This place was awesome! Service was good. Drinks were great! They have a real bartender that crafts drinks! On to the food... when you sit, they bring out this mini appetizer. I think it was some kinda pico de gallo. Pretty good. Ordered the shrimp and fried grit cakes. The shrimp tasted blackened. There was bacon jam but it was kinda hidden under the last shrimp. I thought the shrimp would be tossed in it. I definitely had the wrong idea. Lol The burger This was the best burger. Tho I ordered it medium and it came well done, it tasted phenomenal. It was juicy and delicious and I can't wait to go back and have another!
2 stars because the food was mostly good: -Chocolate ganache terrine was excellent -Chicken fried pulled pork was interesting BUT the service was so awful I don't think I can go back. Scallop dish was so salty it was inedible, the fries were salty, too We were a group of 9 but I noticed the smaller sized tables were having similar service as us. This ended up being a 3 hour experience in what felt like an 80° sauna where everyone in the restaurant was shout-talking. It was a lot. We were sat 45min after our reservation (we received a text earlier to come 15min later) and it took another 45min to get our first round of drinks. Our water glasses were empty most of the night, wine pairings were often forgotten, those who didn't do the wine pairing weren't asked if they wanted another drink, one main course wasn't made, and food was served without silverware. The courses were so spread apart we were ready to go halfway through the 3 course meal. I don't know if they were just down in staff, nothing was mentioned about why it was such a hot mess, or if this is how they operate now, or it's just dining in 2023?
You know you are going to have a meal worth writing about the moment you take your first bite. That is exactly how I feel about my dining experience at Boucherie. First, I was so happy to have been able to snag a table on a Saturday night pre-mother's day. The restaurant is in what might have been a home in the past. Very unassuming but once you're there, you will immediately know what the fuss is all about. I wanted a place a little farther from the busy scene so I chose Boucherie for that reason. We arrived, informed the host of our reservations and we were seated immediately on a corner table. The place was fairly quiet, had a full bar, and attentive wait staff. Our dining experience began with some smoked tuna ragoons with Louisiana strawberry dipping sauce. The smoked tuna was a little bit on the salty side but otherwise, the flavors between the sauce and the ragoons worked. For my main dish, I ordered the scallops which were divine! Very flavorful, prepared perfectly and the sauce was magnificent. I could have probably polished off another serving of it (on a different night, of course!). My meal was lovely and exquisite. My dining companion enjoyed some cocktails while I sipped on some wines for the evening. Overall, I had a wonderful and unforgettable dining experience.

The interior of the restaurant may be small and tight, but you definitely do get the nola vibes if you catch my drift! If you want a good night out, I would definitely give this place a shot! 1. We visited Boucherie on a Saturday and then returned the following Friday. We had reservations for 5:00 both times, which is during the happy hour. We had the Brussels sprouts and fries for the happy hour snacks and I had an Old Fashioned and Amaretto Sour for happy hour sips. The happy hour cocktail selections seem to change daily. The blackened shrimp and grit cake was nice! The shrimp were a good size and the flavor was good too! On our Saturday visit, I had the wagyu brisket with fries, and it was tasty. I think the sauce was kind of overpowering though. On the following Friday, I had the duck breast, and IT WAS AMAZING!!!! Easily a favorite! We had the bread pudding for dessert and I had the espresso martini (neither pictured, but they were very nice!)
Work flew me to NOLA the day after Fat Tuesday. I wasn't here on vacation so did my best to steer clear of the FQ. I enjoyed venturing out west past Tulane by car, including to this spot which was hands-down my #1 favorite meal of this trip. Reservations are easy on Resy and you'll get to pick between indoor and outdoor seating. A small converted cottage in a residential neighborhood, Boucherie is seemingly tailor-made for the pandemic with a charming, breezy, covered outdoor patio where probably 3/4 of the tables are located. The food was incredible. A half rack of smoked pork ribs from Niman Ranch gets served with onion rings and a delicious french onion dip. A thick filet of snapper is pan-fried to perfection, topped with a sharp agrodolce, and served atop grilled, herbed cauliflower steaks. We were also fortunate to get to try the evening's special appetizer of three onion beignets (fluffy hush puppies style) served alongside a sauce full of crayfish. If you see this on the menu, do not miss your chance. I'm still craving this dish. Service is lovely. The host and runners were efficient and the server was smart and incredibly intuitive. The creative drink menu and a yummy donut bread pudding rounded out our final meal in NOLA. Wish I lived closer or that we ate here earlier in the trip so that I could make a repeat visit!
