with toasted brioche bread, scrambled eggs with grilled corn, as well as lettuce/tomato/onions. The meat in the bulgogi was juicy and tender, while the bacon in the BELT was also quite flavorful. The ingredients all seemed to be fresh, and I have to say that it was a pretty solid brunch! Came on a rainy Sunday around 3pm and there were plenty of seatings available. - Hot Matcha Latte: no latte art as shown in other people's photos, and it was lukewarm - Shroom Sandwich: Love the buttery brioche bun however it does get oily and messy as the mushroom juice drips to the bottom. The truffle sauce was quite overpowering, could have done without it. Matcha Latte, Tiramisu Latte, Mango-ade, Mango Banana smoothie: (10/10) ALL of the drinks were delicious and well priced. They had a perfect blend of sweetness and options. I would definitely go back to try even more drinks. 2. Bulgogi Sandwich (10/10): Amazing sandwich! It is so soft and moist. The flavor is amazing and it fills you up with just one. The sandwiches are about deli prices. 3. BELT Sandwich (10/10): Amazing. This tastes like an elevated BLT because of the bread and the egg. It is one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had. I'm satisfied that I can taste the nutty creaminess. Though I wish it can be bolder and have more umami. Perhaps it has to do with concentration. At the same time, $6.50 is a good price given the location, alternative matcha and drink options nearby, flavor. I also asked how much matcha they use in the medium vs large sizes. Medium is 4g for a 12oz cup. Large is 5g for a 16oz cup. Even though large is a better deal by volume, I got medium because it has a higher concentration of matcha. Since I got a hot latte, my cup came with the lid on it already. I didn't look at it immediately, so no photo available lol. I looked later on and the color looks bright green. The seating is weird where they only have a table with two seats against the window. Then there's a random one chair next to the cashier and another one next to the pickup area. The stools are slightly taller than the counters which made me feel like I was towering over the counter. I don't recommend betting on spending time to hang out there. Just buy it to go.

The menu is on a QR code already on the table and we were given ample of time to decide. My friend and I both already knew what we wanted to order. I got the purple Yam Souffle which takes 25 minutes to make and my friend got the fried squid tails. We also got a signature Rose Green Milk Tea to share. The waitress who took our order has great memory and recalled all of our items without writing it down. She also reminded me that I could adjust the ice and sugar levels of my drink which I had completely forgotten and would have got annoyed if my drink came out 100% sweetness. Another thing is that my drink order frequently comes out wrong at other locations so I was glad she got it right! Green tea instead of black tea and with milk instead of without milk. The purple Yam Souffle is just like the other locations. Hot, soft cakey texture balanced with an ice cold red bean Ice-Cream. So delicious! The squid tails on the other hand was not what we expected. It came out burnt and hard. The outer batter was not crispy either. We informed one of the waiters and he brought it back to inform the kitchen staff. We received a new batch that was not as burnt and had more flavoring this time around. However, the squid was still hard and not like the ones we get from other locations with smaller crispier pieces. Overall, it was still a good experience and I love the decorations at this location! This might be my second favorite location after the Flushing one. Would love to come back for brunch or hi-tea. Or regular food options when I have not already eaten dinner. My usual go-tos are the twister fries, Santa Fe chicken rolls, fried salted crispy chicken, and the trio dessert combo. However, this location has a lot more variety! When we finished and were about to leave, the same waitress came over and showed us that the container of the coffee was different and hence the volume of the coffee looked different. At this point, we did not care for it anymore. We would have been fine if the staff acknowledged our concern. We thought that maybe using standardized containers for the coffee would avoid this problem. Other than that, the food and drinks were good.
