Cute spot for breakfast and the coffee was good!! The staff is so friendly and nice!! Chill vibes and great menu to select from!!
I stopped by for an afternoon pick me up at 4 PM on a weekday. I got the Vanilla Oat London Fog, which I was pleasantly surprised to find came in a decently large cup for the price. I liked the amount of caffeine that was in this drink; it was just the right amount to get me through the rest of the day. There's food available as well, and a lot of it looked delicious. I also appreciated that there was a really good amount of seating both outdoors and indoors! They gave us a warning about 10 minutes before closing, and then we wrapped up and headed out at 5 PM. Everybody that was working there was very nice and patient with us as we packed up and made our way out.
Nice clean cafe, but it was a popular place that got busy. Just needed to kill some time with wifi for the kid, so got a hot tea and sat down. Unfortunately wifi connected, but without internet. Checked with counter and they said it can get that way when too many people. It was indeed a full house at the time, so after nagging from the kid had to move out, lol.
This place was honestly amazing. I skipped out during lunch to come here and the food was so filling, and the service was great. The guy behind was actually very handsome!
Love coming here for breakfast when visiting NYC! I sometimes dream about the brussel caesar with tofu. :P
Solid lunch cafe with ample seating. Delicious rose matcha latte, made by speed-of-light barista. It was really entertaining watching him make 5 drinks at once, or so it seemed. The ambiance is lively/busy, with music playing. Several solo diners but more tables with two people. Breakfast bowl was pretty tasty and filling, I added bacon and chicken sausage. I could've done without the sausage. Service was quick and ingredients are tasty and seem good quality. I would go back to try some other menu items and get a chai or espresso drink.
I ordered delivery from here. The avocado toast was pretty small. Not quite enough for a full meal if you're very hungry. Overall, the dish was okay. It was drizzled with honey. Usually I love a sweet and savory combo, but this didn't quite knock it out of the park. The toast was okay, but not super thick. I did appreciate you could add an egg to it for an additional charge and they had several customization options. I also got the breakfast pizza. This was a fun and tasty dish. The pesto, onions, and parmesan cheese offered a nice burst of flavor and the flatbread was soft and buttery.
Unfortunately I will always fold for a cafe that also has a full slate of food options. It's just so great to have a place that can do excellent coffee as well as food. TWO IN ONE. Who cheered. And honestly extra bonus points to Slate for having different flavored drinks that my sugary coffee heart can choose from. EVEN better for me. AND breakfast all day. Love to love it. It was super busy in there at 10am on a Thursday, but I was able to grab a table when someone left. I appreciated how flavorful the breakfast pizza was, and the runny egg on top was just beautiful as an addition on top. My maple cinnamon latte wasn't too sweet despite the description, and the coffee was smooth. It's just such a comfy place. There are a number of tables to sit and do work at, but it definitely fills up easily. Will for sure be back!

There's also wifi. Will definitely come back. Bright atmosphere, relatively spacious, open air window. There's also a couple tables outside. You order at the counter and grab a number, then they bring the food to you!

I always have great meals in NYC. This breakfast in a casual cafe might have been my favorite of my recent weekend trip. The breakfast bowl has Farro, kale, egg, choose, and other veggies and herbs. It was hearty, flavorful, and filling. I felt good after eating it. My neighbor's wakes looked great, but one taste of my bowl and I had no regrets. It was a great place to start my day.
Had breakfast here by myself and loved every NY minute! Order an Americano and the Bacon Scramble. It was eggs, cheddar, bacon, and caramelized onions; add some salt and pepper and you have one tasty breakfast. It came with farm bread which did not disappoint. The place was crowded and had a great feel. Service was quick. Coffee was superb. If you are in Kips Bay, be sure to stop by!
This place is adorable! Not a huge menu but I love that. We had a mishap when ordering. They didn't hear what my partner wanted and just did two orders of the same item and then forgot the water. At first we thought there was a place to get water but we didn't see any. We sat outside, inside was packed. I will say that they were great at fixing the mishap. I went inside to explain what happened and to pay the difference because his was more than mine. Both of our sandwiches started with an "S" and it was loud inside and he was soft spoken. I get how that happened and I didn't even look to see if the order was correct so I didn't help. They didn't let me pay the difference and they were apologetic. It was the best customer service I've had in a restaurant in a while. Our food was great, my coffee was hot and tasted like coffee, not sweet. I would definitely one back based on my experience and the food. read more
I'm a little ??? Did I grab the wrong drink? Because I ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee and I'm 99% sure that's what they called out. But it came out so fast and it did not taste like Vietnamese iced coffee. But also non Asian places kind of suck at Vietnamese iced coffee, so I can't tell if this is legitimately their attempt or not. And also the guy that took my order saw me pick it up and didn't say anything. And also also there wasn't really anyone else waiting for their drinks. Anyways, nice amount of seating here. Opinion of their drinks is kind of up in the air because I genuinely don't know if I got what I ordered. But if I did, it was not very good :/// Ok after looking at other pictures and reviews, I feel like I did have the right drink... I'm not a fan. I'm sure their other drinks are better though. read more

I really enjoyed a delicious iced latte! They have some bags of whole beans for purchase. It was quite crowded when I arrived on a Friday evening. Friendly staff and I got my coffee order quickly. There is decent seating here. Highly recommend if you're in the area looking for coffee! read more

