Service and food were great. We got the crab dip as an appetizer, it had fantastic flavor. Came out bubbling hot! The bread served with it was pleasantly crunchy. I got the shrimp po'boy, my friend got the shrimp remoulade po'boy and we traded half our sandwiches. Both were very flavorful, but we agreed that we preferred the traditional shrimp po'boy. Really great flavor, crispy shrimp and a flavorful French bread for the bun. So delicious! The baked Mac and cheese and jambalaya were both delicious as well. My best friend and I were immediate greeted when we walked through the door and sat by Amy the manager. She introduced herself and went over the menu. We started out with the Crab Dip, omggg it was super delicious. I ordered the Sausage Gumbo but Amy had a little surprise for me and brought out a side of potato salad to go with it. It was perfection. My friend had Crab Cakes, it was amazing. At the end, sweet Amy served us some delicious Bread Pudding and a slice of "King Cake". This place was highly recommended by my cousin who lives in Lafitte, LA. Upon arrival, we noticed that the restaurant was cold inside, as if they had recently started to heat the place. The outside temp was an unusual 42 degrees! Brown construction paper is placed over the table cloths to keep them clean. It's an effective way to keep any fish dish from unwanted scents! Our server never smiled and had a lackadaisical attitude that was a turn off. We shared an order of crab cakes topped with remoulade sauce. The crab cakes were substantial enough for us to share without feeling like we left hungry. Although the crab cakes were large, they had lots of breading and a mild crab flavor. There were no chunks of crab that I was hoping to find. My wife ordered a glass of Hess Select Chardonnay that was quite sour for Chardonnay and it had no fruity flavor. Based on our experience, I can't recommend this restaurant. read more

Never order fried seafood there!. Last night was the second time in a row I got cold fried seafood. I even told the waitress that I'm gonna order fried seafood only if she can promise me that it's gonna come out hot. It didn't. So I sent it back to the kitchen and when they brought me out the replacement plate the oysters were so dark that I didn't even touch them. Either they were overcooked or the oil was old but they were hard as rocks. I think their flour was wet too. I used to run a restaurant which served fried seafood and I can tell you that they just did nothing correct here. What was really disappointing was that the manager never came out to talked to me, and when I left he was sitting out in the front and I stopped to tell him about what happened and all he said was "I'm sorry". I used to run a restaurant for five years and if anybody ever had to return a plate of food I automatically gave them a coupon for a free meal for the next time they came in. I always wanted to make sure they came back again. I'm not panning for a free meal but he should've offered something since I sent back one plate and still didn't get a satisfactory meal. They have some really good dishes there and I'm sure I'll go back because my wife loves it, but they just don't do fried seafood well read more

The shrimp remolaude sauce is delicious with huge spicy boiled shrimp. We shared the seafood platter and it was so crispy. This is one of our favorite places that's off the beaten path. Highly recommend!! Service is always wonderful and nice. read more

Good place to grab a bite to eat after a swamp tour! A group of friends and I were in NOLA for a friend's birthday trip in August and we did a swamp tour with Ultimate Swamp Adventures and decided Segnette Landing would be a good place to grab a bite to eat since it was adjacent to the dock for the tour. We took Ubers since we were out of town, so we didn't want to have to grab another Uber to grab food. After our tour, we put our name on the list and were told it would be a wait. It was a party of 8, so we weren't surprised that it would be a wait, but the wait was much longer than the time we were quoted. We ended up waiting over an hour. During our wait we did explore a little because the restaurant had one of my friend's phone numbers. When we finally were able to sit the restaurant was HOT. Unfortunately, the A/C was out, but the staff was accommodating and were still working hard. The manager was working diligently to get the A/C fixed and manage the situation, which was appreciated. But August in Louisiana with no A/C was torturous. It wasn't their fault, but I do appreciate how much they tried to make themselves and patrons comfortable, even putting paper up on the windows to help alleviate some of the heat from outside coming into the restaurant. The food was good...not spectacular, but good. Also taking into account the temperature, I don't think any food can blow me away when I'm drenched in sweat. I ordered the Chicken and Avocado Sandwich. I was impressed by how large and well-cooked the chicken sandwich I ordered was. I didn't order any cocktails, but my friends all said they really enjoyed their food and drinks. This is definitely somewhere I'd like to visit if I'm in the area again in a cooler month! read more

