They listened carefully to my concern areas, and came up with a combination camera & security system that addressed them. They also installed a home theater system in our family room. My comments are identical for all three pieces of work. Similar to Wesley's comment below, at NO point was there any attempt to up sell or push for additional equipment or services that I did not need, on the contrary, they very respectfully pointed out concerns or ideas that were "overkill" and actually reduced scope in some areas. Install was extremely professional, with an extreme attention to detail. The quality of the finished product and the extreme care to a "clean" installation (hidden wires, etc.) was exceptional. They made sure that I understood operation of all equipment and that all my questions were addressed. And equally (perhaps more) importantly, post install consultation, additional service, repairs to equipment damaged by other contractors (Harvey rebuild), and help with changes in Internet Service has been extraordinary. Their prices are more than fair, for equipment and for install labor, and their monitoring prices are generally better that the big names. We have had a few alarm events (thankfully all false) and their response time beats experience I have had with two other big name providers. Lastly, I should point out that the above relates to our principal residence. In addition to this, they also provided camera monitoring equipment and security system monitoring services for the house we had to rent while ours was being rebuilt post-Harvey. They demanded we "upgrade" just to keep the service, and jacked up the price by 78% from the old rate. We put up with this until this month, then found several companies with much better deals and service reputations. When I called Hawk they did not offer to match the lower rates, but insulted me instead and told me I had to pay in advance for June PLUS they would not cancel service for 30 days. I don't usually post reviews but you need to stay away from these guys, they are ALL about money and can't be bothered to even try to be polite.

Holy Cow! You may want to think twice about using this company! I hired them to do a simple job. I…read moreneeded two Cat5 drops installed at my home and to mount two wireless access points. It turned out to be a fiasco! (It started on a Wednesday) He ran the drops but did not understand the instructions for using the Aruba wireless/ HPe access point mounting kits (part number: AP-220-MNT-W2W). In the process, he cut up and damaged one of the mounts as well as made over 8 screw holes in my ceiling. When he was "complete" he quickly took my check and left. Within the first hour of his departure, the AP's received power via POE, but no data. I immediately called and texted him about the issue. He assured me that he was currently going to his next job, but would return the following day (Thursday). The next morning, I texted him at around 8:30 am to confirm he would return that day to correct the cabling issues. I received a reply, that he was indeed planning on returning that day to fix things. At 2:22 pm, I once again texted him to see what the ETA was on returning. His reply was that he was finishing up a job and would text me when he was on the way. At 6:33 pm, I received no calls or texts, so I once again texted him to see if he was indeed still coming. The reply was "I'm heading to pull footage for the cops", whatever that means..... After that text, I never received a call or text again. Fast forward to Sunday, where I had to hire another cabler to come in and fix this guys shotty work. In short, he made several unnecessary holes in my ceiling, cut up and damaged an AP mount kit, and literally mis-wired the RJ-45 end connectors. He literally flipped the pinouts from left to right. In short, clearly, this guy is a jack-leg who doesn't know what he is doing with regards to Cat5 drops, RJ-45, Ethernet, and keystone connectors. He tried to take the "money and run", so I had to put a stop payment on the check.

Based on my experience, I can't recommend it to others. The sales demo was impressive. They demonstrated a camera capturing a readable license plate from approximately 200 yards away. In real-world use, my experience has been nothing like that. For example, when my neighbor experienced a theft directly across the street, my system failed to capture any usable images that could help identify the suspects or their vehicle. When I raised these concerns, I was told the poor image quality was because I was viewing the footage on my phone. I purchased a high-quality monitor to eliminate that excuse, but the video quality remained well below what was demonstrated during the sales presentation. I also purchased what I believe was an eight-camera system, including a PTZ camera that was advertised as automatically tracking people and vehicles around my home. Despite multiple service visits to "fine tune" the system, it has never performed as advertised. The tracking has been inconsistent, and the overall performance has been disappointing. Another frustration has been the lack of documentation. I was never provided with clear information explaining the capabilities, limitations, or proper configuration of the various cameras, making it difficult to know whether the system was operating as intended or simply not capable of delivering what was promised. Now, with the company's Chapter 11 bankruptcy, I'm left feeling that many of the promises made during the sales process were unrealistic. Whether the issues stem from overpromising, poor implementation, or something else, the end result has been the same: a system that has not met my expectations despite repeated attempts to resolve the problems. This experience has been an expensive lesson. I genuinely hoped the system would provide the level of security that was advertised, but after years of ownership and multiple service visits, I cannot recommend it.
