This past weekend, Alexander's moved us from our house to an apartment (we're downsizing). We had 100% confidence it would go smoothly - because they also moved us TO our house 11 years ago. They also moved me to an apartment about 15 years ago. They moved my elderly father when he was moving from a large apartment to an independent living facility (which included helping him pack the breakables), and has moved a close friend several times. In my mind, there are no other options. Every single time - it has been perfect. No breakage. No damage. Nothing missing. Friendly. Fast. Office staff was also extremely nice and patient as we navigated through everything. Money well spent! Highly recommend!!!! read more

I used Alexander Moving Co. to help move a few things to an assisted Living for my Sister. May I first say Joni the owner was such a caring and compassionate woman and worked with me to arrange everything I needed and was very reasonable. The movers showed up on time and was very professional and careful with the furniture, had the entire move done in an hour and 15 mins. Extremely poor customer service! They moved me from Painesville to Painesville. Damage to five of my furniture including a breaking the ear off a giraffe from Africa. They also never gave me my key to my Grandfather clock I also told them the clock was working when it left my home but upon arrival to the new location did not. The owners refused responsibility. I further stated there was no packing material in the clock movement. My son-in-law looked at the clocked and found the switch had moved and it working just like before the move. A day later one of the Alexanders came over with the key which he found in trash. Their charges were the highest I was quoted and thinking paying their price would preserve my pristine, like new, items was a big mistake! They are impossible to reason with even though pictures were supplied as well as documentation. I have little choice now except to peruse this in an other way(s) which I will. I am recovering from hip surgery and once felling better will consult an attorney, small claims court and the BBB. Do not use this company unless you wish to be very upset with the outcome. read more

Look no further if you need a professional, friendly local company to help you move. All your belongings go on one truck, no sharing space and losing items. They treat your furnishings and clothes with the greatest care and respect. Every question was answered, every potential problem dealt with calmly. This is the third time I have used Alexander, the most recent being a major move from Florida to Ohio. It was such a relief not to have to worry about how our things were packed, loaded, transported and unloaded. I knew I could call their Mentor office anytime and get connected immediately with someone who could assist me. No, I am not related, just an extremely satisfied customer. read more

Alexander Moving Company was AWESOME! We chose this company because in the last couple years we assisted in several moves and we remembered Alexander being used in two of them and it was much smoother than the others. From the minute they walked through the door until 6 hours later when they left, the guys were friendly in a good mood and very helpful. They moved my entire 4 bdrm house without any issues. I am flabbergasted! I was reaching out to Alexander moving company to possibly partner with them because they say they also specialize with working with seniors but I was hung up on three times before I even had a chance to tell them who and why I was calling! The first time I simply asked to speak with a supervisor or the owner of the company and the person who answered said no way and hung up on me...the 2nd time I called back and said I was hoping that he had hung on me in error and then he proceeded to hang up on me again. So the 3rd time I called, it was merely out of disbelief on my part.. hoping I would have a chance to explain that I would never want to partner with a company that treated anyone on the other end of a phone in this manner! They work with seniors? I would never refer any of my client's to a company who treats anyone with such disrespect and unprofessionalism. read more

I am very disappointed with Alexander Moving. If Joan is one of Alexander's owners, then I am afraid for their future. If she is an employee, she should be fired. I just received a call from Joan about the non-binding moving estimate that I signed and returned. I made some initialed changes that were incorrect on the agreement. Joan stated firmly, "you can't do that". As a business owner, I deal with this practice routinely. Evidently it really upset Joan, who then proceeded to become rude, saying the agreement was from the Public Utilities Commission and then, when I asked her to speak to me civilly, she then said she would refund my deposit, cancel my move dates and before I could discuss what could be done to correct the paperwork, she hung up on me. I feel bullied. It is her attitude that disturbs me the most. And, this leaves me without a mover for my required dates. Based on this experience I would never recommend them to anyone. Just imagine if we went ahead, had Alexander move us and there were issues over the move, only for us to discover that this is how they deal with customer concerns. If glass was damaged during the move and I called to report it, would Joan get angry and hang up on me? After this call I would consider it a possibility. I wasted considerable time and effort with Alexander. For Joan, I recommend a refresher course in customer relations. read more

I have used Alexander Movers many times over the past several years: twice for an office/business move, twice for moving my dad, and once for helping a family member move. I have been more than satisfied every time. Courteous staff, quick and efficient service. The last move was an entire house from Madison to Mentor in the blizzard the day after Christmas. They stayed professional and efficient even through tedious and treacherous conditions. The previous comment really seems like someone who would be difficult from beginning to end. Good riddance. It is not at all unusual to have standard legal contacts that can't be changed. An attorney most likely drew it up and it was legally solid as written. Once changes are made on the fly by laymen, it runs the risk of being unenforceable or unclear. This person would have argued throughout the process and most likely would have demanded money back at the end for some nebulous reason. It's moving, folks, not an international peace summit. The contract is fiAnd, no, I am NOT the "Joan" mentioned in the previous review. I am a bona fide business owner in Lake County. read more

This company packed up and moved our 3 story home from Ohio to Fla. Could not have been more pleased or impressed with their professionalism and timeliness. Their packing was couldn't have been any better, everything arrived safely and undamaged. We would highly recommend them and would give them 10 stars if it was an option! read more
