We weren't really planning on buying anything but, we happened to past by right after having done GELATO right door... CHOCOLATE BUNNIES: 9/10 For the milk consistency bunnies!! Always a treat to visit See's Candies shop wherever I find them. One of my favorite chocolates of all time. Got a chance to check out their Newport Beach location at Fashion Island. Parking is plenty. Store was bright, clean, and organized. Lady staff members were very friendly and attentive. Service was great. I was given a couple complimentary samples... one was vegan dark almond chocolate and another was milk scotchmallow. Both tasted delicious, but I prefer the latter over the former. Thanks! I got my usual... milk almond buds, pecan buds, rum nougat, dark chocolate nougat, milk scotchmallow. Chocolates tasted amazing just like day one. Love my See's Candies! Smiles abound at this store of confectionery delights. Mary See would be proud. No sooner than we entered through the threshold, we were asked if we'd like to taste a delectable bite. Me being a sucker for a smile, and I guess, chocolate, (actually no guess, I AM a sucker for chocolate) I immediately acknowledged, "don't mind if I do!" Each in our party didn't mind of they did either. There were four of us, but we were given five delights. I'd like to think that I charmed an additional piece, but in actuality, a young lady was mistaken to be in our party. She was flying solo. I considered correcting this faux pas, but it's chocolate....and caramel!!!! Maybe next time. Everything you see in See's is good. The smiles are genuine and the morsels are too. Quick Tip: When I was a little one during Halloween trick or treating, if the house was giving out good candy, I'd ask for an extra piece for my sick brother. Seems that my brother was always sick during Halloween. That worked until a neighbor asked "which brother was sick?" Terrible customer service! If I could give this store a 0 star, I would. Today, I visited this location for long awaited chocolates, however, I was disappointed with my experience. When ordering my assorted box, apparently someone's dog peed on the floor leaving behind a foul smell and a smeared floor. I assume they failed to own up to their mess. Logically, I reported this hazard to the staff but the young lady at the counter's demeanor changed completely. I didn't even bring in any pets and there was other clients around. I understand this isn't a pleasant situation as an employee, however, she was upset as if this was our fault. Furthermore, we were no longer assisted by her but instead her coworker. I will no longer be returning to this store. The employee's attitude was unreasonable and unpleasant. Next time, please do better and simply ban any pets or clients with pets. read more

My guilty pleasure. I love the Walnut and Pecan roll from See's. I can definitely eat an entire 1lb box of this stuff. Unfortunately I was unable to purchase EITHER at this location because they seem to be out of stock of everything under the sun... None of our favorites were available so we ended up purchasing a bag of Chelsea and Bear Claws. The girl working that day simply did not have strong customer service skills period. What a nice location! I came by with my friend after dinner. A sweet young man helped us both and was very professional, informative and helpful. I always love it when someone that works for a company and knows it's history. I believe his name was Jeff and he gave my friend information on why her favorite candy is no longer available and some historic information about the company. He custom made two boxes of chocolates for us and wrapped them beautifully! I love great customer service and this location definitely has that! I was buying 1/2 pound of candy to give to my relative visiting from another country. I asked the gentleman there if he can please put them in a small See's box. He told me that he can only do that if I bought more candy to fill the box. Ok, 1/2 pound of See's candy which was $12.99, was not worth a small box. I took the candy in a small paper bag, which looked really cheap to give to guests from another country. They always make sure to greet me and also try to be a little more conversational. The location is easy to find since it's in the newly built area, just right outside of Macy's. This location definitely merits more than 3 stars. I went here a few days ago to buy some chocolates for a friend and had a pleasant experience. They gave out a sample (milk chocolate caramel of some sort) while I was in line (although this is characteristic of all other See's locations). I asked for the smallest box they have available, and it is the 1/2 pound box, which fits around 10-12 chocolate pieces (I paid $10-11). The person who was helping me was really friendly and courteous, and was helpful in making choices. I wish I remembered her name because she definitely made my experience a positive one. read more

Friendliest staff, offered us samples of some featured delights. The Nuts and Chews sampler, which we have had before is our FAVORITE pre package, bought three pounds! Two pounds will make it home! These are by far some of the most decadent, smooth and fresh chocolates I have ever had the joy to eat! There is a See's in Manhattan, but something about the West Coast versions of these heavenly chocolates makes them more divine and necessary to the West Coast trip experience. Recently opened at FI, See's Candies is to Californians what Purdys is to Vancouverites, Garretts is to Chicagoans and perhaps even what Jacques Torres is to a refined, chocolate loving, NY'ers palette. The only difference is that the shops are white and almost clinical in nature and a bit reminiscent of the Laura Secord's found in any province east of BC (for inquiring minds). So, I've always enjoyed See's as much as I do all of the aforementioned addictive, thigh-enhancing establishments. The shop is huge, spacious, clean and sterile, and no other person could be seen in the store, either, because I can only assume that most people are: a) trying to restrain themselves in the new year or b) beautiful people who shop at FI don't eat chocolate. At any rate, this only made me feel guiltier upon stepping in. Nothing was on sale, and they had no Christmas leftovers, which was also probably a good thing for me. The girl behind the counter was quiet and seemed standoffish at first, but did walk over to offer me a mint sample that tasted like a Cadbury Crunchie bar. It satisfied my craving enough and although I love their pb chocolates, I decided that I, too, must move on before I did some serious damage. Still, I've come to love this chain as much as any local enjoys it, and if I actually needed to purchase chocolates for someone else, I'd come here again when shopping on the Island. read more

I understand that times are difficult with Covid but was so frustrated that only one person was working the counter right before Christmas. Waited a long time outside then even longer inside to get someone to help me. Most of my order was wrong and I was given items I didn't want and didn't order. Spent $130.00 and now realize See's isn't trustworthy. No customer service whatsoever. Save your time and money and go elsewhere. These were gifts and never again will I rely on See's.
