After unfortunately falling victim to break-in where the burglars broke through the glass of my french doors, I was researching online for better ways to protect my house when I came across SSD. I dropped them a message and David responded promptly with a reasonable quote and we scheduled a day for him to come and take measurements. When he arrived he took the time to walk me through all the options and once we decided it took about 4 weeks to get the doors produced, but they were definitely worth the wait. The screen doors look modern, minimal and much more aesthetically pleasing than your typical old school iron bars, but they feel just as secure. I can even sleep at night with my french doors wide open and the screens locked and have a nice breeze come in, keep the bugs out, but most importantly, I feel safe in my own home again. David did such an amazing job with my french doors, that I had him come back and install 2 more screens for my windows that look equally as great. We've had our new security screens since July or August. When I messaged David, he messaged me back the same day and offered to stop by to size up our front double doors. and to give me a quote. The cost wasn't cheap (but neither are these doors). He kindly left me with the quote to discuss it with my husband. Then we called David the next day to buy the screens. He came right over, we signed paperwork, gave our deposit, and waited the 4-6 weeks for our new screens. David did warn us that with COVID19, it might take a little more time get our screens (they're custom built in San Diego), so we appreciated the heads up... I checked in with David at the start of week 4 and he said everything was still on schedule. I think it was at exactly 5 weeks that David called to let us know our screens were ready and he could install it the same day he planned to pick it up. We said yes! I dont recall what time he came by, but he kept his promise and came by right after picking up the screens, to install them. Took him a total of an hour or maybe two to install the screens. He was a very fast and quiet worker! And he didnt leave behind a mess! The screens looked fantastic! The door lock took us a second to figure out, since it was new and was sticking a little. He had matched the lock keys to our existing front door keys, like we requested, but I think my key was a little old so it didnt turn easily and seemed to get "stuck" a little. My husband's front door key worked fine. In any case, we called David for help and he came by the next day to fix it. He also installed a door stopper, which made it convenient to open the right screen door and prop it open... Now we can leave our front doors open with these screens closed and locked, and know that our house gets a little more light and a lot more air, while keeping our family safe! These screens are absolutely beautiful. Clean and simple. And worth the money! Thank you, David, for the quality product and also for your amazing customer service.
