This is the 3rd time I have hired them - once in 2014, once in 2016, and recently. Each time has been a pleasant experience and transparent from the first phone call until the job was completed. Of these 3 moves, they have helped me with a 1 bedroom apartment all the way up to a 3000+ sq ft home, all quickly and efficiently. Because it is most fresh in my mind, I'll share my most recent experience here. When I first called for a quote, I spoke with Myron who was upfront, asked a few questions to determine how many men would be most efficient for my move, and provided an hourly rate for both weekdays and weekends. No need to provide him a huge complete inventory listing of everything in my home or a virtual walk thru of my home like other companies require prior to providing a price. This was huge for me - as a busy mom juggling a move for my family, I just don't have the time to video chat for an hour or make a list of every box I need to move in order to get a quote. So - I hired Sparks soon after that phone call - Myron explained that they would call the day before to confirm and already told me what time they would arrive on moving day. The day before our moving day, we had a minor crisis with our new home that required us to postpone moving by 1 week - of course this happened a Sunday when Sparks was closed and I was on their schedule for 7:45am Monday morning! I panicked, leaving them a voicemail and sending an email in hopes they would check their messages before sending the guys out early Monday morning as I had already confirmed with Rob the owner on Saturday. No problem here! In fact Monday morning I spoke with Rob, the owner himself about what happened. He easily rescheduled me and did not give me a hassle or charge me a cancel fee! On our actual moving day, the men showed up, 15 min early and got right to work. They took a tour of our home and everything they would be moving and quickly loaded he truck. They did not take breaks, check phones, but worked quickly and efficiently. They even removed an interior door themselves in order to get larger things thru. When we got to the new house, same thing - quick and efficient. There is zero damage to my family's belongings, and everything arrived in tact. These guys were friendly the entire time, spoke professionally, like friends to each other, and did a great job!! We couldn't be more pleased with their service!

I will start out by saying in my years of experience with UHaul in general, which has only been…read moremaybe a dozen and a half times in twenty five or so years, I don't think I've EVER, EVER, had a smooth customer experience - EXEPT for ONE time when they had a location on Broadway Avenue in Bedford, which is gone now, and that was only because I happened to deal with the actual store manager that day. He was great and very helpful, as was the guy working with him that day. This was probably ten years ago at least though. Maybe more. I had a hitch put on my Outback and it was great. EVERY other time was simply to have a propane tank filled up, and I'm NOT kidding, it was never smooth. 100% of the time, and I'll say it again, ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of the time, there are employees working who don't care or are simply overwhelmed with tasks. I have waited literally forty minutes just IN LINE to tell someone I'd like a tank filled because they have ten people in line waiting to be taken care of and the one or "maybe" two employees on duty, work with ZERO sense of urgency. So, I've personally come to the conclusion that they are most likely understaffed and overworked which leads to apathy, and I know in a lot of cases that's just it. Most of the people working there are good people but are working their butts off. Anyhow, I called this location today with just a question, a simple question that would have taken literally fifteen seconds to answer, but when I called a woman answered and asked if I could hold - and I said "Yes", and then I was waiting for fifteen minutes with the same, recorded message on loop every twenty seconds. I just hung up. UHaul is famous for their horrible customer service, in my opinion. How about, you know, STAFF ENOUGH PEOPLE to have a functioning business? I know, novel idea, but hell, it could help your bottom line.
