We saw a water stain in our master bedroom and of course, we were immediately concerned. We called several roofing companies, and came across at least one other roofing company that was overly aggressive, pushy and even patronizing in our opinion. Calvin on the other hand, was very patient in listening to our issue and working with our circumstance (new home owners working within the conditions of our home warranty). Calvin came within the expected time frame he mentioned, and inspected our roof and diagnosed our problem. He was very transparent with us, in letting us walk on the roof with him. He pointed out all the things he could see and let us know his thoughts and assessment. He identified the likely potential cause for our leak and helped us address it! I called Saleh Rooting after receiving a letter from my insurer requesting that I get a roof inspection done by a qualified professional and submit a report to them before they're willing to renew my policy for the following year. Over the phone they were quote professional and able to schedule me quickly. I told them exactly what my insurance letter said and they quoted me $450 for an inspection but offered a $300 discount if I promised to write an honest google or yelp review. That's a no brainer, but more on that later..... My appointment was for today at noon and the representative they sent was quite timely arriving only a few minutes after our scheduled time. No issues there but the person they sent could be described as someone who seems like they don't care about how they represent their company and likely the type who doesn't wash their hands after using the restroom. He came out, asked if I was who he was looking for and quickly got out of his car and handed me a card without putting on a facemask despite me wearing one myself. Clifford then proceeded to walk around my house, sometimes less than 6 feet from me, occasionally coughing into the wind without a care. After walking the perimeter of the house, he got a telescoping ladder out of his car climbed up till he was head level with my roof and asked if I wanted him to actually go onto the roof. I responded that I needed him to do whatever he typically did for a report that I could furnish to my insurer. He said he had seen enough and did no need to go up on the roof or risk falling. When he climbed down, he finally told me that he'll put on a mask and show me some pictures. Though I told him I didn't really need to see any pictures since I needed a report and probably an estimate on any repairs I would need but he insisted and handed me his phone. Then came the sales pitch and him showing me materials etc. I really did not want to sit through a sales pitch during a pandemic and told him so. In response, Clifford pointed to my car and said that when I bought the car, I had to listen to a sales pitch. I told him that I bought the car used after doing my own research and that I didn't feel we'd be able to do business by the way he was talking to me and how he was not following CDC recommended COVID prevention matters. We agreed at that point and returned to our cars. Upon leaving, Clifford pulled up next to my car which was driven by my pregnant wife, opened his window and shouted at my wife that he was married to a registered nurse. Why he felt that necessary is beyond me. I called Selah because of the other ratings I found for them, sadly my experience did not match what I found. I think they should look into how Clifford is representing the company when not supervised as he left a very negative impression. One final point, the business card that Clifford gave me has "Free Inspection" printed on the back. In hindsight, the $450 inspection fee and $300 discount if I left a review seem to be false pretenses to get more reviews. I'm a little disappointed about that as well. read more

Can't give 2.5 stars. I had to wait awhile to write this review because I was so disappointed with the communication between the staff. First of all- the quality of the work is great. They did a great job with the roof and the gutters, despite the fact that they installed the wrong color roof and left an open hole in our house after putting in some insulation. After we decided to move forward with their initial sales guy (Ernie is fantastic)- the manager came over and recommended we use a different color roof then we initially chose. The new color did in fact look better and we were very happy with the recommendation. Move along to install date and they install the initial color not the color we changed it to. Big mistake right. The most frustrating part of the ordeal was we could get no one on the phone to discuss the mistake- emails and phone calls went unanswered- in my head highly unprofessional. When we finally got the manager back on the phone he was so defensive and then claimed we never made the color switch. Very frustrating. The compromise we were finally able to get out of them was they added on some additionally work at a discounted rate. Still never admitting they made a mistake. At the end of it all the roof looked good but the whole company left a bad taste. They also added some insulation to our attic and had to take out some slats to access the area- instead of replacing the slates they nailed some chicken wire to the hole and now we have a gaping hole on the side of our house with chicken wire stapled to it. Very ugly. It was so hellish to get them back on the phone we decided to contract someone else to fix the hole so that we wouldn't have to deal with Selah anymore. read more

Great experience with this company! We needed a flat roof replaced and got a quick response. Carlos(salesman and social media manager) met with us promptly(& safely!), inspected the roof, and gave us a fair estimate for a 3-layer "torch down" roof. He took much longer to explain the materials, process, and other important details than the other companies that gave us estimates. He was very personable and professional! His estimate was not the cheapest, but was a little lower than others that we had received. He convinced us that Selah was the right company for the job. The actual work on the roof began within days instead of weeks. The installation crew(Miguel & Alfonso) were prompt, professional, and used safety(Covid 19) protocols. They finished the job in 2 1/2 days and did a great job! They did have to replace a few pieces of wood before installing new roof, but only what was absolutely necessary. Miguel actually showed up on a Sunday evening to make sure the roof was covered/rainproof when rain was expected overnight. They also cleaned up very well daily, which kept our dog from stepping on nails and other debris. The finished roof looks great and should last us 15 to 20 years or longer. We were so happy with the results and would recommend Selah to anyone looking to replace a flat "torch down" roof. read more

I never thought I would need a roofer. I panicked when my roof started leaking with this recent rain storm. I came across Selah Roofing on Yelp and called asap. A friendly voice answered it was Angela. I told her I need someone to come over asap, with in a couple hours maybe less she sent Paul (contractor/ Owner of Selah Roofing) right over. We had Selah Roofing replace a bunch of Spanish tiles broken by the termite tenting crew. Unfortunately, we also developed a leak from a vent cap which another roofer put on. Calvin came out to take a look and replaced the vent cap at no additional charge, even though his company had not put the first cap on. He was responsive, on time, and texted me when he was en route to my house. I'm hoping the new cap resolves the leak, but even if it doesn't, I'm giving 5 stars to Calvin for his professionalism and going above and beyond. read more

I asked for a quote via Yelp on Wednesday last week. The manager called me within 5 minutes to ask some follow up questions and luckily they had a cancellation the following day to have someone come out. The next morning Calvin came and asked us if he could go up on the roof to look around and see what the problem was (we had some shingles fly off due to the intense wind we had a few weeks back). He came back down and advised that we would probably have to replace our whole roof eventually but for now he just went up and replaced the shingles for us for free! He said it was very minimal work that would take about 10 minutes so it was no problem for him to do it! After he was done we stood outside talking for about 10 minutes and before he left, we offered him a tip since he did such a nice thing for us. He refused and said "it's all God's work." What a stand up guy Calvin is! When we have to get our roof done we will FOR SURE be contacting Selah Roofing and specifically asking for Calvin! read more
