I love The Cookie Jar! I've been coming here for years, and the customer service is always top notch. It's definitely one of my favorite places to go for homemade-tasting cookies. My favorite is the white chocolate macadamia, but since I never seem to make it in on Fridays, I usually get the white chocolate almond instead. It used to be one of the least expensive cookies on the menu, so I was a little surprised this time when I got two white chocolate macadamia cookies and a chocolate chip, and the total was close to $10. I've been here a few times. Service is awesome. Friendly, welcoming employees. Cute little spot to grab a quick treat, create a gift box, o cater an event. Always overwhelmed with the options and what the Cookie of the Day is o whatever surprise they have in store. It was such a cute shop. when picking the flavors, the clerk wasn't too helpful. We had the white chocolate almond, the snickerdoodle and chocolate chip cookie. These are my absolute favorite cookies when I'm in town. They're freshly made every day. So when they run out, they run out. They're soft and chewy on the inside but still slightly crispy. They're sweet but not too sweet. They are pricey but definitely worth it. read more

I'm a first time customer. I didn't know this store existed and would know today unless my friend took me there. It's tucked into the back of the Kohl's shopping center.Quite a long walk from the entrance to Kohl's. They have their own mini parking lot to go with the surrounding 4 businesses or so. The shop is petite. The gentleman that helped us was friendly and professional. He knew his cookies as we inquired about a few. They are all $3 with the exception of the s'more which is more. They have a good gluten free, sugar, free, and nut free selection. They even have one made with Splendia. I had my eye on the lemon one, it stated it was gluten free, I'm not on any special gluten restriction diet, but I am a lover of lemon and I got it. It was delicious. I couldn't tell it was missing the gluten. I also got the white chocolate Macadamia nut cookie in memory of our little girl Belle, it was her favorite cookie. The only negative side of the shop is the cookies are $3 each. That's a Hefty price tags for a single Cooke. It's probably the going rate for cookies these days. There is a lot of competition out there for cookie shops. My girlfriend took me to one in DOCO as they had gluten free cookies that she really liked so there is an audience that is after those gluten free cookies. So for them this sounds like a break through as those ingredients don't come cheap and if you only want a single cookie this is the way to go. I really liked there lemon cookie and if my girlfriend takes me back I won't complain. It was nice that it was here treat this last visit. We didn't even know this place exist until we went to the fried chicken chain next door. I love cookies but never found a place in town, so I need to try it out. This looks like a place with just cookies (no cake, brownie, muffins). Pricing is for individual piece and no bulk discount. Its listed on the chalkboard behind the counter and not on the window. The lady working there is very nice/pleasant. There is some allergy information written like about gluten free, which was nice (at least 2 types are gluten free the day I visited). There are lots of variety behind the nice window display (anything more than 20 varieties to me is a lot). We got 4 cookies for shy of $20. There is a 3% surcharge is you pay by credit card (not clearly displayed until check out of you read the terminal). I don't recall any seating area, so more like purchase to-go type. Its good to have options beyond crumble down the street. There is no cookie smell on the street to attract you to go in through door (like how the St Louis Galleria Cheesecake Factory, the only Cheesecake factory that do that to me! Or Christine's in Nashville! Or William Greenberg in NYC!). The store is not as brightly lit like most chocolate/cookies stores. You have to look up to tell it is a cookie store. I find it nice to have a cookie store you can go in and just get one as a reward lol. No fancy box. If the cookies speaks for itself you don't need the fancy box. Yes it is bagged in those ugly donut to go paper bag but who cares about the packaging if the cookie is good! So is it good? The cookies we got were: 1) White chocolate almond. First time trying as most places offer the white chocolate macadamia. I like this one the most. 2) Rascal, which is chocolate peanut butter. The lady at store is super patience to explain that to me when I asked. When I heard peanut butter I knew I have to get it! It taste as good as the snickersnoodles. 3) Snickersnoodles. That is what my hubby likes to get so need to get him to check it out. Whe I told him in the car he was like "did you get it?". What a cookie monster! It taste good. 4) Smores chocolate something that I fogot. It was the first one caught my eye in terms of appearance. It got chunky chocolate pieces which is nice touch. It had the Nestle Milk chocolate which came with an after taste which was not my favourites but it taste pretty good. If it were better chocolate this would be a much better cookie, but I understand it will be difficult due to the pricing. In general it tastes way better than Crumble. If it was open on the other side of the complex it probably will be busier. That side of the complex is usually too quiet until the Hot Chickz just opened. We will return if we come back to this side, and probably dodge milk chocolate cookies options because I am not a fan of the Nestle milk chocolate maltose after taste. read more

