How you talk to people matters. I lived in my neighborhood for over 3 years and our HOA / builder contracts security with Securitas in Koa Ridge. I've never had any issues and appreciate their presence, but I had an unpleasant situation on 08 SEP morning with a security representative in a truck who was threatening and threw explicit language at me and kids because we walking near a barrier sign. We are not a threat to your security and there's no reason to be extremely disrespectful to residences. As a 7 year ex-employee of this company I am in shock that the staff at the Honolulu International Airport can get away with treating people the way that they do, if I had had the NERVE to speak to people the way they do I'm sure that I would have been reprimanded or disciplined. I don't know what their deal is but they need to sit down and remember that they are nothing more than contract security guards, that's it. . .they are nothing special but they act like they rule the world. I don't care if it's the airport, you aren't a police officer and if you want to play pretend then maybe you should actually join HPD instead of Securitas. The guards here are rude, crass and loud when they aren't outright asleep as we witnessed when we went to Missouri but I was still working for them at the time so I couldn't say anything about it. Securitas needs to audit this site and see what improvements need to be made, send some plain clothing administrators down here during busy times and see how far these guards go for things that make absolutely no sense. In the non-recommended reviews I see a guy talking about how they were yelling at him for adjusting the mirrors on his car before pulling away and my interaction was almost the same. We are loading up, buckling our seatbelts and adjusting the mirrors, I don't need a contracted banshee outside my window yelling at me that I need to get going and I can't be there. I'm telling you in plain English "I am adjusting the mirrors, give me a second." which is more than enough information for someone with common sense and basic knowledge of a car. I. Literally. cannot. see. anything. Eventually I just wound up my window and ignored her, I didn't care anymore. What a pathetic lazy joke for a security company. They ride a golf cart rather than walk the complex as they should. They disrespect and threaten the residents for no reason. They drive their stupid golf cart around in an unsafe manner. They killed a residents cat that had gotten loose by running it over with the gold cart and then dumped the dead cat in the garbage without notifying anyone about it. Honestly, our complex feels far less safe since they replaced our original security company. Today is December 12 around 8 am I drove to eggs and things in waikiki I decided to go park next door in the handicap stalls. Drove on the side 280 Saratoga rd behind Hard rock Cafe. Some service vehicle was parkin the only 2 handicap stalls. So I figured I wait maybe the driver would move for me nope. Here comes secuitas guard asking me where was I going I told him to go real fast and get my breakfast from eggs and things he told me I can not park there in the handicap stall and to go park across the street by the post office I said what and he said I can not park there so I took pictures and ask him what company he works for he said securitas. Picking up someone at international arrivals- one security tool waves me ahead to fit as many cars as possible into the lane- it's a red lite so I slow up as there are people everywhere scurrying like insects- security tool #2 looks at me like I'm a mental defective, comes around to my window and asks "What part of my instructions did you not understand?" He had just the kind of aloha attitude you want to see on your first day in Hawaii. Today, I parked my car in a completely empty lot, walked across the street for 10 minutes and returned to buy groceries and found a Courtesy Traffic Notice subject to tow. In a completely empty lot, it was completely unnecessary and I am disappointed. To their credit, when I called to ask for the name of the security company doing this, Robert was courteous and gave me the info which leads me to believe this is Alexander & Baldwin Property Management's fault. 3 days ago, i went shopping at walmart keamoku. Their security guard reversed right into my doors in the walmart parking lot. My car was not in motion as there were 4 cars in front of me n 2 behind me. Mr securitas security patrolman doesnt even look into where he is reversing. He backs onto my door. Once in impact he continies to reverse till he cant gas it anymore. My front door crash beam is damaged to the point now i need to replace my door. After numerous attempts to call securitas hawaii n their insurance company as stated in accident report number 16-313866 (hpd). I have had no ine to answercany calls n no return calls. A few times i called securitas n hitt 55# n i know someone keeps hanging up on me. Im just customer who went to walmart to buy medical supplies after two hospitalization n