I spent quite a bit of time researching who I trusted with it and was very lucky to discover that Nesbit's is right here in Seattle. I brought it to them in June. They originally estimated about 12 weeks, and it ultimately took closer to 20 -- but honestly, it was completely worth the wait. I picked it up at the end of September, and I couldn't be happier with the result. The bracelet looks so incredibly clean that, at first, I thought they had replaced it. The new crystal is beautiful, and the case looks fantastic after polishing. They didn't erase every deeper ding, mark, or bit of patina, which I'm actually glad about. Those little imperfections are part of its history and a reminder that this was my grandpa's watch. I want it to look beautiful, but I also want it to still look like the watch he wore. It's running and keeping time better than it has in years. My grandpa wore this watch constantly and apparently never left it with a watchmaker long enough to be properly serviced, so by the time I inherited it, the gaskets had deteriorated and it wasn't running or keeping time well anymore. It really needed the work. The restoration was a significant investment at $1,200 plus tax, but I feel very good about it. I estimate the restoration added at least that much back into the value of the watch, particularly because it preserved all of those beautiful original details. I have absolutely no intention of selling it, though. To me, its real value is that it belonged to my grandpa. Huge thanks to Nesbit's for taking such good care of it. It's beautiful, it's running like it should again, and I feel very lucky to live close enough to have had it restored locally.

I debated for a couple of years whether to electrify my road bike. I had ridden it for probably 10…read moreyears and loved it. I didn't want to spend thousands on an e-bike and have two bikes to maintain. Bike Swift was really good at setting expectations and addressing concerns I had about extra weight, braking, and changing the feel of the bike. After picking up my bike, there was an issue with what turned out to be a non standard bottom bracket. They were diligent about figuring out and fixing the issue quickly. I've since gotten a bunch of rides on my converted bike and am really happy with it. As we had discussed, it still handles well and braking is not an issue. As a plus, the system they use is very configurable as far as customizing assist levels so that even with the extra weight, a 7% assist level makes it feel just like my bike did before conversion. I would have had to pay probably $3,000 to get a lower weight e-bike that did not fit me as well as my bike still does, and am really glad Seattle has a shop that provides this service.

Came in on a Wednesday 20 minutes before close to get a vintage Seiko resized. Upon finding the office, I rang the doorbell and the owner came and answered pretty quickly and as I got in, I noticed there wasn't anyone else there which wasn't surprising given the fact that it was around closing. I had asked the owner about resizing my watch and how much it was gonna cost and it ended up being $19 after tax, which was pricier than I thought (which is the only reason I took off a star). However, after I had attempted to resize it at home (and failed multiple times doing so), I was honestly down to pay whatever price it took to get it resized since the watchband links were not the modern kind where you can just push out pins from the sides. The owner had to use some special tools and a little hammer to get the links off which definitely made me feel better about the price I paid. Ultimately I ended up waiting for maybe 10 mins max for the whole resizing of the watch, so it was super quick even with the owner checking with me multiple times to make sure the watch band fit my wrist perfectly before he rang me out. I appreciated his efforts in doing so and he was very patient and understanding the whole way through. Though it was only my first time coming, I would definitely recommend this place for any kind of watch repair or resizing :) Overall good experience for resizing my watch!