Showed up on a Friday night at 5pm for happy hour. Enjoyed $3 draft & wife had HH Pinot Noir. Sat out on their cover patio which was cozy and well ventilated. Josie took our order and was excellent. Even though she had too many tables, she still took her time and gave everyone lots of attention. We decided to try the happy hour burger, salad, boudin balls, and fries. They were all awesome and priced well for HH. They have a Satsuma infused vinegar that was delicious on the fries. For dessert we got the Chocolate Ganache Terrine. It was still frozen in the center but excellent. And even better at home after it fully warmed up ;-) We will definitely be back and will bring friends.

We sat on the porch and it was perfect (if you know me, you know I love a good patio or porch) For our meal, we decided to do the Chef's Tasting Menu. Each course was paired with wine and it was soooo great! My favorite dish would have to be the Black Farms Wagyu Hanger Steak & they had beet mashed potatoes... I know, you're like beets, yuck! BUTTTT NOOOO!!! It was perfect. The flavors blended gracefully, you already know the steak was good, and that wine...Delicioso 2019 Tempranillo(Spain) set it all the way offff!!!! Everything was delicious, aside from the Watermelon Gazpacho (sue me, I don't like watermelon lol) but the wine was good for that course. Big shoutout to everyone at Boucherie! My son and I chose to eat here this week for Restaurant week because of the advertised Krispy Kreme bread pudding. Whatever reason you choose to go, it will be well worth it. We were greeted at the door by two very friendly staff members who created an on-the-spot song from our last name. What's not to love about a spontaneous song and dance? There are several options for seating, either inside or out. Regardless of where you choose to sit, there will be fantastic service all around. There are two different prix fixe options to choose from in addition to their regular menu. There is a 5 course or a 3 course option. You can add wine for an additional cost. My son chose the 3 course and I chose the other one. The menus were different, allowing us to sample a larger variety. We also chose the duck confit appetizer as well. I have zero complaints about anything we tried. I wasn't sure I would enjoy the watermelon gazpacho but I have been converted. Attached are the menus for this week. I highly recommend you review them, choose your reason to go and book a table.
Ohhh wow! This was an amazing dinner. Definitely the best pork chop I've ever had. The flavor and sear was incredible--thicker than I though could be possible... the sweet potato was unbelievably tasty too! The cheese plate was a nice appetizer with a good selection. Loved the seasonal ingredients in the salads too. My dad was raving about the duck gumbo--the roux was remarkable for sure. I'd plan to be there for a while, it's a long meal. But enjoy the company and warm ambiance. Make a reservation ahead of time!
I went to Boucherie with some a small party of 4 on a Saturday afternoon. I made a reservation and so thankful I did, the restaurant is very small on the inside with not a lot of tables but it was very cozy. The alternative option was to sit outside in the patio, which was very nice, but it was way too hot. I was seated immediately and brought water and the Apple pie starter and it was delicious!! A great first bite before the main course meal. My party ordered from the 45$ coolinary menu, shrimp and grit cake the the brisket and the Krispy Kreme bread pudding to finish. I also had the boudin balls (amazing!!) burger and Parmesan fries (on happy hour). The food was amazing!! Very well seasoned and definitely hit the spot! I also had the matcha daiquiri (in addition the the guava daiquiri-very good!) and it was amazing, very refreshing and strong! My type of drink! Overall, the wait staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations, our water glasses were always full and everyone was so sweet, in addition to the food and ambiance being perfect! I will definitely be back to enjoy happy hour again!
