We've asked her many times to change our billing date to either the beginning, middle, or end of the month, and she refuses to assist us with this. Our billing date this year was Christmas Eve (12/25/24) and she called, threatening to lock us out of our unit. We assured her we will have it paid by the first - like we have done every month for the past 2 years. The bill was paid 01/01/25 and her argument was "nobody was working that day, so there was no one here to take the lock off." She presumptively had us locked out of our unit. We arrived at 1030 on 01/02/25 and she still wasn't on site. When we confronted her about this issue, she was rude, petty & and argumentative. Then she took 20 minutes to walk down and unlock our unit. Next time, I'm bringing bolt counters and leaving the cut lock right on her desk.

I WAS NOT TOLD that I had to use my old lock and not open the new lock in order to receive credit! I'm stuck with an extra lock that I have no use for! I am VERY angry and do not appreciate the lack of miscommunication!! Their response was that it's in the policy; however I did not read that part of the policy because of what I was told by public storage employee!!

We signed a paper contract when they dropped off the unit, although I don't really remember signing a contract. But then 3.5 years later, they sent us a digital contract and asked us to sign it. But because I don't remember the paper contract, I refused to sign the digital contract. Even though we were paying every month on time for the last four years, they refused to give us one more month with the unit because we refused to sign the contract. Additionally, after returning the unit, my credit card was charged two months in a row, and I had to call the company to get a refund on my credit card. I would recommend the business because the delivery and pickup of the unit was simple. But everything else involved with renting this unit, I don't recommend.

I quickly received a call from the company offering to discount my move and send Walter Davies, a furniture repair person, out to make furniture repairs. We were disappointed with our recent experience with Bookstore Movers. The crew was polite, but the…read moremove felt much slower and less efficient than it should have been. We had a dedicated elevator, yet workers often brought items down only one or two at a time. I also saw team members on their phones or standing around in rooms and hallways instead of actively moving things. These delays added up quickly. The crew also misplaced parts of our bed frame, and the pieces had to be found before it could be reassembled. That alone added nearly an hour to the move. Because the move took much longer than expected, the final cost was significantly higher than the estimate we received. We were also charged based on an arrival time that was recorded as ten minutes earlier than when the crew actually arrived. The team was courteous, but given the inefficiency, added time, and higher final price, we would not use Bookstore Movers again. This is unfortunate, because we had been happy with them in previous moves.