surgeries. Worthless at the airport. Whenever I go to pick up family & friends at the airport, I'm cognizant if the fact that my travelers must be curbside with their luggage so we can zip in and out. When I recently traveled, a whole shitload of cars were actually PARKED curbside, engines off, and coasting. I waved the Securitas guy over and said why isn't he asking them to move, but he did zippo, nada. He blew his whistle at arriving passengers crossing the street, but did shit about the cars parked on the side. If it was possible to give a negative star rating, I would. The Securitas Guards at the Honolulu Airport was the worst guards I've encountered in four countries. They are rude. They don't speak in English. They are not helpful nor speak in a professional manner. The guards are prejudicial against Hawaiians and other locals and make comments about passengers in Filipino in front of them. Either they have horrible training or they hire the most horrible "guards". Their contract with the airport should be terminated for unacceptable behavior. read more

On June 19, 2017, due to unforeseeable circumstances, we were forced to arrive at 1:00 AM to the Honolulu International Airport to wait for a flight that was not until 7 AM. We had been up since early Sunday morning, and it had been a long, long day, and night. Upon our arrival we were asked by Airport Staff to stay in the Airport's Atrium Waiting Area until 4 AM when we could then go through the AG Check and to the Carrier Check-In to form a line for service. While waiting in the Atrium Area we met the nicest Securitas Agent. Her name was Dawn Michelle, and she was so super helpful, and polite. I had to make reservations on my smart phone, but could not access my email to get the scan Bar-code so I could get through the Security Checkpoint to hit Starbucks for food and drinks. Dawn helped me navigate the world of WIFI and retrieve the needed info that would allow me to go through, and get something to eat for my Wife and I. After some time had passed, a Flyer came through and dropped of some complimentary Kryspy Creame Donuts. Dawn, on her own accord, came over and gave us 4 of the donuts to share with us. It was a life-saving moment for us, and a was a very kind gesture on her part I want to thank her for her friendly, helpful attitude, generosity, compassion, and her dedication to us that night, and to the Traveling Public who she serves each day. Her fellow officer Liz who was also on duty with her that night was also very helpful, and attentive to the plight of us and the many other Flyers that were there in the Atrium. Went to the Kapolei Theater and was accused of Loitering about 30 feet to the wide open area next the entrance by the female guard there at about 5:15 in the evening and told to go either inside the building or across the road to the bike racks. I was obviously not loitering as I had a purpose to be there. In fact, I had only been standing around outside for 5 minutes before she came around the corner. I even tried to show her my movie ticket and got shooed away like a dog. I think if I was in a bad mood things would've escalated. Bought movie ticket at 5:09, got shooed away at 5:15, movie starts at 5:45 (In seat at 5:35). You need to be trained properly and understand what loitering means. Also, there was a homeless woman just sitting in a grassy curb in the parking lot, which doesn't really bother me, but if I'm loitering, then you should do something about that. read more

Not only did Securitas fail to fix a "communications failure" alert on my alarm panel, they charged me almost $200 for the non-repair visit. I then cancelled my monitoring service with them, since they could no longer receive an alarm due to the "comms failure". After cancelling their service, I received a bill for the technician's visit 2 months after he failed to fix the issue. Two months after that, I received 'overdue' bills for monitoring service for the months of March through May, even though that service had been cancelled in February. It's been over 4 months of talking to Securitas without any resolution from them. They just keep sending bills. read more

A security guard came up to me in McDonald's after I ordered food and started yelling at me that I was in front of Denny's, he yelled at me in front of customers .. I never went to Denny'. He had a jacket on and came out of nowhere. I did not identify him as a security guard. He was fully clothed in his jacket! I thought I was going to die and that he was going to kill me. I did not know what to was going to do if he attacked me. I am 5'2 and under 120 lbs and he was around a couple hundred and tall . Happened last night April 11th 2019, before 12 am closing time, at McDonald's in Kaneohe, winward city shopping center. I am still afraid for my life and will not return here. I am beyond terrified. Was not making trouble. I got out of car, went straight to the cashier and ordered my food. While I was waiting for my food, this happened to me. I do not feel safe shopping or eating here. The customers thought