Customer service was non existent, the young staff that was there wasn't very welcoming when I came that day. The female took my money the guy grabbed my cookies. Place seemed clean but very small, their cookie casing showed the cookies they had to offer. Cookies were mediocre, just a regular cookie which I liked, not too sweet or over the top like Crumbl but not mind blowing with flavors. A classic cookie shop! I went to a coffee shop that had no cookies left, so of course I had to come here. This is such a quick little stop, with each cookie being $3 which is pretty standard. I got the chocolate chip cookie which tasted exactly like what comes to mind when you think of a chocolate chip cookie, something your grandma would bake. They also have a great selection of baked goods for sale and we both had a cookies and they were wonderful It is a little small inside seating area which seemed a little cramped. It was clean and seemed to be very well kept. Street parking can be a little tricky so you may have a small wall if it is busy but nothing outrageous. I visited the store today, 8/21 around 10:50am. My sister (also a Yelp elite) is visiting from out of town, and she really wanted to try this cookie shop after seeing decent reviews. Therefore, my husband and I visited the shop to pick up some cookies. I was on the phone with my sister telling her all the available flavors to pick up for ourselves and our relatives, 2 and a half dozens of cookies in total. Although there were NO other customers in the store, the cashier disrespectfully commented that it was rude to be talking on the phone when there is a no-cell phone policy. To our surprise, there is no legit reason to this policy as we were the only customers in store and my phone call was to discuss about the cookie order. We spent about $100 worth of cookies. When I have a craving for a cookie, I have two options...Cookie Jar or Crumble Cookie. Cookie Jar has an assortment of cookies in which availability depends on the day of the week. Whereas, Crumble Cookie has six varieties of cookies that change on a weekly basis. In addition, Cookie Crumbles cookies are EXTREMELY rich and can dang near act as a meal replacement. To satisfy my craving for a non-rich, flavorful cookie, I decided to take a walk (studies show that walking to your cookies makes them less unhealthy) to the nearby Cookie Jar. Upon stepping foot into the establishment, I was greeted by the smell of freshly baked cookies (I swear someone should convert this smell into a body wash). Per the recommendation of a friendly employee behind the counter, I opted for the Peanut Butter Toffee cookie (part of the "baked daily" menu). I wish that I could provide you with some magical description detailing how delicious the cookie was. However, the most I can say is that the texture and flavor was satisfying to my tastebuds. Cookies, Cookies, Cookies, I love cookies! I mean, who doesn't, right? I'm glad that Cookie Jar has at least a dozen different types of cookies flavors. But, buying cookies from a specialty shop is a luxury. Anyone can buy cookies at the grocery store, bake them at home, or buy them from many other locations, some sandwich shops even give cookies away for free. So if you're going to have a cookie store, you need to have something different, have unique and fresh cookies or sell a better experience/atmosphere or sell drinks that go well with cookies or just be really friendly and thankful for customers coming in. My family has been coming into Cookie Jar for years and I even had a 5 star review queued up that I apparently never posted. We dropped by Coolie Jar on the way to a store in the shopping complex. Cookie Jar is not our destination. Lately the Cookie Jar has not been friendly. They are picky about holding the door open for others since the maximum number of customers is 2. They are not friendly nor appreciative of customers buying cookies there. There is no hello with a smile. After purchasing cookies, there's no "Thank You" even after we say, "Thank You". Time to find a better cookie store. I see there's one across the street and I know they're friendlier. Note: New owner just took over recently. Not sure if that's part of the problem. read more

Coworkers and I tried a variety of cookies a few days ago, they are expensive, small and super dry. Not worth the $3 plus each price. Plus the staff is extremely unwelcoming and seem to hate customers. But now that I've read the reviews, this store has poor customer service for the last several years and seems nothing has changed. Please go to the Costo Business Center (corner of El Camino Ave and Watt Ave). My coworkers and I discovered that they sell a large box of about 25-30 plus of Otis Spunkmeyer frozen milk chocolate chip cookies, all you have to do is bake them for 10 min or so. Otis Spunkmeyer warm cookies are sooo good and so much betther than this place. Not quite sure how this cookie jar store is still in business and how there's different locations now. So my son bought us some cookies from the Cookie Jar. One of the cookies had a long blond hair baked into it. My wife called up there and asked for a refund on the one cookie. The employee(Benjamin) was rude to her and told her that they don't do refunds that they can only give here another cookie and hung up on her. I went up there today(24hrs later) and Benjamin was working. He told me the same thing, that they don't give refunds. I told him that was wild and why would I want another cookie when they have hygiene issues. Then I asked him would he eat a cookie that had hair in it and he said yes. I told him if he ate the cookie I'd leave without a refund. He ate the cookie. They clearly have some nasty employees and don't care about the quality of the cookies.