A great place for a quick, delicious lunch or breakfast. The menu is extensive. The sandwiches are unique. The wait staff is responsive and polite. I had the Rustic Chicken sandwich with goat cheese, avocado and sun dried tomatoes. (It came on a ciabatta roll. Photo below.) My wife had the burrata sandwich, which she said "was amazing." She also had a latte -- which was perfectly done. My only knock is that there isn't much room for eating in. They have community tables and it was a bit tight. Of course, it was crowded because the food is so good! read more

Solid 4.5 stars. Friendly and inviting decor, cool signage with an Etcha Sketch wall, and nice staff. Good cafe near Koreatown. You order at the register, and then you're given a number to take to your table, and the staff brings your order to you. This was a great find on our last day in New York. We ordered regular lattes and a matcha latte. Very pretty designs and tasted great. The Deviled Egg trio was a nice starter, with original, spicy and truffle flavors. Delish! The Chicken Pesto Bowl was my favorite, with some of the pesto not mixed in, which gave it a really intense flavor, so yummy! The Mushroom Scramble with country toast was good too, although it didn't come with butter and jam, which I had to request. Overall, a nice dish, but not as flavorful as the others. The Salmon, Egg and Cheese sandwich was also delicious, with a runny egg, which we loved. read more

I came here during the week for a quick breakfast. Food was delicious and priced well. The service was also excellent - the reason I knocked a star was because the restaurant was pretty small and it was a seat yourself style. Even during the week it was hard to find a place to sit since it was so busy. I would definitely come back though read more
I came here on a Sunday with a friend. I got a hot vanilla latte and avocado toast. The latte was solid but nothing special. The avocado toast was yummy and I liked that it had honey! We sat outside in one of the outdoor seating. I like the vibes of this place and it was tough to find seating inside but it was beautiful outside read more

Great brunch spot! My friend and I sat in one of their cubicles on the street which was a nice option-- more privacy and still good for people-watching. The chai latte was one of the best I've ever had. The deviled eggs and toast were also super delicious. I would come back and order the same exact thing for sure. read more
I stopped in for a weekday breakfast and it was a very nice experience. We were able to snag a booth seat after a little bit. The place does get pretty busy during the morning rush with people ordering to go as well as sitting in. We ordered the salmon egg and cheese, mushroom scramble, breakfast bowl, and the rose berry waffles. The salmon egg and cheese was really good, there was a good amount of salmon on it but there was a lot of bread. I highly recommend ordering the rose berry waffles. The waffles on thier own were really good, almost like a liege waffle. The berries on top tasted great and the yogurt sauce that it comes with makes the experience taste like you're eating cake for breakfast. The food and drinks were a bit on the pricier side but the ambiance was great, the service was quick and the food was good. read more

I visited Blank Slate for weekend brunch and am already planning my next trip!! Needless to say the food was amazing! The menu satisfied the many different types of eaters in my party. The food is on the pricier side, but the salad/bowl portions are large. I split the Blank Slate chopped salad with tofu and the breakfast bowl (no cheese and sub the egg for tofu). Both were delicious! The portion of tofu was generous and worth the additional $4. If pressed for a favorite, I'd pick the chopped salad since I was in the mood for a refreshing greens-based bowl, but the warm grain-based breakfast bowl was a very close second! It was very crowded inside, but we found an open table outside within one of the heated "igloo" setups on the side of the cafe. While it was insulated/heated, it was still fairly cold inside since it was a chilly winter day. I can't wait to try more menu items like the salmon egg & cheese or breakfast pizza. read more

This place is such a cute cafe. The location has inside and outdoor seating. You can look over the menu and go up to order and they will bring you your order. The food was fresh and warm. We got the strawberry smores with graham crackers. The smores dish was yummy but was a little disappointed that the chocolate got stuck to the dish. The drinks were decent as well. We got the strawberry matcha latte but needed a more strawberry flavor. The Vietnamese coffee tasted like normal coffee. Overall though id return to try their other items. read more

We were so happy to find a great brunch spot in the middle of weekend brunch hour. Blank Slate is a great tasty coffee/latte/brunch spot. I loved my iced Chai latte which the counter staff recommended over the rose matcha latte. Our Rose berry waffles (Belgian waffles with rosewater berries and sweet cream) satisfied our sweet cravings while our breakfast bowl (Farro, wild mushrooms, squash, feta, avocado, sunny side egg) filled my savory breakfast craving. Both were super tasty! The self service free filtered water tap station was great. You order your food at the front and tell then your table number for a waiter/waitress to deliver you your food. There is also outdoor seating available. Only negative, the indoor dining was a little hot and stuffy - It seemed like there was only some fans going to cool customers at this bustling joint - we were hoping for more a/c on the hot summer day we popped in. I absolutely would consider coming back for another iced latte or brunch fix! read more

Came around 10:30am on a Sunday as a party of 2. Was pretty busy with line almost out the door but were able to get a table inside. A hostess will go down the line and seat y'all appropriately. They have tables outside inside these clear tent things. They have about 7ish different sized tables inside with a countertop facing the street Service: quick and straightforward. Staff nice and do a good job with settling foot traffic and seating Food: the breakfast bowl and breakfast pizza were both great and filling. Drinks: Dirty chai latte standard and hit the spot. There's also a fridge with drinks for purchase (lemonade, soda, etc) Trendy and aesthetic cafe. Glad we were able to stumble on this gem in midtown. read more
