I don't know how this place has all these positive reviews lol maybe they pay their employees that get "good reviews" so they ask their friends and families to write fake ones! Who knows! My experience was totally different than every other customer here, so I am sharing in the event that you are skeptical once you see this trashy facility in person.
BUT this place is disgusting, inside and out and the employees on-site, along with the corporate customer service reps, and area manager are incompetent and do not return your calls or voicemails! You will have trouble ever speaking to the representatives onsite because they hardly answer the phones or call back. You need to absolutely get outside insurance, do not go through their company! Apparently, it's company policy to require everyone (but me) to get insurance or have their own. You also need to know that they do not prorate rent at all. You will be charged for a full month regardless of if you move out in the first two days.
I was a customer. I rented because of the first month for $1. I moved in November 2020, and had originally planned to move out in December 2020. Someone in my family got COVID-19, and I had to move my vacate date to January 2, 2021. I left voicemails to their mainline prior to my original move out date, trying to extend and with questions.. no one ever called me back.. waited.. got an email and decided to follow the prompts to try and extend online... changed the date to January 2nd.. paid the balance due to that date..
I show up to move out in January. The storage facility is unkept and in disrepair. The roof molded and partially disassembled leaving my belongings disgusting (there was no tropical storm, tornado, or natural disaster- the roof just must have been that bad from being neglected). I WAS NEVER CALLED BACK ABOUT THIS DESPITE TRYING TO REACH THEM THROUGHOUT THE DAY (STILL TRYING). Also once I vacated, thinking I would put it behind me, I got an automated message that I had an outstanding balance... which is funny because I already paid what I thought was a prorate, when I changed my move-out date online.
Just simple lessons. If a business is giving away something (like a month for $1) it's because they are likely struggling and have to. If you cant get a call back before you move in, maybe choose another place. And if it looks bad, it is bad, so get insurance! Lol always judge a book by its cover... you will see what I mean if you ever find yourself wandering around the hoods of Maryland and stumble upon this place! read more
