I reserved a storage unit. They need me to come and provide my drivers license to finalize the paperwork. I'm here during business hours. I came here at 12:30 PM noon time, It's now 2:15 pm and no one's here at the office. Very unprofessional! So far I don't recommend this storage uni. read more

We have had a storage unit here for 6 years, just a 10x10 unit starting at $45 a month. Fast forward 6 years not a 50% markup not a 100% but nearly 170% mark up to $121 a month. Next let's talk the cancellation vacating of the unit process, what a joke. We called the office 8 different times within a 10 hour window on July 6th to notify our plans to part ways with Statewide Storage normally I'd just drive to the location but we have relocated out of the area. Anyways we were told by whatever staff member working that day that we had until July 29th to vacate our unit, we asked okay is there anything specific we need to know for a smooth exit, employee responded just to have our things out or declare that Statewide can clean it out for $50 (unbelievably reasonable price) and I clarified the price of leaving items we no longer needed and she confirmed $50. 4 days later that same employee called us 3 times consecutively middle of a business day. I am a business owner I am busy 8-8 during the week, my wife works 6-6 nonetheless my wife answers one of the calls for an employee to tell us oh it's actually $100 (still not bad) for Statewide to clean it out after the 29th, we accepted the price and notified them we would be there by the 29th to clear out our unit and anything we don't need we'd leave behind or throw it away ourselves, we then again asked if there was anything specific that we needed to do to ensure a smooth exit, she assured us no. On the 29th we entered our unit to find our unit and belongings infested with spiders and crickets, we didn't make a fuss about it we grabbed the things we cared for closed the unit and headed over to the office to notify them, locked doors no one in sight so we called, no answer. We had a concert to get to so we went back to the unit put the lock back on and left. Here's where the real f*ckery begins, on August 5th the same employee later identified as April called us 3 times within 30 minutes the first telling us they were charging us for the another month for lock being left on the unit, we reminded her that we asked for specific instructions for a smooth exit and none were given, it was there locked and we left it with the key on it as well but no that was not sufficient. She then called back saying oh can you just come in Sunday and pay a prorated price for the month and get the lock off we reiterated to her the $100 clean out of the unit she confirmed. She calls back once more to tell us oh we are closed on Sundays I'll call you Monday to touch base. On Sunday the 6th I drove 60 miles to the site and removed the lock. She does not call on Monday we receive a phone call on Tuesday and she stated the unit hasn't been emptied out so it would be $100 to clean out and the price of a full month of it's not cleared out by 4. By this point I am irate because I specifically asked her on multiple days any specific instructions for a smooth exit and validated that they would clear it out. She refutes my claims to her and acted like it never happened and began copping an attitude. Realizing that she was A. Useless B. Incompetent or C. both. At that point I did not care anymore I asked her what would it take for me to be done and out of Statewide forever. She stated I needed to clear out by 4 she also let me know to use their dumpster was $100. I had enough of Statewide they weren't earning another penny from be. I'd rather pay my employee to clear it out take it to the dump and pay the dump fee. Statewide/StorAmerica you will never earn another penny from me. Ironically I am in the market for storage again this time in a commercial aspect (I need a ton of space) including a boat and a 32 ft RV so thank you for being so poor and allowing me to look at a shorter list. Train your staff better and monitor your business better so poor behavior and performance like Aprils doesn't go missed and becomes a habit. What a waste of time and money. read more

I came here down on my luck having searched across numerous storage facilities for the right space and about to go with a real high priced option when I happened to waltz into here just looking to get packing materials. Then I met Kala. She went out of her way to first help me find the packing materials I was looking for and then she went out of her way to show me what Statewide had to offer. Well it turned they had exactly what I needed and for a better deal! Kala went out of her way to secure me a rental truck for my move. The one on site had broke down but she called around and managed to get one locked in for my move. I was so happy! She really was incredibly friendly and made me feel like a valued customer. Even up to the day of my actual move into the storage, when my furniture dolly broke, Kala again went out of her way to get me another to help with the final steps of my move. Thank you very much Statewide for having the sense to bring on good people like Kala who really go out of their way to be genuinely good with other people. read more

There clean I'll give them that. Staff is unhelpful they don't answer questions all too well. They never ever give calls back. They never pick up the phones I can call 30 times a day on different numbers and still no response or call backs. They won't respond to emails and are rarely there during store hours. They make it very inconvenient to get ahold of. So I do not recommend this place do to inconsistency. read more

It's a self storage. Nothing extraordinary, nothing bad. They do not allow cutting your lock if you are a dummy and lose your key. The receptionist is very helpful and the best part of this business. Overall a reasonable value for the price. I'd be okay with renting here again. read more

