When we went back to our original house, we found that they just left like 1/3 of our belongings were still there. But thrown around randomly on the floor just a complete mess, not packed. 1 Star -- A Terrible Moving Experience…read more I cannot recommend this moving company. Our experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. The movers were rude, unhelpful, and unnecessarily rough with our belongings and our new home. At one point, we asked one of the movers to please be more careful with our walls. His response was, "What do you want to do, this yourself?" That response was incredibly disrespectful and completely unacceptable, especially when we were simply asking them to take reasonable care of our home. There were also significant problems with our belongings. A number of items were misplaced, and some table legs were eventually found in the company's Lost and Found. When the company offered to return them, they were left at our old address rather than our new address, which was yet another unnecessary problem we had to deal with. Even more frustrating, the movers left a substantial amount of our belongings at our old address, telling us they didn't have enough room in the truck. This included heavy items such as our treadmill and rugs. We were then forced to spend several additional hours and our own money hiring another moving van to retrieve and move the items ourselves. When I contacted the company about receiving some compensation for the problems we experienced, I was asked to sign an NDA agreeing not to speak negatively about the company in exchange for receiving some money back. I found that extremely troubling. After such a poor experience, I believe customers should be able to honestly share what happened to them rather than being asked to agree to silence in order to receive compensation. Moving is stressful and expensive enough without having to deal with careless handling of your belongings, items being left behind, belongings being misplaced, disrespectful behavior, and then additional out-of-pocket expenses to fix problems that shouldn't have occurred in the first place. I would be extremely hesitant to use this company again and would strongly encourage anyone considering them to look carefully at other options. First, the movers started putting items on the truck that I had clearly set aside to throw away, including a dryer. The TV stand had been taped closed with belongings inside of it, but when it arrived at the new place, those items were missing and the TV stand was empty. My biggest problem isn't just that things went wrong during the move--it's the company's lack of accountability afterward. Items were damaged, other belongings appear to be missing, my bill increased by hundreds of dollars because of the additional time, and my attempts to resolve the issues have been ignored. Based on my experience, I would not use this company again and cannot recommend them. During that conversation, I asked what it would cost to add approximately 70 boxes to the move. John told me the cost would be "anywhere from $2 to $5 per box, depending on how big each box is." I told him I would discuss it with my husband and get back to him. Less than an hour later, I called back and spoke with Kevin, the General Manager, to let him know that we wanted to add the boxes. Kevin gave me a price that was above the $5-per-box range John had just quoted, with no consideration for the size of the boxes. I explained to Kevin exactly what John had told me only moments earlier. Instead of acknowledging the discrepancy or trying to find a reasonable solution, Kevin repeatedly told me that "the system doesn't quote like that," that John must have been giving me an average, or that perhaps I had misunderstood John. That was extremely frustrating. I was simply trying to resolve a pricing discrepancy between two people within the same company. Rather than taking ownership of the situation and working with me to find a reasonable solution, I felt as though the responsibility was being placed on me. At that point, I told Kevin that I was so frustrated with the sudden change in pricing and the way the situation was being handled that I wanted to cancel the entire move. Kevin did not attempt to resolve the issue or retain our business--he immediately took us off the schedule. Fortunately, we had enough flexibility with our move to take our business elsewhere. But I was genuinely surprised that a General Manager would handle a customer situation this way, particularly the day before a scheduled move. For a company with such high ratings, I expected much better customer service, communication, and transparency. My experience left me feeling that Leaders was not "leading" in those areas. I also have to question the company's "no hidden fees" claim based on this experience. I panicked, leaving them a voicemail and sending an email in hopes they would check their messages before sending the guys out early Monday morning as I had already confirmed with Rob the owner on Saturday. On our actual moving day, the men showed up, 15 min early and got right to work. They took a tour of our home and everything they would be moving and quickly loaded he truck. They did not take breaks, check phones, but worked quickly and efficiently. They even removed an interior door themselves in order to get larger things thru.
