Awful website design. Placed an online order for pickup & it gave me zero time frame on when my order would be ready just that I'll receive an email. I got a confirmation email shortly after placing said order so I stopped by to see if I could grab it. Waited in line to be told it can be up to 24 hours to get my order. There needs to be a clear indication of this on the website at the time of ordering, at that point I could just walk in and order faster but I had already paid online so now I have to wait up to 24 hours. Only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is the chocolate is good but I'm not sure it's good enough that I'll be back. All of that trouble and I get an email saying my order is ready 10minutes after I leave the shop. This time they were handing out samples to the line. Who doesn't enjoy See's Candies? They make great gifts for any sweet lover. (I also enjoy occasionally gifting myself some See's Candies, which is what I did just the other day.) I visited most recently to get some seasonal Dark Coffee Scotchmallows. I love Scotchmallows and I love the taste of coffee, so this has definitely become one of my most favorite candies from See's. The store is clean and organized. Note that it does always become crazy here during the holidays, with people crammed inside trying to find the box they're looking for, made difficult by the line wrapping around the small store. I don't love that some employees seem to be either more friendly than others or some must be biased...I've seen employees ask customers sample preference, but the employee that helped me on my most recent visit, just gave one of their lollipops. I guess I should've just declined it, since I won't be eating it. I have fond memories of visiting various See's locations as a kid with my mom, and I enjoy the majority of the candies sold by See's that I've tried over the years. read more

Haven't been here in a long time. In the old days my Mom use to always got to See's and it's so funny that things are almost the same. Little old ladies still work here and are so nice. All in their white uniforms. Very comforting like Grandmas' They offered us free samples as I remembered. The store was stocked packed with chocolates. The sample was a chocolate caramel and so yummy. I came in to get my Mother some candy because se loves See's. There are so many but of course her favorite is bridge mix and had to throw in the summer sweets. The lady offered to help us and told us about the different chocolates. I tried to order online but apparently you cannot get free shipping if you use the gift cards. So we went to the EG store instead. We went around 1pm. I was the first customer. There is a line shortly after me. I already knew what I want so it is a quick purchase (takes time to assembly the custom boxes). Got the last of the seasonal bear paws. The ladies are very pleasant and offered free samples. Too bad I was wearing a face mask and could not sample until I was in my car (and since hubby was the driver and waited for me I gave him that free candy. He said he was about to pass out from hunger despite the take out lunch in the car...). Got some of his favorite since he paid for the gift cards (though it was for my birthday). I didn't ask for gift package since it's for myself (ok a bit for him too) and there is a line. Service is great and candies are great. The ladies always keeps the store very organized. Growing up on them, it's hard to find any other chocolates that come close to their level of quality. They're my absolute favorite chocolate brand. Every time I visit the See's Candies shops, the staff are always very welcoming and greet you upon entrance. I love that they offer a free chocolate sample each time also. It's a great way to sample other chocolate varieties that you would have never otherwise have bought or tried. I came in to pick up a pre packed pound of chocolate and it was nice to still have options between a mix of milk & dark chocolate, one or the other and even truffles. If you buy a pre packed box then you save about $3. You can create your own pound of chocolate for $30, which isn't bad since you get to pick each piece. "See's Candies." This name is always in my mind, even when I'm a little kid! They're the name of sweet. They're the name of chocolate. They kept the highest quality of candies and services for many years, including this one in Elk Grove. This store in Elk Grove is always clean, very organized, and has helpful employees. I always receive a friendly greeting when I walk into the store, even when they're swamped. The prepackaged chocolate or candy is on the left side, and the self-selection and cashier counter is on the right side of the store. So many yummy goodies. I wish I could eat it every day! Bordeaux, Butterscotch Squares, California Brittle, suckers, candy canes, boxed "sets" (giggles), truffles, peanut brittle, egg nog truffles, gold coins, Santa chocolates. There are some wonderful ladies who are the regular employees. They are cordial, possess excellent customer service and mist helpful. The uniforms are outdated yet on the other hand what would buying See's candy be like without the white dresses?! There are some new employees, much younger who don't possess the traditional pizzazz of the ladies or even ladies and gentlemen of other locations. But, my guess is they are holiday new hires and, hopefully, they will learn their way. No complaints just new, young people. read more

