There's a reason this location is shutting down. Absolutely terrible service made even worse through the pandemic. Now today they're picking and choosing who to give free gift bags to and making gross comments about people wearing masks. "This is a candy store, you can't eat candy with a mask on," uh excuse me? I know today's your final day on the job, but please be respectful to your customers. I'll be ordering online from now on. Good riddance. read more

This place is great! The first thing that caught my attention was service. WOW! As soon as we walked in, a young and very charismatic lady (I think her name was Mary or Marie) greeted us with this amazing piece of chocolate with coconut (I should have bought more of those!). Inside the store, there are so many candy and chocolate options in different shapes, sizes and packaging. The best part is definitely the chocolate display and you can usually find boxes with the chocolate you already tasted, ready to go. Prices are not too high but there are some gift options that are definitely on the higher end. I wish we had a See's Candy here in Louisville! This place is definitely worth checking out and I will surely return when I am in Cincy. read more

I love See's Candy! I was so excited when I saw a location was opening here. Hailing from Southern California, See's (or Ghirardelli,) was the candy to give and receive. Opening a box of Whitman's or Russell Stover's was disappointing. They can't compare. Great quality, texture, with rich flavors, See's is something special. I am partial to the dark chocolate varieties, but the milk chocolate is good too. A pound of See's Candy is a very happy thing indeed. Candy may be purchased in already filled boxes or you may choose your own assortment. They have truffles, nuts, chews, and brittle. Chocolate, caramel, butterscotch, and vanilla lollypops may be purchased in full or bite size pieces. They also make several seasonal candies. The emphasis is mostly on chocolates here. If you are looking for gummy candy this is not the place for you. Make sure to stop in for your free sample. The samples are of a full sized truffle. Yes, even if your don't purchase anything. See's is more expensive that drugstore chocolates, but they are also far better. I can't wait for an excuse, I mean reason to go again. read more

Whoa! What a wonderful thought a See's Candy shop in my home town, I was so delighted at the idea! But I was quickly let down by the costumer service, READ: extremely rude attitudes toward costumers in store. I live in Berkeley California where See's candy is quite popular and the sales people in California couldn't be happier to see you inside the store! This Cincinnati location does not follow that tradition. Mary See herself would probably shut it down if she entered, too bad she is dead. I have been a few times hoping to have a different experience but today sealed the deal for me, I have just entered and left the store for my last time! I was picking out boxes of candy for Christmas gifts, and the man at the counter (White tall, perturbed looking guy) couldn't have been less helpful, friendly or speedy. I was NOT offered a sample (a typical See's tradition upon entering the store) and when I asked for a sample 20 minutes into him filling my boxes, he rudely gave it to me and then told me to eat it! When I was checking out the total called for 68 cents and as I was paying in cash I said one moment while I grab the change, he promptly put his hand practically in my purse, how rude? It took all I had to not say, "NO I waited for you now you wait for me, and this won't take 20 minutes!" I've asked my Mother to remind me next year to buy See's in California and simply bring it back to Ohio in my luggage, a much happier experience! If you live in Ohio they do mail chocolates, and I would recommend that! read more

Candy is average, for that price grab a king sized Snickers and save yourself the trip. The staff is below average, I actually felt insulted in just 3 seconds of walking in the door. Helpful hint for the judgey lady with the tray of samples : if you have more than one flavor on your tray you should let me choose the one I want. You can still hand it to me, but you should at least have the courtesy to ask me. Only a MORON hands a complete stranger anything containing nuts without even asking if they are allergic!!!! Thankfully I am not, but nut allergies usually tend to be life threatening. What was that blond lady thinking? Not only that, but she handed it to me as if she was giving it grudgingly from her own reserves. The flavor was randomly picked and she did not even care to stop and explain the candies, or how they are made or the quality of the ingredients, you know... the selling points of any boutique candy. Guess what, I like my chocolate on the fruity side, not nutty and by so rudely depriving me of the chance to pick something I had a chance of liking she predetermined the outcome - I hated it. It was not only something I did not like, but now it was tainted with the taste of insult and disappointment. Working at the Kenwood Towne Centre I constantly see shopping bags from many different stores in the mall. Although I think Apple is the busiest store at Kenwood, the bag I see the most is See's Candy. Maybe I just notice the bags because I work in a place that specializes in desserts (think cakes made of cheese), or maybe it's because everyone and their mother literally buys See's Candy. My first trip inside was amazing. I walked in the door and was immediately handed a sample. (It would be remiss of me to not say something to the other reviewers on here that if you don't like the sample you're given then throw it out and move on with your life. It's a sample, it's supposed to be something at random in hopes you'll get something you normally wouldn't try and then buy some in large quantities at a later date. Also I've never been given a sample chocolate at Godiva, Aglamesis, or any other chocolatier in the city.) My sample was a chocolate buttercream and it was heavenly. Part of the reason I love it here is that the prices are oodles cheaper than the con artists at Godiva. $5 for a chocolate covered strawberry? That's just chocolate and strawberry, right? I usually get four amazing chocolate candies and it comes out to about $3 which is the same price as a cookie from the crooks at Great American Cookie Co. in the food court. The bottom line is their chocolates are money, the samples are FREE, and you won't spend the kid's college fund to get your antioxidants on (dark chocolate, people!). read more

