This company sucks. I made a reservation for a space but then I saw someone parking into the spot I reserved so I asked the office what was going on. They said the call center made a mistake by canceling the other person's reservation. Now they gave it back to them even though I had reserved it! It doesn't matter if it was a mistake or not. Why am I the one that has to be on the losing side?! Tell me that this isn't the most ridiculous thing you've ever heard of. Not only that but I had a storage unit in B building that had a rodent issue! The rodent completely destroyed my bandaids! It's not even edible and it still bit and tore it to shreds! Not only is this unsanitary but I store clothing in my unit! There's so many rodent droppings and smells! They said they would take care of it but I have yet to see any difference! read more

Thank you Marcie for your appology but this kind of water damage should never have happened. I have an inside unit, not a drive up unit. I understand there was a lot of rain, but these units should have had better weather protection than this! I had areas in my unit with 1 inch of water on the floor. No amount of appologizing or insurance money will replace antique furniture, highschool year books and photo albums that are forever ruined. It is my fault for having cardboard boxes on the floor, but I thought my items would be protected here and for the money I pay each month on this unit they should have been. I hope that you have notified all your other tenants that have water damage to their units as well! read more

I rented a moving truck from uhaul at another location. The other location didn't have the truck available and redirected me to Yankee Mini Storage. I was so happy I ended up here, even though it was a little out of my way. Melanie helped us and she was so nice and made the process for easy. I am absolutely more than satisfied with the service I received at this facility. Melanie and Kathleen were absolutely supper friendly and answered all questions I had. I just moved my stuff into my new unit today and everything went flawlessly. Kathleen removed original lock promptly. I picked a drive up outside unit and I can honestly I'm supper happy with service, cleanliness, and location. The area feels very safe and I can see that they takes security seriously. they have lots of cameras throughout and we must input our code coming in and out of the facility. Make sure you read the fine print and ask questions before choosing to spend your money or make your purchase with this company. They told me and my husband that we'd be charged $91 and was charged $198.06. Thats a large difference I just would expect that if the employee has worked there 16 years like she said when initially acquiring our business, she'd at least explain basic procedure. Or at least answer a callback or actually call back since her "assistant" said we'd receive one and have yet to hear back. Experience to say the least feels scammy. read more

Horrible, dont recommend this facility. I rented a unit 3 days before I planned to move in and on the day of move in, management forgot to remove the lock from the unit, was unable to move in and had to scramble to find another unit close by to rent last minute. Called customer service twice while I waited for them to resolve, management never did respond since it was sunday they are non-existent...didn't even rcv a so sorry for making the error return call. You will be sorry to rent here, it's cheap but so is the property manager response oh and thank God this happened found a decomposed rat near the unit I was supposed to rent, looks like they don't care to keep the place clean. The rats will enter the unit and nibble on your belongings and poop all over your stored items. read more

This place is horrendous the staff is terrible except for one person the nice gentlemen who drove us around to see some units for storing our stuff for couple of months front desk two ladies absolutely stupid and rude bitchy and mean as hell. The manager or boss who name was Michael was nice although I'm not sure if he ever is in the office never saw a guy besides the outside guy and the two ladies. We went in stored our stuff for two months filled out all there paperwork setup auto pay so we wouldn't have to deal with anything else come to find out the lady we dealt with off hand can't remember her name but she's terrible should be fired honestly. She never filled our paperwork and it was lost we got charged a late fee for payment which MICHAEL took of that and the payment for the month. We told them when we were there is that everything we need to fill out we don't live here so we can't come back and fill anything out. Next time you'll see us we'll be leaving. They said yes we left. Meanwhile later on we were freaking getting ready to move get a late fee I call and the lady was rude as hell kept arguing with me instead of just owning her fuck up. Oh I made a mistake I'm so sorry sir let's work with you. She just argued along so much so another lady had to pull the phone out of her hand and then spoke with me and even she was rude and disrespectful also. BAD WAY TO DO BUSINESS!!!! After hours of dealing with them we had to re fill out all there paperwork for there fuck up. They blamed me for taking the originals I checked I didn't have the original I had copies just trying to make it my fault not there's. Also several of our boxes had rats chomping away at them this place must be infested honestly I know shit happens but literally some boxes were breeding grounds and feeding zones for them. If you like your sanity and money and don't want to be treated like crap don't ever use this place freaking run I would drive hundreds of miles further to store my stuff then this shithole. This self storage place is a complete dump, there's weeds growing all over the place, massive theft all the time, also, there has been numerous thefts of RVs and units, and especially toy haulers, there is no maintenance man/caretaker on site, homeless people all over the place, the company that owns it is called platinum storage group, and they obviously don't care about its properties or patrons,I would highly suggest not to use this facility.... read more

Rented this storage unit online, best value in the area for sure so I was worried it might be a run down place once I got there, boy was I wrong! I was greeted and assisted by Melanie the manager and she was so knowledgeable and helpful. Initially the storage unit I rented had an issue but she worked quickly with the rest of the staff to get me another unit quickly. She knew the property well and delt with several issues simultaneously while keeping a smile on her face. I'm not entirely sure how the property would run without her as she obviously wears many hats here. I'm glad I chose this, the price got me here but the service and how nice the property is kept will keep me returning! read more

