    Steak Plate With Shrimp
    Cierra L.

We decided to order here at work and it didn't disappoint. Ordered the steak plate with shrimp and it was a generous portion for $27.50. The steak was cooked really well and was really tender. The loaded mashed potatoes were also good, I just wish it would have came with sour cream. The only regret I have is not ordering one of the specialty drinks. Not pictured was the egg rolls and wings with fries. Support this black owned small business, they're worth it.

First time at this place, the food was amazing. I got a blackened fish poboy. The bread was soft The fish was season to perfection. Wish I had more stars to give this place is fire.

I truly love this place. The owner is always so pleasant to speak with. I have been getting the same thing since I have been going because it is that delicious. Grits with cheese, eggs, toast and hot sausage- in other words, a quintessential New Orleans breakfast!! Lol. Go check them out. I can assure you won't be dissatisfied. Not fussy. Just simple delicious food!!!

Fam Bizz, friends, is always the right call. Fantastic food. Big portions. Great prices. We live in Broadmoor and work from home a couple of days a week. We try to drop by Fam Bizz at least once a month, and we never leave disappointed. Go support them, New Orleans!

I stopped into Fam Bizz on a Monday after hearing raves about their red beans and rice special. It didn't disappoint. The special come with a hearty helping of red beans and rice, fried chicken, potato salad and toast. The beans were delicious and flavorful and the fried chicken was perfect- tender and juicy. The food here is made to order, so you're going to have a wait if you didn't order ahead, but it's worth it. I wrote more about this spot for Big Easy Magazine. The Steak Night platter served on my dishes at home.

This is a new restaurant in the Broodmoor /Claiborne area that I had to check out and I was glad I did. This is more of a call in for takeout restaurant that has limited seating so I do not recommend dining in. I called in an order on a Wednesday which was their Steak Night and I picked up my order 20 minutes later with no problems. For $14 each I was able to purchase a steak, a side salad, corn, mashed potatoes and bread. Once I got home and served the steaks on dinner plates I was very impressed with the generous size of the steaks and how each was cooked medium the way we wanted. Both myself and my spouse found the quality of the food a wonderful surprise and again the portions were very generous so both of us were unable to eat our entire meal. FYI Family Bizz is NOT a nice fancy sit down restaurant, but they make GREAT food. I highly recommend Family Bizz for reasonably priced takeout soul food that will fill you up and satisfy you and your loved ones!

People if you are anywhere near this place you need to visit here. This is a hidden gem and so satisfying and the price is amazing. Owned by 4 brothers who have previously worked in the restaurant industry. It was worth every penny spent. We tried the seafood nachos and the BBQ shrimp Po-Boy. The nachos were AMAZING. I had to get the cheese sauce to take home. I am a nacho lover and these were great. Small container, more like an appetizer size but so good. Reading the menu I wanted several items but went with the recommendation of the Po-Boy. It was good but the sauce was definitely different than most BBQ sauces I have tasted, it was unique and tasty. Couldn't finish my Po-Boy and I truly hit a gold mine with the nacho sauce which is the same sauce on the seafood potato. I have my eye on the chicken and waffles and the seafood potato, so that's at least two more visits. Thursday special either shrimp and lobster or steak and lobster with a loaded baked potato, coleslaw and broccoli. I went for the shrimp and lobster and it was great. Lobster was average size so it sounds like a lot of food but it was just right. You will not regret a trip to this restaurant.

Ok I'll admit it. It may be cliche' but I did it. I ordered their red beans and rice with hot sausage on a Monday and I have to say it was delicious. The beans had a nice flavor and added ham hock and sausage gave it the extra kick. The potato salad is a mustard base and a tangy version of the dish. I chose the sausage option and to my surprise it was several patties and not a link which is what I was expecting. They offered large portions and for a reasonable $10 bucks. I thought it was worth every penny. They have a menu posted on door and above it reads "New Menu" so I am sharing the photo.

Ordered DoorDash from HDK on the cred of the many positive Yelp reviews and it didn't disappoint. Tried two dishes, as I couldn't settle on one. The fried fish and shrimp were outstanding! Loved the dipping sauce and the seafood was cooked perfectly. The fish fillet was about an inch thick and so moist and flaky. Yum! Not sure I loved the fries with the crawdat sauce - they were a little salty. This ff dish kinda gives poutine vibes with the gravy. The Superdome was also tasty. I liked the fried fish better than the blackened, but the mashed potatoes and corn and sauce draped over the fish was rich and delicious. This fish was much thinner and a little chewy. I'd love a hybrid of Superdome using the thicker fried fish. Bread pudding was my dessert, warm and dripping in caramel/brown sugar sauce. I had to restrain myself from eating the whole thing! This was a perfect way to start my visit to the Big Easy.

Unfortunately the restaurant was closed as the entire street had a power outage, but the chef very kindly came out to greet us and let us know what was going on and offered us some complimentary cold water for our trouble. I made sure that my group instead came back on our way out, and everyone raved about their meals and said perhaps it was best that we saved it for last! My Seafood Extravaganza came with a THICK piece of blackened fish, a generous topping of grilled shrimp, and excellently cooked fries topped with that crawfish sauce. My friends loved the grits and dark meat fried chicken in their meals. We all dug in so fast I'm sad to say I didn't take any photos to share! The chef came out once again to chat with us, and it's clear he really appreciates every guest. Heard Dat Kitchen offers the best of both soul food and Creole food under one roof with a good helping of Southern hospitality, and it's absolutely worth a trip or ordering in from the more touristy parts of the city. As our rideshare drivers testified, this is the real deal! Keep in mind it only has counter seating and outdoor picnic tables in a pretty small no-frills spot; I think the service and food definitely deserves to be displayed in a full-service restaurant if that is what the chef ever decides to do.

The place plays contemporary jazz in the background so nice ambiance. They also have TV screens playing sports. I ordered the fried chicken, cabbage and jambalaya. Everything is WELL seasoned! I love seasoned food but this was too much for me. If it was a bit less seasoned I would have enjoyed it more. My wife got the shrimp platter with corn and mac & cheese.