Managed to snag a reservation here on New Years Eve. Wasn't sure what to expect as I hadn't read up on this restaurant. I don't know that anything I could have read would have prepared us for what we were about to experience! Our ride dropped us off and I thought we were lost. The restaurant is very unassuming from the front. The name of the restaurant is painted on a board along the side of the stairway. Otherwise, it looks like any other house. We got there a little early, so we walked around a bit, then made our way over. They opened at 5pm and our resv was for 5:15. Great time to get there! Our server, Benjamin, brought our menus and let us know that it was a fixed, 9 course menu for the evening. Exciting! We were treated to a glass of champagne to start. We ordered a bottle of wine and prepared for the food to begin. I'm not going to go into every course. I will just say that the food was absolutely phenomenal!!! The meal was Asian themed and seafood prominent. Chef Nathaniel Zimet and the staff did an incredible job with the planning and preparation of the meal. If the regular menu is half as good as this was, you're in for a treat. Our top two courses were the Wagyu tartare and the lobster miso soup. We were having difficulty narrowing it down to two! As for the service... Benjamin was perfect! Funny, knowledgeable, and so quick to get us what we needed. The meal itself took a long time, by American standards... 3 1/2 hours from sit down to finish. Time flew! That is NOT typical timing for here, so don't think you will be here forever. Tonight was a special menu and special circumstances. I just hope that if anyone else posts about tonight, they keep that in mind. If you are in the New Orleans area, this is a place you must try. I wouldn't bring children here. This IS a spot for a special date or occasion. I wish there were more places like this around. 5stars just isn't enough.
This place is top notch! Perfect for everything from parties, dates, to solo dining! The food and drinks are both refreshing and classic at the same time! Everyone on staff is very welcoming and knowledgeable! Couldn't recommend this place enough. Good vibes all around!
Dined solo at Boucherie. It's a cute, cozy restaurant in what used to be a house. The decor plays into the homey vibe and there aren't a lot of tables. The bar has four seats, and there is no host stand. I had to wait a couple of minutes to be seated because they were busy, but that was fine. I started with the complimentary amuse bouche, a duck liver crostini, and some house-made bread. The butter was lovely. There was a list of specials; one of them was a potato dish in honor of Dolly Parton. It was probably the best part of my meal. I got the three course Coolinary meal: a scallop dish, the wagyu brisket and fries, and the Krispy Kreme bread pudding. Everything was good. I loved the citrus component on the scallops, but the fries were a bit salty and the dessert was too sweet for me. I will say that I heard the people at the table next to mine rave about the bread pudding. My server, Sophie, was attentive. She offered ice cream (at no charge) to go with my bread pudding. She was also apologetic when letting me know that the kitchen was backed up. My courses still came at the perfect pace for my liking, even though they were busy. Wow! The food is so good it had my non chatty husband singing like a canary. I've eaten alot of confit in my life and career (former Chef) and this was by far the crispiest and most tender! Mussels. So good we had it TWICE in one sitting! Great portion for the price!! Ceviche. Husband was being adventurous he said it was good but he was unsure about the "stuff" was fennel but he liked it. Shrimp and Grit Cake. Had hubby ranting and raving!! Shrimp were large, plump and perfectly cooked! Collards. Highly recommend dumping them in to the mussel broth it's tangy and has some bacon fattiness in there for a perfect savory flavor. Grilled Romaine Cesar. Was hesitant because it's grilled but WOW. My taste buds danced! Crab Beignet. More like a hush puppy but you could def taste a little sweetness and yummy crab flavor!! Cocktails/Mocktails: Def not on the sweet side at all. So if you like a balanced sweet/tangy def let them know more on the sweet side. Uptown dining at Boucherie was a night I won't forget. This is boutique, upscale, dining set in understated elegance that allows the delicacies to take center stage. My foodie family of three were on vacation to enjoy our winter breaks from school and ring in the new year with a unique culinary adventure. Each course had an optional Saki pairing to go with this Asian infused oceanic 9 course Experience. We enjoyed a complimentary glass of champagne and a beautiful