As you may already know I love good quality chocolate! Lolli & Pops, Godiva, Rocky Mountain, but I think See's Candies is King! Like everyone else i have been eating these chocolate delights since i was a kid. My dad's boss would give his employees a bottle of Scotch or a 5 pound box of Sees for Christmas . My dad always chose the candy. I normally buy my box gifts for other's at the Stockton location as i get a KP employee discount. The Elk Grove location i come to for my personal favorites which are the dark chocolate chew, Scotchmallow, dark almond brittle, the dark caramel patties. Kind of pricy to buy this way in the little personal bag but such good quality and i limit myself to just one or two until the bag is finished. Location is easy to get to, parking available, workers are polite and i normally stop in after a Chipotle order. read more

This the worst shop of see's candies that I ever visited the guys who work in this place are very races and not honest I went their many times to buy some candies from this store and because my wife wear cover they didn't offer us any sample to try and they said they have rewards program so if you buy four of five times everything time you buy they will give sticker and I collected five stickers and gave it to them they took the stickers and said we would sent you email if the rewards nobody sent any rewards it looked like the employee took the rewards for themselves and shared it between themselves they are mean and races. See's Candy has boxed chocolates that change with the season too. Don't forget to sample one free chocolate behind the glass counter and you don't have to enroll in a club to receive it. I docked 1 star because the service could be biased at times. For example, I was passed up at the cashier stand before at two different occasions, grumpy worker? I don't care, they're not going to ruin my dessert! My favorites are the Awesome (peanut brittle bar), Toffee-ettes (toffee/almond/chocolate mix), and the variety of Lollipops. They have a great selection of dark and milk chocolates, caramels, peanut brittle, lollipops, candy bars, boxed sets, holiday treats, and a few sugar free goodies among others. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and helpful. They always give away free samples. The candies are always delightful and fresh. The lone time my favorite butterscotch chews weren't right they replaced them no questions asked. If you're looking to save a little Costco sells discounted gift cards. You receive a total of $50 in cards for $38.99-a better deal than most of their other gift cards offered. We'll definitely be back but like all good things have them in moderation. read more

Super customer service! My uncle gave me a box of the prepackaged pound candy. But I don't eat a lot of the chocolates usually within the boxes. So I went in with the hopes of returning the box for something along my tastes. And to my surprise they did! They let me spend the credit spent on the box! So I selected my own custom pound box and walked out very happy! So lesson learned, if you get a box of candy you don't like from someone, you can return it! read more

As much as I love the product, I was very disappointed recently with a purchase via DoorDash. It was a 1lb box of candy purchased for pick up. After ordering I became very sick with the side effects from the covid 19 vaccine and was down for two days. I arrived on the third day after receiving 3 emails that my order was awaiting pick up. At sees they had no record of my order, although I showed them the receipts. I spoke to door dash who says I needed to make a complaint within 24 hours. None of the door dash receipts stated that I only had a certain time period to pick up my box of candy, which is a standard box of candy, not a special order. A few things problematic about this. After sees spoke with door dash they learned that people have 24 hours to pick up, although this wasn't stated on any reminders or my receipt. Also, at the end of the day, Sees was paid for a box of candy I did not receive. After an hour at Sees and with door dash on the phone, I was given a confirmation number for the call and told that door dash might be able to resolve. I also purchased nearly 3 additional pounds of candy while trying to resolve this issue. All this to say, I can understand if this was a burger that was made and needed to be picked up, but it was picking up a standard already boxed item. Also, it's probably illegal on some level to not give me my merch which sees has been paid for. I bet it's illegal, based on what instacart does in these pre order circumstances, where they refund your account if not picked up in 3-5 days. More to be continued on this.. read more