he was staring at my boobs because of how oddly, he just entered in randomly screaming at me, in front of everybody about a place, I wasn't even at !! I understand that everyone has to work and pay bills. I don't like to report people but this is unacceptable behavior. These people should be sued or reported. Someone at this company has to be held responsible for the actions of the people they hire. They blew me off and forwarded me to the front desk. Pure harassment. How can anyone think this is right? If I could give this business establishment a "zero," this would be the rating that is best suited for Securitas. The men that are employed at the Airport Location are unprofessional, rude, unhelpful, are a few of the adjectives I'd like to label them as. Unfortunately, my vehicle was towed while parked at the airport. Securitas AND ABM Parking claimed that I was illegally parked in a stall that was reserved for the State, however, it was CLEARLY UNMARKED AND NOT CONED off as they said it was. I have a witness that can also verify that it wasn't. In addition, there was another vehicle (not belonging to the State) that was parked in this stall prior to me taking this stall. When I returned from my trip on Sunday, i noticed that my vehicle was not parked in the stall. I went down to the lobby of the airport and asked three of the staff members who deals with the parking lot. None of them really knew, however, they told me to ask the attendant outside who patrols the driveway when you're dropping off a passenger. I explained to the attendant (also works for Securitas) that my car was missing and ask if he knew where it was. With sarchasm, he asked "do YOU know where you parked YOUR car?" Talk about professionalism right from the bat. Securitas, is that first question that comes to mind? He then proceeded that he didn't know how to help me so he called the Securitas office. While I was waiting for two additional Securitas men to assist me, another Securitas employee walks by and says out loud, "Oh, look at her 'samurai eyes!" First of all, this employee was not involved in my conversation so he point blank made at derogatory comment to my face. Secondly, I'm not Japanese. And lastly, this employee was an African-American employee so would it be suffice to say that I could've retaliated and made my own derogatory at him. Would that have been polite to say back to someone I don't know??? Once the two men arrived, they refused to talk to me because yes, I was upset that my 3 week old vehicle was missing and no one knew where it was. Their first question was, "do you want us to help you or not?" Is that how you speak to someone with professionalism and if this is your job? I was in no way yelling or being rude to you. They made me wait 20 minutes because they didn't know where my vehicle was. How can you not keep a log of all the vehicles you tow OR where you tow them to??? Do you not have a main towing company you call or do you just call random tow trucks, therefore, you can't assist a customer when they are searching for their vehicle? Very unorganized as the men were scrambling to write information down on their hands and a piece of paper. It took two hours to finally get my vehicle....WAY TO GO SECURITAS!! I commend you for not knowing how to assist people. I went on to call the Securitas Airport Office and the management team there are just as rude. I should've known since the staff that assisted me where also from this office. Obviously there are no professional and strong leaders that can train and assist their staff members. I spoke with two management team members, Santos and "MAJOR" G Lou (he corrected me that I needed to call him "major." Really Major, are you in the military that you deserve this kind of respect at Securitas?). They were just as unhelpful as they promised to follow up on this situation, however, I HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM EITHER OF THESE MEN. I am SHOCKED AND APPALLED that people treat other people this way. I believe that I was discriminated because I was YOUNG, a FEMALE, and ASIAN. I honestly don't know why anyone uses this security service. Ive tried to get ahold of a branch manager for several days regarding two of their security guards. Last week one of their security guards at Waimanalo shopping center stole out of our tip jar while I got hot water for his ramen cup and not only is he still working the shopping center, BUT he hasnt even been suspended. His supervisor told me that they decided not to watch the security footage we sent them of him stealing because "they would have to fire him". What the hell? This is the person we're supposed to rely on to PREVENT STEALING. Today I was informed by my boss that his supervisor also told him that they wont fire him because they already lost two security guards because I "had affairs with them" which is an absolutely ridiculous lie! This company is HORRIBLY MANAGED. We would be better off without security! Even the homeless around the area know better than to steal. Worst. Company. Ever. read more