I can't believe that I haven't posted a review as I've been here a bunch with family. My uncle had been raving about this restaurant for awhile and then one of my brothers did. It's a bit of a hike outside of New Orleans proper but is a quick jaunt from the Huey P Long Bridge. The menu is varied and the daily specials are delicious. My brother loves the white beans and the crawfish pie is delicious. Service is friendly and casual. They do have a full bar. While the restaurant definitely caters to tourists as it's adjacent to a swamp tour site, it doesn't forget that locals can keep the doors open. There is an accessibility ramp in the back and there is also porch dining that looks out over Bayou Segnette. There is plenty of parking but some of it is on gravel/shells. read more

One of the best meals I've ever had in NOLA. We stopped here for a late lunch after the swamp tour that was located next-door. The portions were large. I ordered the crawfish pie, and when the waiter put it in front of me, I thought, "there's no way I can eat all of that." I ate every bite! So yummy! My husband had the shrimp po'boy with a side of white beans, also delicious. We split a bread pudding for dessert, & it was the best we'd ever eaten. My friend and I ordered the same thing because it sounded so good, but there were many things on the menu that sounded soooo good, we must go back! My only thought is I wish they did wine more thoughtfully. On a menu with fish and seafood, wouldn't you think you would have a sauvignon blanc, maybe a pinot grigio, maybe both? (And a pinot gris and a pinot grigio are not the same thing, and do not taste the same). A good wine pairing, nothing fancy, would have sealed the deal. read more

Our first real sit-down meal after moving to Louisiana. Was recommended by the Penske location where we turned in our truck. LOVE the location and the laid back vibe. Husband enjoyed an Abita beer and then a Praline Old-Fashioned ($12), which took his breath away on the first couple of sips. Husband had his first hot sausage po-boy here with a side of jambalaya, yummy and different than we've had with its brown roux. Chicken and sausage gumbo was awesome, and I loved my crawfish etouffee, which was a huge portion. Pricing was reasonable, including the to-go bread pudding ($4). It truly had a rum sauce... We ordered the crab dip to start; it was cheesy and good. Our entrees were the stuffed pork chops, crawfish pie, crawfish etoufee, and mardi gras catfish. We ate it all! For dessert, we ordered the bread pudding and pecan pie. The bread pudding was warm and left me wanting more of it. Their desserts are really cheap. You can tell the gumbo is made with love and that roux always comes through *chefs kiss* My husband got the fish dinner and finished every bite. Awesome food, I had the shrimp plate and there were 12 large shrimp and fries. The breading on the shrimp was perfect, the best I have had in a long time. My husband had jambalaya and he loved it. We rode our bikes from our campsite at Bayou Segnette State Park and had a fabulous dinner in a gorgeous waterfront setting. No need to dress up. Located beside a dock, the atmosphere is low-country casual, but not shabby at all. This family-owned and operated restaurant is spruced up, pretty and clean with rustic charm. Tables are both inside and out. We dined on the sunny patio just before sunset. We shared a small bowl of gumbo, the crab dip appetizer, a crawfish pot pie and the smothered catfish. Everything - from the perfectly toasted croutons for the hot, buttery crab dip, and the rich and satisfying gumbo, the light flaky crust on the succulent pot pie, to the delicate lightly crusted catfish smothered in étouffée. We finished with an order of CRAZY GOOD bread pudding. I asked if they sell it to go. They charge $60 for a sheet pan of this golden goodness. Perfect to take to party. Altogether, this was an outstanding and memorable meal in a lovely and unique location. We would recommend Segnette Landing Restaurant to anyone who is visiting the area. read more

I lived in Westwego and Marrero for years, I've always scrolled past this place when it pops up on my phone. I'm so glad I told my husband to meet me for lunch there. They have outside seating which I love. The staff was very friendly and the food was amazing! I can't believe I never tried this place before. Went here for a late lunch while staying at the Bayou Segnette State Park. Very friendly staff and good service. We sat outside on the deck, great spot where there are fishing boats and some of the boats of local swamp tours docking. Shared the crab dip appetizer which came with crispy crostini. Entrees were crab cakes and the crawfish pie. Crab cakes were delicious and good sized with 2 in serving. Was able to take one of them home for lunch the next day. Crawfish equally delicious. Also had the smothered cabbage side which we agreed was one of the best things we've had in the south! We had triple chocolate cake and pecan pie for dessert- both delicious.
