Really cute cafe and very nice people. Croissant sandwich was good not special. The turmeric latte was super strong. Maybe a bit too much turmeric. Would definitely recommend this cafe for a nice lunch break.

Very cutesy walk in coffee shop. I got an iced vanilla latte which was okay and got the job done. I accompanied my coffee with an almond croissant but it wasn't toasted and Im not sure if that was an option since it was super busy. Overall just a meh experience.

I picked up a morning iced coffee and a pastry item (ham and cheese croissant) from here. The ham and cheese croissant is delicious and their iced coffee is the perfect way to start my morning at the office. 5/5 recommendation

Writing while at the cafe which I rarely do, but Lucid Cafe is really great! I went for an iced lavender latte to nurse my hangover and a blueberry scone. I nearly ordered the apple turnover before the scone turned my head, and the woman working let me know that that's her favorite pastry there and they bake them every morning!! She was so sweet and as I sat for a while she shared that sweetness with every customer, even the dumb ones. The space is tiny, luckily I got a seat with an outlet while I wait for my train at grand central. The outdoor seating is cute for a warm day. This is definitely not a place you would want to do any wfh stuff from. It is one of few 'real' cafes in this area, otherwise you're stuck with starbucks. The latte was yummy, though I wish they did iced cappuccinos (it is very common for cafes not to, so I can't knock them). If I ever miss my target train and need to spend another hour, you can definitely find me here.

A nice little cafe. It punches above its weight in terms of service. It seems like a chill family run establishment. I very much enjoyed my cortado. I saw others with lattes and I became jealous because they looked beautiful. I'd go back.

The most excellent cappuccino and coffee we had while visiting NYC. The service was efficient without being rude, cafe is teeny weeny and easy to miss with construction scaffolding outside. But don't be afraid to venture in, really glad we found this spot. Had coffee here 4 out of 4 mornings because it was that good!

Avo scrambled egg toast and cappuccino

Fourth day in NYC, 4th day at this cafe. The coffee is really really good. I'm a gnarly coffee snob from the Pacific Northwest and struggle to find a decent cappuccino on the road. Loved the avocado toast with scrambled egg. They are just so nice and the food and drink prepared with genuine care. Seems like a family operation. Very special.

This is a small café with lots of options. Our coffee was delicious. I love when the barista goes out of their way to make it look presentable. Friendly ppl working behind the counter.

Very cute independent coffee shop in Manhattan, the service was very friendly and the taste of the drink is just right. I've been passing by for the past few days and it gives me the local vibes. A good place to get a quick drink in the go to start your mornin. They also sell kids masks and adult masks here just incase you forgot to bring yours. Very small place so only a few people can be in the shop, but there is also 3 tables out door with 2 seats each table if you want to quickly sit and eat your food. Not suitable to sit for larger crowds.

Cute cups for a cute cafe

Really good coffee. I can't count how many times cappuccinos have been badly made but not at Lucid Cafe!! Absolutely awesome!

We had a large group reservation for 13 people today (Friday) early afternoon around 1 PM. The…read morereservation process was easy and communication was quick and responsive. We worked with Eric via email and he was great managing and making sure everything was settled ahead of the event. On the day of our lunch, we arrived around 20 minutes early and the table was already set up. We had two servers throughout the meal and they were lovely. They made sure everything was set up and we had everything we needed. For a large group reservation, they have a $60 minimum and you order everything ahead of time. (The afternoon tea set is mandatory for everyone to get). We had the afternoon tea set, caprese tarts and strawberry parfait for all attendees. The food was filling and tasty. Tea is always so good as well (I always get my Rose Lovers Milk Tea!) All in all, a great option for a group reservation in the city!

After eating some good comfort food, my friends and I wanted a little late-night sweet treat. We…read moresaw this place and thought it looked cute. We got the Ube Crepe Cake and Chocolate Lava Cake. The size of both were the perfect amount since we just wanted something small to end the night. The ube crepe cake was really light and creamy. The ube flavor was pretty subtle, and I mostly tasted the cream. It's a perfect light dessert, but I would've liked the ube flavor to be stronger. The chocolate lava cake was super rich and decadent but also really delicious. I feel like it kinda battled with the ube crepe cake since they're total opposites. The staff were friendly. The interior was really cute and had a relaxing type of atmosphere that made it great for a nice place to sit, chat, and have dessert.

Favorite korean shaved ice spot in NYC! Very aesthetically pleasing interior with a lot of seating…read moreboth on the first and second floor, but can get very busy during peak hours. They have a wide variety of uniquely yummy Korean desserts, during my trips here most notably the Korean shaved ice. Very finely fluffy shaven ice which comes in two different sizes depending what flavor you pick (cup vs regular), each with a different topping/sauce combo. The strawberry one includes fresh strawberries and a strawberry jam drizzle that is just the right amount of sweetness--not too sweet. Also tried the ube which had mochi bits at the bottom, w/a deep flavor of ube drizzle that was yummy. This spot is pricey, which comes with the location yes, but do I think it's worth it? Yes. Would I bring friends out of town here? Yes. I've tried many many shaved ice dessert spots, and Seoul Sweets does an incredible job with the flavor combos and getting that perfectly soft, finely shaven, fluffy shaved ice (my preference: generally icy, hard shaved ice is no no imo for me) What I've Ordered Here Before: - Strawberry Shaved Ice - Ube Shaved Ice - Korean Donut Pastry

I was curious what makes ssal cakes different from typical flour. Honestly I was wondering if it…read morewould be chewy like mochi (it's not!). When I went at 7pm on a Thursday, they ran out of some of the ssal cake flavors, but luckily they still had the mugwort flavor which was the one I was aiming for. The plain cream one looks very angelic and attractive with the pale whiteness but for $1.50 more, I'd rather get a flavored version. Also I recall others saying that the plain one is a bit tasteless. The ssal cake ended up being super airy and light, even softer than a chiffon cake imo. It doesn't have oiliness, roughness, or acidity. Likewise, the cream matches the gentleness of the cake. The structure is interesting too, because the top layer of cream is thick, then a thin layer of cake, then a thin layer of cream, and a thick layer of ssal cake. When I eat it, I often get hit with the thick layer of cream on top while wishing there's more cake. Don't get me wrong, I like all components of it. I've had mugwort before but not super familiar with it. For those who've never had it before, mugwort tastes herbally and earthy kind of like the Chinese herb prunella vulgaris (?). The flavor here is strong but not in your face aggressive. I like how they dust the whole top with more mugwort powder which adds to the flavor and provides another layer of texture that's not overly dry (slightly messy tho!) I like how the mugwort is a greyish shade of green which honestly looks so chic and unique compared to other bright and colorful desserts nowadays. You can argue that the color looks dull, but I like it. My only complaints for the ssal cake are: 1) wish it came in a smaller size which would be easier to stomach (literally) and financially, 2) wish the cakes were in perfect squares. They're more rectangular without straight edges and 90 degree corners.