My mom unit has been broken in too not once but twice and the insurance that you get through the place has yet to too any thing about the first time which was over 8 months ago much less the second brake in. The only reason I give 5 stars is because of Melanie if it wasn't for her I would have chosen another place for my storage needs. Melanie has great customer service and is very personable. Melanie goes over and above to satisfy her customers and she deserves plenty of recognition. I don't know whats going on but before the owner chose platinum storage to manage that place Melanie always answered the phone and i didnt have to call into a call center which sucks now. Although Yankee is under new management, Melanie and Ricky are the reason I have stayed renting a unit, they are the nicest people and they treat you with dignity and respect. The new owners?......hmmmm, well all I can say is that they leave much to be desired and can be downright rude and callous but Melanie and Ricky always greet you with a warm, friendly smile and are the ones who make it bearable to rent here. I have been storing stuff at Yankee for many years, and manager Melanie M. is a ROCKSTAR. She has, unfortunately, been hindered from providing the kind of customer service she was once known for, since the advent of Platinum Storage Management. She's given no latitude to make any business decisions that could benefit the customer, or alleviate a problem situation. Additionally, Platinum raises rates too frequently - more often than annually - and, despite speaking to the Regional Manager, Michael, who PROMISED to correct my rent rates, no change was ever made. And I've gotten notice of yet ANOTHER increase coming. Apparently, customer retention is not high on Platinum's mission statement. I'm a senior on a fixed retirement, and these irrational increases are impacting my budget unreasonably. When me and my family first moved to Beaumont in 2006, this was the only storage facility that had been accommodating to our needs and fairly reasonable for what we required. They let us use their truck to move things into the unit, and gave us a rate of $89.99 a month for a 10 by 10 unit with a promise that the rate would not change. We've paid out bill on time for a decade and have been loyal. But now since the owner has hired a management company, the rates have steadily been increasing to the customer's chagrin, and our complaints have fallen on deaf ears. Melody has been very sweet in all this, and she's the only reason we haven't pulled our business yet. If you're looking for storage in the Beaumont area, I'd suggest elsewhere and I'm as loyal as they come, but this is ridiculous. read more

I planned on picking up 4x8 uhaul trailer and arrived at 9:15am. Electrical plug for tow hitch wasn't working. Rick rode with me to three places to find proper part AND installed it, hooking up all wiring so that it worked! Plus he gave me quick tutorial on backing up trailer. We we're done 3 1/2 hrs later! I'm so thankful for all his help as well as Melanie's flexibility and willingness to make things easy for me. I reserved a unit on line, the price was great and that's what brought me there. I spoke with Melinda, she was absolutely wonderful. Her customer service was some of the best I've ever seen. She was very helpful, polite and professional. The facility is clean, well maintained and safe. The only down side is the units are pitch dark at night and the ceilings are only about 7 ft high. So I have to rent 2 units to fit my things. It's costing me a little less for the 2 units here at Yankee, than it was Costing for my 1 unit before. read more

My daughter and went to Yankee Storage yesterday to pick up a rental. We walked and this gal, Julie, who was sitting at the desk barely looked up at us, didn't greet us, and pretty much ignored us. My daughter was conversing with me when Julie decided to acknowledge us by aggressively and rudely interrupting our conversation. My daughter tried to finish what she was saying to me when Julie told her she was being rude. My daughter said, no she wasn't, she was just trying to finish what she was telling me. Well Julie apparently didn't like that, but fortunately Rick arrived and smoothed things out and left with my daughter to check out our rental. I was left there to do the paperwork with Julie. Although Julie never smiled or acted customer service friendly, all the paperwork was done without any problems. I told Julie since my grandson did the online rental I was going to ask him if the price he quoted me included rental insurance since I declined to purchase it. She got up and walked out of the room. Ok, still no problem here with her at this point. I finished my call with my grandson and my daughter called me, at which point I was talking to her about getting the insurance. Julie comes back and immediately tells me I'm being rude by having a personal conversation on the phone! I told her I was talking with my daughter to decide about the rental insurance. Well she was fit to be tied! She wouldn't let me speak, kept loud talking over me, called me names! Yes, she did! She called me hoity-toity! (My daughter had my on speaker phone and Rick heard the entire conversation. He said he was coming back immediately to handle the situation). At this point I started recording her. She then locked all the doors that had public access ( I have no idea why she did that) and told me she was going to call her manger and have me escorted out. I told her, I'm sitting here in this chair, not even moving my hands in a threatening manner, your walking around locking the public out, calling me names and YOU want ME escorted out. I also told her the facility had cameras and could see exactly how this all started. Well Rick came and took Julie to another room where I could hear her telling him lies and proceeded to cry. He comes out, is extremely apologetic and proceeds to finish up the transaction. Rick was great. He was very meticulous and thorough with explaining to my daughter about the cargo hitch. If you decide to do business with this faculty , be careful, Julie will attack you if you appear to be "hoity-toity. She appears sweet like Annie Wilkins in Misery, NOT!!! read more

Set up an appointment with the manager (Melanie M) to discuss renting a storage locker. I started asking basic questions (sizes, cost per month, etc) as I was not familiar with renting a locker. Melanie was VERY rude and unbelievably disrespectful. She made a comment that "I should know the details, prior to renting a unit". I continued to ask questions and then she cut me off, ended the meeting and told me she was late and had to take her friends daughter to dance class. Then told me to get out!