bottle of wine. We even tried a Sazorac, just so we could say we did. I appreciated the leisurely pace of this 3 hour or so evening. Went here for Valentine's Day menu and it was everything I could have dreamed and more. It's a super intimate space with the nicest and most attentive staff. Amazing menu, amazing service for a very reasonably priced meal. I've drive past this restaurant many times and always hear from locals how good it is. It isn't super famous or touristy but somehow everyone who lives in New Orleans knows about it. I actually came here twice before writing an official review, once for their brunch and once for their dinner. Both times I had an amazing time. Brunch: 1. Eggs Benedict: SOOO GOOD. The Hollandaise sauce was delicious over the perfectly cooked eggs. We actually shared it among 4 people and everyone loved it. 2. Smoked Wagyu Beef Brisket with Garlicky Parmesan Fries: Loved the wagyu beef. It was perfectly flavored and went perfectly with the fries. The meal was a big heavy but we shared it so it was perfect. Dinner: 1. Blackened Shrimp & Grit Cake with Warm House Cured Bacon Vinaigrette: The shrimp was SOOOO GOOD and I loved the texture and firmness of the grit cake. It was dense but the sauce and saltiness of the shrimp balanced very well with the grit. The shrimps were huge and very crunchy and fresh. 2. Saint Louis Style Niman Ranch Pork Ribs with Creamed Corn Tamale & Black Garlic Crema: Hands down one of the best ribs I've ever had. I actually had very low expectations going into it because this isn't exactly a BBQ place (even though they sell BBQ next door). Usually places that have BBQ this good, only sell BBQ but their ribs are incredible. Extremely flavorful, fall off the bone. No BBQ sauce needed. 3. Pan Seared Swordfish with Grilled Farmers Market Ratatouille & Pisco Hollandaise: Swordfish went very well with the amazing hollandaise sauce. Just a warning the swordfish is very dense and can get a little dry but the sauce makes it more moist and flavorful. Dessert: 1. Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding: AMAZING. Amazing crunchiness on the outside and soft, melting flavor on the inside. You wouldn't even know it's Krispy Kreme without the name. I would order with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side. Makes it taste even better. 2. Chocolate Ganache Terrine: Amazingly dense Ganache that is so rich and amazing. It's hard to finish on your own because of how chocolatey it is. I had to only eat half and brought the rest home to finish with milk which made it even better. I still dream about how good this dessert was. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Overall, one of the best restaurants in New Orleans. I love how fancy it is yet laid back. The service is incredible and everyone is so nice. It's never difficult to get a reservation yet the restaurant is always packed somehow. Went there for the first time today and had the Reveillon tasting menu with the wine pairing. Probably one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Hats off to the chef! I had the shrimp bisque, blackened shrimp and grit cake, Coquilles St. Jacques, and duck. The Coquilles St. Jacques is the best scallop I've ever had. It melts in your mouth. Every single thing was lick the plate delicious. The pecan pie and bread putting were also exquisite. The staff was also superb. Every person was friendly and seemed so happy. The only thing I would recommend is to get more heaters. It was very chilly inside the restaurant. I can't wait to come back! read more

Great Happy Hour.. It is Tues - Sat 5-7 pm. I really enjoyed the old fashioned during happy hour. I also really liked the shrimp and grit cake and boudin balls. It's such a cute uptown location and great prices. There's an indoor and outdoor area. You can even sit on the porch. Found my new favorite happy hour! Boucherie's HH is Tuesday - Saturday (yes, Saturday!!) from 5pm - 7pm, aka prime dining time. The steamed mussels (only $10) were amazing with a broth so delicious, you'll want to slurp every drop. The boudin balls ($5) were another favorite and were crispy on the outside and savoringly delicious on the inside. But what else would you expect from a restaurant that prepares all their meats in-house?! We sat outside and they have fans plus the atmosphere is cute and welcoming. but you can sit inside in their house turned quaint restaurant if it's too hot ouside! Will definitely return to Boucherie soon for more of those amazing boudin balls! read more
