Strawberry shortcake, green tea, double mango and black sesame mochi creams
    Desiree S.

I've tried a few things from other J.sweets. However this is the first time I tried a mochi cream, specifically from this location. This place has a lot of different sweets. They have them all set out so you know how they look. So I'd say organized, and you're aware of what you'll be getting with whatever treat you get. The sweets look so beautifully presented, and from my experiences from other location, the quality has never disappointed. I went to get mochi creams twice at this location. The first time I tried the strawberry shortcake, double mango, green tea and black sesame. My top favorite flavors are strawberry shortcake and double mango. Strawberry shortcake had a whip cream blended with cake pieces, and between that a strawberry puree inside a pink mochi. It was light, and full of flavor. it tasted like I as eating a strawberry shortcake. The double mango didn't used an artifical flavored mango. The cream was mango flavored, with a mango puree inside the cream. I didn't like the green tea and black sesame. Both had mung been inside. Green tea was covered in matcha powder and had green tea flavored mung bean and cream. I'm not a fan of mung bean. The black sesame was the same, it had a black sesame mung bean flavor with cream. I wouldn't get these. I didn't pay attention to the service the first time, but I did the second time. The ladies working are very sweet and attentive. They smiled the whole time, and I appreciate a smile when it comes to customer service. I got the banana chocolate and peach yogurt. Both also had mung bean, but the chocolate flavored made the mung bean in he mochi bearable. I believe the mung bean was banana flavor, and the cream was chocolate cream. There were also chocolate chips. Then the mochi was rolled in cocoa. The peach tasted like medicine. The peach flavoring was not good. Overall I'd say get the strawberry and mango which apparently, were both top sellers there. The banana chocolate is descent as well. So I'd go back for these three for sure!

Top: Raspberry Millefeuille, Matcha; Bottom: Double Mango, Caramel Pudding, Strawberry Shortcake

3/11/2023 Been here a few times, but only bought the mochi here. I bought all the flavors - minus one - so thought I'd post a new review. FLAVORS Raspberry Millefeuille, Strawberry Shortcake, Double Mango, Sakura, Peachy Yogurt, Caramel Pudding, Chocolate, Green Tea, Choco Banana, Black Sesame, Café au Lait Favorites: Strawberry Shortcake - Bursting with strawberry and cream flavor! Double Mango - Mango and cream. Very fruity! Peachy Yogurt - Tastes like peach yogurt, but with more peach flavor. Café au Lait - This is a monthly flavor. Tastes like cappuccino in mochi form! Delish! Don't miss out on this flavor! Honorable Mention: Raspberry Millefeuille - I would recommed for first timers because it is unique, as it has this crunchy and sweet filling that resembles puff pastry in millefeuilles. The millefeuille and raspberry jam together kind of reminds me of peanut butter and jam, although it does not have peanut butter in it. Not Good: Sakura - Sakura disappointingly had no flavor of cherry blossom. Choco Banana - It had both flavors of both chocolate and banana, it also had mini chocolate bits inside as well, but did not like it. Caramel Pudding - Tasted like vanilla pudding, but with little caramel flavor. The filling was like a thick pudding-like texture. STORAGE If you are not eating right away, please store in the freezer. When ready to eat, please defrost at room temperature for 3-5 minutes before consumption. The mochi should be soft when pressed down and the fillings should have melted to a soft cream texture. CUSTOMER SERVICE Good service and everything was packed quickly. You can pay with card or cash. LOCATION Inside Mitsuwa Market. As soon as you walk in, it will be to your right.

Amazingly delicious mochi w creative flavors! Strawberry shortcake: delicious typical strawberry shortcake flavor. I thought it was good, but nothing that made a huge impression. Sweet potato: very potato-y. It has the typical sweet potato taste that I'm used to. Red sweet potato: a very light flavor that tastes exacrly like cafe bora's purple potato soft serve. Very good! Sakura: amazinggggggggg! Tastes exactly like sakuramochi! Raspberry mille feuille: very rich mochi bc of the white chocolate layer. Has a crunch due to thin wafers. I really liked it!

Well, all I can say is to look at your receipt. The lady accidentally charged me double the price of 2 items. So overcharged by $20.

They were handing out samples of their hazelnut chocolate bars, and after one bite, I knew I had to step inside to look around and try some more. Such luxuriously rich and smooth chocolate morsels that melt so exquisitely in your mouth (where you can taste and smell the layers of quality ingredients contained in each piece). Really took me back to my last trip to Switzerland when I overindulged in chocolates and fondue (and it was so very worth it). Pricing is by the pound if you get items a la carte. Truffles and pralines are $84 per lb (works out to be average of $3 per piece) and their chocolate bark bars (aka FrischSchoggi) are about $60 to $64 per lb. Otherwise there are prepackaged boxes at set prices ranging from about $20 to $150 and more. Today I sampled the hazelnut chocolate bar, pava praline square, a white chocolate espresso truffle, and a champagne truffle. I ultimately decided to purchase the pava praline set (comes with 8 pieces) and 5 pieces of the white chocolate expresso truffles. Total was just under $40. Truffles came in nicely designed, minimalistic boxes. They are located on the second floor of the Bloomingdale's wing of South Coast Plaza, above Sephora.

Asian chocolates, on the other hand, tend to be lighter, less sweet, more delicate and subtle on the palate. Frenchian chocolates felt like they sat comfortably between both worlds. They were pleasant to eat, not as heavy or intensely rich as traditional Belgian chocolates, yet not bland or lacking in flavor either. The sweetness was well balanced, and the flavors were enjoyable without being overpowering. I probably would not go out of my way to purchase them again, but for those who prefer chocolates that are not too sweet or too bold in flavor, these would suit their palate well. Overall, I had a good time tasting them. Happy Valentine's Day!

The chocolates are beautiful and really are eye catching, with different colors and shapes and great flavor profiles. For example, the earl grey chocolate has the essence of tea but is not overpowering with floral notes and certainly a great treat. I was able to sample several pieces with my kid although we primarily visited this shop to pick up the viral dubai chocolare (at least during the time when dubai chocolate flavor was getting hyped up). The service from the associates have always been great, as I've visited randomly since this location is close to Jamboree Rd and in the same plaza as a self car wash spot. It may be a bit pricey but it certainly is a unique chocolate boutique shop with lots to offer. It may sound very corporate, but I feel like this is the type of chocolate you would want to order to gift a bunch of office team members or to distribute as client gifts during the holidays. All in all, great shop with great chocolate!

I spotted Moulin and, having enjoyed a few of their other locations, decided to grab some coffee and a pastry. The staff were pleasant and efficient. I ordered a café au lait and chose an apple tart to go along with it. I think there was a table inside but a lot of tables outside in a courtyard area, some specifically designated for Moulin customers. There is a window behind the front counter which allows a peek into the kitchen where the pastry chefs are at work. The coffee was smooth and made with a good roast; there was plenty of foam on top and it was immediately drinkable. The tart was fantastic. A perfect crust with delicious thin-sliced apples in a yummy goo underneath (not sure what the flavor was but I loved it). The sweetness was spot on - somewhere between "Asian sweet" and "American sweet". The "sweet spot" of sweetness. This location of Moulin, like all the others, is sure to please you.