I love See's candy but the service I just received in this store is really unbelievable. I asked that my 6 pieces be placed in a box because of the melting that goes on when they squeeze them in the bag. It was as if I asked them for the candy free. After I explained the purpose for the box, I was then trying to get additional candy and the young lady was almost appalled that I asked to purchase additional items. I am sure that the owners of the brand would be highly disappointed with the attitude and service I received. read more

As someone who grew up in California, See's is very nostalgic for me. I remember going the store with my mom, choosing my chocolate, buying my grandma's favorites that we inevitably brought to every visit. I love that there is a location in Ohio. It isn't the best chocolate I've ever had, but I still love my go-to favorites-- dark chocolate almonds and Toffee-ettes. I used to LOVE the lollipops as a child. It makes me so happy that we have a See's Candy in the Tri-State! The only way I ever get See's, is when I'm in California to visit my cousin and friend or when they'd send it to me! The staff was friendly and helpful. My favorite candies are the Toffee-ettes and the milk chocolate California Brittle. The Toffee-ettes are smooth and crispy on the inside and chocolatey and almondy on the outside. The California Brittle is super crisp and buttery with a delicious chocolate coating. It's worth the trip to the mall to get the awesomeness that is See's! read more

I am super disappointed at See's Candy Store in Cincinnati! I live in Columbus. The only store in Columbus was closed. I stuck with $75 gift card that I purchased. Buying online costs outrageous shipping. So when my friend took a trip to Cincinnati, I asked him to buy the candies with my gift cards. So I sent him the pictures of the gift cards. My friend didn't want to disappoint me and bought me all the candies I wanted him to buy with my gift cards with CASH!!! This is simply because this stupid store does not accept pictures or virtual cards but physical cards only!!!! How ridiculous it is!!! Who doesn't do virtual business in this world?!! No wonder this chain is keep closing because you moron doesn't know how to do business in 21 century! Terrible customer service!!! I would rather throw the gift cards to trash than spending ONE MORE penny in your stupid store! Let's see how long it will take for all See's Candy store to close in the U.S.! Being from California I grew up on See's for special occasions and resigned myself to never having Toffee-ettes again when I made Cincinnati my home...then a random trip to Kenwood changed that! The girls who work here are super friendly and helpful. read more

Wow...I have never been insulted by being given a free sample, but there is a first time for everything. I saw this new store as I was passing by and was intrigued as I have been looking for a good chocolate shop that is not Godiva or Ester Price (Both are just not really my thing. I have a favorite from my hometown and looking for something similar) I walked in and was interested by the selection, there were some unique combinations that I was thinking about trying. It was at this point the the sales lady walked up to me exuding a hostile and condescending air, abruptly hands me a piece of candy off a tray with many other selections and says it is walnut caramel, and walks away. I am left standing there with the chocolate in my hand and my mouth open. I hear her do the same thing to the two other people in the shop seemingly taking a chocolate at random and handing it to them. One was given a Pineapple truffle that I would have loved to try as I am crazy about pineapple. It really would have cost her nothing to ask my preference. I stood there awkwardly holding a candy I didn't want feeling like I was intruding on something meant for my betters. Seriously, it is a candy store, not Tiffany's. I wasn't looking for a handout, I was looking to buy. As I was already holding the candy, I decided to give it a try but not really liking walnut, I was unsurprised that I did not care for it. It was an utterly bizarre experience. I might stop back in and try it sometime but only if I can see that the sales lady I dealt with was not there.
