I walked into this store yesterday with my toddler who unfortunately started being difficult and I had to walk out. A nice gentleman that worked there walked out and handed my son a sample. I was very grateful and appreciative with this employee. I decided to come back today to buy chocolate. I usually just grab the 1 lb ready to go boxes but today I decided to choose my own chocolates. The employee that helped wasn't very warm or nice. I had never chosen my own chocolates before so I was not sure how it worked exactly. When I asked if I was close to the pound she just stared at me silently and showed me the half way full box. I told her I was not sure what that meant. She proceeded to tell me that filling the box was a pound which was wrong because I didn't fill the box and went over the pound. Which I don't mind, what I did mind was her silence with my question. I've always had a pleasant and speedy experience at this See's location, despite it being one of the more popular locations. (As SCP is a destination mall for locals and visitors alike.) They are located on the first floor of the main building for South Coast Plaza, near the carousel and next to the currency conversion location. During the pandemic, they are enforcing proper social distancing via floor markers and limiting people in the store. All staff members are wearing masks and samples are being given out at the end of the transaction, individually wrapped. They are also offering online ordering and pick-up if you prefer. I personally felt very safe in the store when I went recently. Staff have always been very friendly and helpful when I've had questions. Also all of them have been great when it comes to packing a custom box and they make sure everything is packed tightly. Stock has been good at this location as well. I've rarely had a case where they are out of a product. read more

As a hardcore See's fanatic, I'm used to encountering really chipper and helpful employees. Unfortunately, I've consistently had the very opposite experience at this location inside South Coast Plaza. The employees always seem annoyed, overwhelmed and downright impatient. I literally just walked in the other day and immediately the employee in line demanded to know if we would be getting a bag or a box when we hadn't even had a chance to look around! It's really astounding considering I have no idea how anyone working in a chocolate environment can even possibly be grumpy, but it's truly negative vibes all around here. read more

I came here recently to buy candy for some gift bags I was making and found the most delicious 4th of July themed candy. This See's location had such a great selection that I was able to stock up on some wonderful candy for both my family and friends. Besides the cute 4th of July themed boxes with milk chocolate candy, they also had chocolate stars wrapped in red, white, and blue foil. I couldn't wait to make those holiday themed gift bags. I also bought some sugar-free peanut brittle, dark chocolate with walnuts, and milk chocolate bars for my diabetic friends. I even found some great candy for my hubby and son, both of whom are really picky about what they like. The service has always been good at each See's location I've ever been to, and this location is no exception. They offered us free samples as we shopped and also grabbed us a basket when our hands were full. The employees were really helpful here. I went to See's Candy store after I got off work. I was assisted by Ana very helpful in every way. Actually everyone has been pleasant and even the customers. Ana helped me get 50 chocolate cigars for baby shower and had great ideas of what else I do for the drive by baby shower . I ended up buying 90 candy suckers too. There was not enough of the chocolate cigars and Ana took my information down and ordered more for me and was able to also speak to Martha the Manager she made sure to get the needed number of chocolate cigars for me as well. The See's Candy store was busy because of Mother's Day coming up but Ana was fast, helpful and efficient. The chocolate are super sweet, just like Ana & Martha that makes you want to come back for more and believe me I'm coming back for more. read more

Tried the raspberry cream dark chocolate. The raspbery filling was more dark in color and had a more tart taste, but it still conplemented the dark chocolate very well. Very delicious!!! I will definitelt come back to try more flavors read more

This See's is like any other See's. Good service; tasty and fresh chocolate with lower prices than Godiva. It is best to customize a box (both for freshness as well as to make sure you get enough of your favorites). Like other See's, they pack the customized boxes here quickly. While I like See's chocolates, I was surprised at how expensive their chocolates were when you just buy a few pieces. You must get a discount when you buy a full pound box because my friend only got a few pieces and it was over $2 (still cheaper than Godiva though). I will have to check their prices on my next visit because it may just make a lot more sense to opt for the half pound or the full pound over a few chocolates in a bag. Parking is free in the large lot that supports South Coast Plaza. read more

Each time I walk past this store, there is usually no one inside. The one time I went in, there was a CRAZY line. Don't get me wrong, I was MAD that I had to wait for almost 20 minutes to pay for my one pound box. But, I couldn't stay mad when I noticed that the customer service was so amazing. The man that was holding up the line decided he wanted to pick each chocolate he wanted in his 5 pound box. If I was working there, I would have been curt even borderline rude, but the worker helping him was patient while he confirmed each choice before putting the items into the box. I love Sees and I especially love their chocolate almond clusters and vanilla lollipops! BUUUUT .. After this particular Sees location upset my sister yesterday (Halloween) I don't think I'd give this Sees at South Coast business ever again. We walked around South Coast Plaza Halloween night because my little brother and little sister dressed up and I had a couple things to buy. They went to Sees and the guy working (Hispanic, glasses and dark hair) gave my little brother a lollipop but refused to give my sister one because she was "too old". Are you kidding me? She's barely a teenager and she still had enough spirit to dress up.. is it really gonna hurt you or the company to give her one lollipop? I guess 60 cents is just too much to lose? But whatever, Godiva on the other hand was SUUUPER nice, complimented their costumes, were very friendly and gave them a handful of chocolate truffles that tasted amazing! Dark chocolate w/peanut butter would be a good addition to the already wonderful selection.