Date night at this cute little spot last night was divine! The indoor seating is small and quaint, lighting a bit brighter than we like for evening dining. They also had a good sized area outside on the patio for guests to dine, but it seemed a bit toasty outside so glad I had made our reservation for an indoor spot. They were quite busy and a little understaffed when we arrived so it took what felt like a long time (possibly 8 minutes or so?) to be greeted by our server and get a drink order going. After that though, everything was amazing. They brought a little amuse bouche to the table with our first round of cocktails, and literally everything we put in our mouths was delectable. Cocktails: some interesting slightly savory ones we tried were the Quack Rose and Another Green Word-so yummy, very different! We also got the Crooksbury circle, toasted sunflower old fashioned, la segunda vez, and Harold Neville-man, do they know how to make a good drink!! Food: we did one five course Chef's tasting menu and then added a few things to make enough food for two hungry adults. We started with the grilled hearts of romaine salad, local greens salad (both fresh and super flavorful), and boudin balls (very meaty and tasty-came with only two). Next came our watermelon gazpacho (a cold salad-like broth/soup with a few shrimp and big chunks of avocado) and shrimp and grits cake (tasty shrimp with a bacon sauce on top of these yummy polenta-like cake wedges). For entree, we got the Wagyu hangar steak (came with mixed beets and potatoes as well as asparagus-cooked to perfection)-in hindsight might have gotten another entree for two people. And finally, we got the Kristy Kreme bread pudding for dessert-holy moly, it's like a funnel cake on steroids-just enough sweet with a yummy crust on top. Overall, the food was amazing and service ended up being wonderful after they finally made it to our table. The ambiance isn't quite as romantic as we normally like, but still cute. This restaurant is right around the corner for us! We went last night and the service was excellent! Masks all the time on all servers, masks covers for customers and hand sanitizers on each table. The food wow we got a few small plates and two entrees, great portions for two to share! If you are not a fan of blue cheese like me please mention to them! Definitely coming back! read more

We went there for our wedding anniversary and we were very disappointed. The patio was nice (even if the junk in the backyard could be hidden) but I wouldn't have liked to be seated inside next to the restrooms. There are tables literally by the restroom doors. Everything took forever to arrive, even our drinks. At the end, we cancelled the dessert (which just had to be heated) because it was taking too long. The boudin balls were excellent but the yellowfin tuna was served with chewy raw green beans, a " provençale " mix of vegetables that was sweet and not good at all and a potato croquette (which was good). For $32, I was expecting something finer and elaborated. My husband took the brisket, which was also too sweet and served with weird tasting overcooked fries. I had wanted to try Boucherie for a long time but the food didn't meet my expectations at all and was way too expensive for what it is. Won't go back. read more

Had an excellent dinner at Boucherie. Their happy hour is great - the bartender Benjamin makes a mean old fashioned!! We tried the ribeye, the duck, and the brisket - one was better than the next. Our service / server was phenomenal. Highly recommend if visiting New Orleans. read more

Wow. I was looking for something new-to-me in the area and am SO GLAD that I found Boucherie. This is a small quaint restaurant in an old New Orleans raised home. It's decorated for a more elegant, but not frou-frou dining experience. It's classy but comfortable if that makes sense. My honey and I arrived at around 11:15 for lunch and had no problem being seated. We perused the menu and had a very hard time deciding. We decided to order a slow roasted wagu beef poboy and a pulled pork poboy, then we split them. OMG. OMG. OMG. They were AMAZING. These sandwiches were over-the-top unctuous. The beef was debris style, there was a horseradish cream sauce, and the bread was just perfect. The meat was rich and so tender, the sauce had just the right amount of bite, and the bread was lightly crispy on the outside but soaked and soft on the inside. The pulled pork was also beyond tender, and was just sweet enough. Same deal with the bread. We were so full that we weren't able to order desert, but I swear, on the next visit I'm going for it come hell or high water. The choices were so up my alley - I saw Krispy Kreme bread pudding, and there was a chocolate ganache something or other. Before I close out I can't neglect to mention that the service was outstanding. I'm hoping to bring family here when they come in Thanksgiving week. This place is exceptional. read more
