Had a great lunch here recently with great friends. I believe reservations are a must as the number of seats are limited. The hostess also served as the waitress and was very helpful and attentive. I ordered several small plates for my meal. I had the fried oysters, beet salad, and shrimp bisque. The fried oysters were delightfully crisp with a wonderful and unusual sauce and salad. At first, I had the thought of asking for tartar sauce, but as soon as I ate the oyster with the salad and sauce, I was excited by the flavors presented. The shrimp bisque was also a surprise. Instead of the traditional creamy bisque, this one had a brown, very flavorful broth. Much more like a great gumbo than a bisque, but I loved it and could have licked the bowl for the wonderful sauce. The last was the beet salad and it was the least exciting. Although good, I have had better beet salads.

We'd divvied them up before I remembered the picture. Coconut rice, potato gnocchi with mushrooms, shrimp scampi

Strip mall fine dining, where you find the best in this town now. Small space, kind of loud so we had to talk over everyone else, but it was happy noise. Service was aces. $$ but not pretentious Metairie fine dining. You want to eat this. Go!!

Jonathan did good service. The restaurant is small. My friend and I really enjoyed our lunch. I had the steak . My friend had the crawfish bisque. They don't serve alcohol.

The food was incredible and absolutely delicious. The service was quick, warm, and friendly. The ambience was really cool, there's only about five or six tables inside, and the servers were very attentive. We loved everything we had here, and we will definitely be driving out to Metairie again for Dr. Jones! https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT6mg3XRy/

The food and service were very good. I ordered the mushroom gnocchi and my husband ordered the steak au poivre. We shared the bread pudding for dessert. Everything was honestly delicious. My only critique is that the restaurant is tiny and where we sat felt very cramped. I would rate the food quality and creativity of the menu somewhere between four and five stars; I just wish the tables weren't so tiny and squished together.

This tiny place is amazing! Seats maybe 20 people inside and four outside. On street and lot parking. Wood tables and slate floors. We had the tapioca and Camembert croquettes. Savory and rich with light breading and Parmesan sprinkle, grilled shrimp with spices on coconut rice with a miirliton slaw. Lightly spicy and very fresh. Also had the marinated cucumber with crispy buckwheat. Attentive service! Very friendly! BYOB! sodas and water. Make reservations online for larger groups! Vegetarian friendly!

Got to try Dr. Jones today on a friend's recommendation. I was absolutely thrilled I listened. Just walking in, the smell of savory flavors filled the air and built an instant appetite. The space is very cozy and inviting, perfect afternoon feel. We had : Meat Pies Onion ring fritters Mirliton and cabbage salad Roasted Eggplant Crispy sweet potatoes & Bread pudding Every single dish was superb. Full of flavor, filling and very nicely presented. Service was excellent, friendly and over all environment was great. I could be a regular here.

It's rare to step into a restaurant before the doors open, an almost behind-the-scenes experience…read more You get to see what makes people tick and who they really are. In the restaurant business, we all have a switch: once the doors open, it flips. Until then, you're seeing people exactly as they are. This team is genuine. Hands down. Yes, I know, I'm technically here for a king cake. Standing in line for a king cake from a famous fried chicken company almost feels satirical. But watching the entire team sit down together for a meal an hour before service told me everything I needed to know about the leadership and the values of this company. People matter here. You can see why the sandwiches are as good as they are. You can feel why the king cake is worth the wait. This team operates like a family; kind to one another, intentional, and connected. The food is made with care because the people are cared for. I'm not here to review the food (which is phenomenal) or the king cake. I'm here to review the brand. This is the kind of business we should be proud to support as a community. Keep it up.

I also like that they feature a daily special that isn't on the regular menu--it adds a nice element of variety. Everything is cooked to order, which is definitely a plus. Just keep in mind that most of the menu is fried, so this isn't the place to go if you're looking for a particularly healthy meal.

Chef Ron's Gumbo Stop is definitely a great stop if you are looking for great gumbo…read more The place has that dive atmosphere pretty much down pat. The service is decent, but the real star here is the food. I went with gumbo and boudin balls and both were very good. The only complaint that I can say is that they added a dollar onto my bill for using my credit card. I would definitely recommend here.

I went with the half oyster po-boy and gumbo combo. The sandwich turned out pretty well, with a good amount of fried oysters that were clearly cooked fresh rather than sitting for a while. Pretty good bread too. The gumbo was a disappointment though. I guess I've spent too much time on the bayou down through the years, because anytime a bowl of gumbo shows up without a scoop of potato salad in it I'm disappointed. Worse still, this gumbo was flavorless, bland and completely lacking of spice. Were it not for the dark color, I would have not been able to tell the difference between this and the sort of store-bought gumbo that comes from a can. The server kept an eye on me and my drink of choice, so props for that. Also, beware going to the restroom here, as the door doesn't seem to lock.

This is great place to go! It is kinda off the beaten path and easy to get to depending on traffic…read more More toward the west end near the airport. This restaurant is located in a great location. In a large shopping center. So parking is not an issue. They have plenty of parking that surrounds them. They have bunch of handicapped parking spots in the front with ramp on the right side. They do have a few steps in front for easy access. As you walk in, you are greeted by the staff. They mention that someone will be with us shortly. We went on a Sunday before it got crowded. They said we lucked out. They usually get busy when local churches get out. We quickly paid for our table and advised us we welcome to sit anywhere we like. They said they offer many discounts available. Please ask before paying. We sat at a table near the front of the restaurant and easy access to the buffet. They mainly have large tables with hard wood seats and no padding. The waitress quickly took our drink order. Started out with an Arnold Palmer. Rare that they offer that. I don't know so far that another restaurant that offers this. And an ice water. She mentioned that they offer a small selection of beer? We declined. (Drink responsibly) The first plate was sample plate to get my lay of the land. Unfortunately my first plate was full. I noticed that they offer gumbo. So I had to come back for another plate. No offense, the cup was not enough. I was surprised that they served fried swai not catfish. The cornbread was delicious! Usually they are dry at most places. Maybe they been sitting out so long they dry out. This is not the case with them. The gumbo was seasoned just right. It is only chicken and sausage gumbo. Not seafood. Usually you can tell when it is freshly made. To me, it not only look good but taste great! Unfortunately they did not have ice box cake available. Few of the reviews mentioned to definitely grab a piece. However, they did have freshly made bread pudding and chocolate delight. Both were delicious! I could go on about the food. I digress. They offer free Wi-Fi but is password protected. If you are in the area and want some good food. This place does not disappoint. In my opinion.
