The area seemed safe and secure and the staff were all super friendly and helpful. What REALLY blew me away was the customer service. I had paid for my unit but was not moving for another 1.5 weeks. I had another storage opportunity come up and was no longer in need of the unit. I called and was very grateful I could cancel and receive a refund, even if it would take a while. Granted I had reserved and canceled all in the same day and had not moved anything in to the unit yet. I was blown away with the customer service. This place is horrible I was able to get into a unit for 65$ which they failed to mention at the time of set up that after 6 months the rate would double. After calling the 1st of the month to try to move out they told me as long as I moved out before the 15th I would be able to get a partial refund. After moving out I reached out to the leasing office and told me that they would not issue a refund for the rest of the month. Needless to say this place is cheap , dirty , over priced and dishonest I would not recommend this place to anyone. Also the only reason they have good recommendations is because they credit their renters to leave a good review ... do not be fooled lol. read more

Do not use Security Public Storage if you are looking to park a trailer. They allow people to park recreational vehicles that are twice as big as the parking spot which makes it impossible to access your spot! Absolute joke as a facility that allows parking of vehicles, trailers, and boats. They should just stick to storage units. Justin, We don't need assistance parking our trailer. We are more than capable of parking it. It is not tricky, as long as you know how to drive/park. Assistance would be appreciated if you didn't allow vehicles that clearly do not fit to store there. read more

In between places, stored some miscellaneous stuff here for the first 4 months and got 50% off, great deal during that times special. Their staff is friendly and very detail oriented, especially as we dealt with Nancy who was a great help and is very professional. As well as their security with plenty of cameras. They have boxing material on site however do charge for it. Their access hours are limited however and not 24 hours, as well as once the 4 month special was up they do not let you extend that rate and it goes up to the full rate automatically, but can get a discount if asked. Trying to leave Security Public Storage facility after hours I was locked out (my bad)! I tried to get a hold of Security Public Storage in Sparks, NV (after hours number) and also calling the manager living on site. Calling nurious times being unsuccessful, yet leaving many messages and knocking on the door of the managers living on site no one answers. I had parked my car while waiting for my friend to pick me up feeling safe in my car. Not the best neighborhood area. A couple of cars had tried to access the storage facility but, unable to enter they were turned around. 45 minutes had passed and another car drove up to the gate and apparently he had access... as the gate opened they entered and I drove out! That night nor the next day I had not received a call from the office asking about my safety considering all the messages I left on voice mail. read more

I have experienced ok customer service here, couple of the older woman can be extremely rude and seem lazy. I've seen the ladies go out and clean up some of the units and they look disgusted. They have cleaned human feces and disgusting items that people leave behind. You should hire a cleaning crew licensed to clean up the hazardous materials. I'm sure the ladies don't get paid enough. I rented a U-Haul on-line for pick up at this location. When I arrived at the contracted time, I was informed by a rude gentleman that "the guy that does U-Haul is not here". I asked when he would return and he said: "I don't know". I asked if we could call him, and he said: "No". I asked to speak with the manager. He said he WAS the manager. The manager there is Enrique Castaneda. I can't imagine that the guy I spoke with was the manager, as he was not knowledgeable, he was rude, and seemed overwhelmed to have someone with a U-Haul appointment in front of him - but who knows. I went to the Oddie U-haul and they told me that it was a common occurrence with people trying to rent U-Hauls from the Security Public Storage location. I would stay far away from this place with the attitude of the people who run it. read more

I arrived in Sparks in a U-Haul truck, so I turned in the truck here. What a pleasant surprise -- they also run a storage rental facility, which was the best, because I wanted to unload my stuff and turn in the truck while I took my time to find a place to live. One stop! I unloaded the truck right there in one of their storage units, and turned the truck back in. Lucinda and Carlos were friendly went out of their way to be helpful. On my return to get my stuff, I rented a U-Haul van. Again, friendly and helpful. I moved my stuff into my apartment home, and returned the van without a hitch. They took the time to help me find the best solution for my needs. They also held the space for free until I was ready to move my stuff in. They also don't require a deposit which is very nice. When we arrived at the reservation time to pick up the truck we were informed the manager was the only one who could handle U-Haul rentals and he was gone. We asked when he would be back...just thinking we missed him. We were floored when he would not be back for 4 days. This is ridiculous. Such poor customer service and reflects on U-Haul image. The employee offered no apology, did not have any idea where another U-Haul dealer was located. Looking over the reviews on Yelp not the 1st time this has happened.
