To make your application and sign up process go a little smoother, check with your insurance company before you show up to see if they cover your personal and or business property that will be in your storage unit. Public Storage requires that you have insurance for your stored property. There is a list of questions you may want to ask your insurance company about your coverage so that you can make an educated decision about whether your coverage will be as good as the coverage (Orange Door Storage Insurance Program) that is offered at this facility. Here's the list... https://www.orangedoorstorageinsurance.com/links-and-faqs Orange Door Insurance rates are $11 per month for $3000, $13 for $4000, and $15 for $5000 coverage. To make your sign up process go quicker, you can select the Orange Door policy when you sign up. If you decide that your insurance is as good, you can cancel the Orange Door policy pretty easily. You'll also need a specific lock that fits the door. They sell two types of locks (disk or cylinder) depending on which type of door your unit has. I needed a cylinder lock and they sell them for $20 at the facility. I saw some used Public Storage locks on eBay for $5 to $10 without shipping so you might save a few bucks if you have the foresight to order one ahead of time. If you're short on time, you can just buy one from Public Storage. You'll know it's what you need and it fits! Here's some tips from Public Storage to make moving you stuff into storage go smoothly... https://www.publicstorage.com/blog/public-storage/5-ways-to-prep-for-your-move-to-a-public-storage-unit

It is ridiculous. It's such a bummer that we had to get rid of so much furniture and other items because they were pooped/peed on or chewed through. When I call to discuss my rent rate they say it's due to market rates. Which is crazy because they use low rates to bring customers in and once they are moved in the jack up the cost. I've tried to get ahold of the area manager for over 2 weeks and they are "not available" and let me know they will return my call. And yet, no returned call. I've also submitted an inquiry online and no response to that either. Only reason I haven't moved out is because I don't have the man power to move all my stuff all over but as soon as I do I am leaving this facility and never looking back.
