I literally made this business a Yelp page to help them out. They need some help:

Select Luxury Imports Sold Me a Dangerous Porsche -- Then Obstructed a Manufacturer-Authorized Inspection
I purchased a 2014 Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid (VIN: WP1AE2A29ELA50403) from Select Luxury Imports and what followed was a series of safety violations, legal interference, and business malpractice that should disqualify this dealership from ever selling another car again.
Let's walk through the facts -- not speculation -- step by step.
1. Vehicle Purchased Under False Pretense
I was told the Cayenne was clean, functional, and ready for reliable use. There was no warning about mechanical issues, and I was not shown any recent diagnostics, inspection records, or disclosures of major faults. The dealership presented the vehicle as turnkey.
Reality: Within days of purchase, the vehicle began showing major issues:
* The car stalled mid-turn in traffic.
* The hybrid electrical system malfunctioned repeatedly.
* The car went into limp mode, causing sudden deceleration.
* Multiple system warnings lit up the dash (hybrid system fault, charging malfunction, drive system warnings).
* Performance degraded rapidly, with acceleration failures and start refusals.
I was driving a liability. Every time I got behind the wheel, I was risking my safety and the safety of everyone around me.
2. Attempt to Get the Car Professionally Diagnosed -- BLOCKED
Recognizing these were not normal issues, I coordinated with House Automotive, a trusted Porsche specialist, to have the vehicle retrieved and evaluated.
A certified House Automotive agent was dispatched to pick up the car for a full diagnostic. This is standard industry practice when a luxury or hybrid vehicle shows major failures -- and it's in the best interest of all parties to get technical confirmation.
Instead of cooperating, Select Luxury Imports interfered with the recovery attempt. They:
* Refused to release the vehicle to House Automotive, despite it being an authorized Porsche specialist acting with my consent.
* Prevented the diagnostic from occurring, blocking the only path to an official technical evaluation.
In doing so, they legally interfered with my right to assess the product they sold me. This move was not only unethical -- it ultimately backfired on them.
3. Bank Terminates Agreement, Halts Operations
Because Select Luxury Imports blocked the retrieval and diagnostic of the vehicle, the financing bank canceled the deal entirely.
The reason was simple: no verification of roadworthiness = no funding.
The bank's own compliance and risk department reviewed the situation. When they saw:
* Safety-critical vehicle faults
* A third-party certified service center blocked from inspecting the vehicle
* Select Luxury Imports refusing to cooperate
They froze the transaction and terminated the purchase agreement.
From there, their entire operational pipeline collapsed. No car sale. No funds released. No path forward. That was a consequence of their own obstruction and negligence.
4. Lack of Transparency & Zero Public Accountability
And here's what makes it worse: Select Luxury Imports doesn't even have a Yelp page. That's not an oversight -- it's deliberate.
* No public reviews
* No easy way for consumers to warn each other
* No formal dispute resolution channel
This is a business model based on opacity and denial. If you think you're protected by Yelp, BBB, or even a working relationship with a financing bank -- think again.
SUMMARY
Let me be clear:
* I bought a car that wasn't roadworthy.
* I arranged for it to be inspected by a legitimate service center.
* The dealer blocked that inspection.
* That obstruction directly led to the cancellation of the entire deal.
* As of today, I no longer possess the vehicle -- and Select Luxury Imports has made no restitution, no apology, and no corrective action.
I am now filing formal complaints with the BBB, DMV, Bureau of Automotive Repair, FTC, and California State Attorney General -- and I encourage anyone reading this to think very carefully before doing any business here.
If a dealership goes out of its way to stop a mechanic from seeing the car, ask yourself: what are they hiding?
Because now I know exactly what it was
Funny enough I purchased a Maserati a week later at Maserati of Anaheim Hills. If you want a good car don't go cheap, go hard. Or at least Italian. read more