Bait and switch on the price as soon as you've been moved in for a few months, and nobody is ever in the office during business hours to pay the overpriced rent in person, I typically have to come several times to catch an actual person in the office and be able to pay. Wow, I came here about 4 months ago and I have to say, the staff and the manager was so nice. They made it so easy for us to move in and they had killer deals. Best deal in riverside. I called here to inquire about a storage locker about 30 minutes before closing. Employee named Martin answered the phone and said come on down so I did. Long story short, within approximately 20 minutes, Mr. Martin got me completely signed up for a good sized locker and the use of a truck that they own, all for an incredibly low price. A great price! Mr. Martin was very polite and professional. He patiently took the time to explain all the terms and conditions of my rental and answered all of my questions. I didn't think renting a storage locker would wind up being a pleasurable experience. Mr. Martin treated me like a long time family friend and strived to meet all my needs. I had my things in a storage unit here for the past couple of months. They were amazing. They worked to find me the best rate possible, were so friendly and really made the whole transaction as easy as possible. Yesterday I had to close out my unit (moved out of town) and my partner forgot to do it while he was there. The office staff was so helpful. They called me back right away, checked the unit and called me back in no time, it went so much smoother than I thought it would. I was amazed. I would absolutely recommend using statewide self storage if you need storage in the riverside area. read more

We have rented here twice . They do have great rates . Although I signed up because of the offer of the free moving truck . They have one moving truck and it is always booked . I suggest before renting Check and see if the truck is available. It's usually booked a month in advance . Also make sure to check the gate sign for times they are open Website didn't display holiday hours for gate. It showed office was closed Memorial Day but not the storage yard . So we rented and packed up an truck and they were closed . Now we have rented a truck twice and moving into an affordable storage has not gotten very pricey . read more

Update 09/15/2017: I was contacted by the district manager of this location who addressed my concerns. He was able to expedite the process for us to regain access to the storage unit. This matter has been resolved. ***** CUSTOMERS BEWARE ***** If I could give this business a 0, I would. My Mother has a storage unit at this location but was bed ridden and in declining health. Our family was contacted by Statewide Self Storage and notified that they "accidentally" cut the lock off of my Mom's storage unit while trying to evict another customer. We were told to come in to retrieve the key for the new lock. On June 23, 2017 I stopped in to retrieve the key but was given the run around by the lady at the front counter. She wouldn't allow me to pick up the key because I wasn't the owner of the account, my mother was. I explained the situation to her about my mother and was told I'd be contacted a few hours later to discuss my options after she spoke with the auctioneer. I never received a phone call (I've printed out the call history from my cell provider) and to top it all off, my mother passed later that day. About two weeks later I revisited Statewide Self Storage to follow up on retrieving the key. The same lady at the front counter explained to me now that my Mom had passed they'd need a copy of the death certificate, a form to be notarized for probate, and there would also be a 40 day waiting period. I explained to her we would not be in this situation if they didn't initially cut the lock off of the wrong storage unit. She acknowledged their mistake but still would not provide me with the key to the unit. In order to make up for their mistake, they comped my mother the month of August for free (big deal!). We are now jumping through hoops to try and gain access to her storage unit. I've learn that the employees who work at this location have absolutely no say in decision making. Everything must be ran through the mysterious "auctioneer." Of the many loose ends our family has had to tie up since my mother passed, the most difficult one without a doubt has been this storage unit. I do not recommend this business and we have consulted with an attorney regarding this situation. read more

The poorest and rudest customer service I have ever experienced. I would give negative stars if I could. I inquired about their services 2 weeks ago and the property manager Marcie (very nice and knowledgeable lady) let us know about the storage units and how they offer a moving truck if we reserved it ahead of time. Days later we went back and Anna (also very nice) helped signed us up for a storage space and we reserved the moving truck to use a week later. She told us we can come pick up the truck at 10:30 am. A week later we came and picked up the truck at 11am, no hassles or anything. After dropping off the truck we reserved the truck to use again a week later with an employee named Alexis. Today was the day we were supposed to use the truck again. We get here at 10:55 and the sign that says office is closed we will be back later is up. We wait and the lady working the office today (Alexis again who helped us last week) arrives back at 11:15 am. She rudely says we can't get the truck anymore and we were supposed to pick it up at 10:30 am. We were not even an hour late and it doesn't make sense that we are not able to use a truck we reserved for all day use up to 4 pm! We let her know we had no problem using it last week despite being an hour late. Minutes later a customer comes in asking if she could see the prices for a unit. Again Alexis rudely says to her "No I can't show you." The new customer asks for a brochure or a pamphlet and again Alexis rudely says no and the potential customer says f*** you to her and turns to us and says "Wow she's a handful no wonder I heard raised voices from outside. Good luck with this lady." We then asked for her full name (she was very hesitant to give us her last name) and a customer service number to call and as we were expressing our concerns to Alexis she threatened to call the cops on us. For what? Just trying to express our frustrations about reserving a truck that's out there right now not being used? Unbelievable. A place like this does not deserve to have such a rude employee like AlexisWon'tGiveHerLastName. Please do yourself a favor and use one of the other storage services in the area. You as a customer do not have the time or self well being to waste on such a petty place like this. read more
