I don't fly very much due to the weather in Seattle, but with extra times on my hand recently and the nice weather I decided to take my mavic2 pro out a few weeks ago -- cue the heartbreak when i found that one of my landing gears were bent and wires were exposed. I looked on the DJI site and they wanted $230 labor + parts. On top of that, I had to ship my drone to them and who knows how long that would take. I am so glad I was able to find Kale and Seattle Drone Repair. They were conveniently located a mile away from me and I was able to drop it off the same day I called them. He was up front, told me the price, and let me know that he didn't have the part in but was expecting them soon. A week later, letting me know that my drone was up and running again. Kale was honest, fast, and reasonably priced. He was super responsive to emails and flexible with pickup. Definitely recommend him and Seattle Drone Repair. Kale stole drone parts from me, including my charger, and gave it to another customer. He even admitted it and offered me $5 of compensation. As if that were acceptable, I was on the other side of the country to film an event and wasn't able to because I couldn't charge up. Crook and unethical. Would've taken him to court if it was worth the time. read more

A friend of mine decided to square off with one of my drones and a large tree. Much to our surprise, the tree won. Who would of thought? I brought my Mavic Mini to Seattle Drone Repair to replace the camera gimbal, new blades and get my bird back up in the air again. They replaced my gimbal with no issue, but when I went to pick up my drone, the propeller blades had not been replaced. When I pointed that out, the guy closing me out shrugged his shoulders and said he didn't think they had any. I left pretty disappointed as I was fully expecting to fly that day. Had I forgotten to ask them to repair the propeller blades as well? Even if that were the case, you would think the tech would have reached out to me and asked. I took one in, (Mavic Air 2) full speed side crash into a tree and a 100 ft fall through the branches. Ouch! But these guys repaired and replaced the damage without a fuss. I operate a Commercial Drone service here in WA State. Unfortunately one of my drones was recently damaged during a aerial survey project. I looked at a few drone repair facilities on the East & West Coast. Several other affiliate drone companies had recommended DDS DJI Drone Service on the East Coast, however due to proximity I elected to go with Seattle Drone Repair. After reviewing the website and reviewing many positive Google Reviews they seemed like a professional well run organization. Prior to fully committing I decided to phone them to confirm they were able to make the necessary repairs. To be honest I was put off by my initial conversation with the manager who came across as a cocky "know it all" individual, however ignored this red flag. 1st Mistake! I went onto their website and filled out all the necessary paperwork in order to open a Repair Ticket. After taping my business card to both the drone and again on the case, the drone was packed into the original Styrofoam case, which was then packaged again into the original cardboard box to ensure the Styrofoam case was not damaged, in addition to minimize anyone realizing there was an expensive drone inside. Shipping via USPS was carried out precisely as their website instructed. Based on the companies website I was anticipating a call once they had received and assessed the damage and come up with a cost to repair. A little over a week had passed without hearing from anyone so I rang them up myself. They confirmed they had received the drone & the camera had been sent off to ta 3rd party company for evaluation. I was told I could expect to hear back from them within a few days. When another week had passed and I had not heard anything from them, I called up again. They then informed me that he had actually received the camera back from the 3rd party repair company & all camera repairs had been made. WHAT, repairs made without me approving cost???? Red Flag #2. I asked what happened to me receiving a call with the repair cost before proceeding & was informed this was too much back-and-forth effort for them and they elected to just approve the repair without my involvement. I asked for the cost of the repair and informed was several hundred dollars. This obviously was not part of my understanding of how their process worked, however what was done was done, there was little I could do at that point. I then asked for them to call me with the remaining repair cost "before" it was carried out. A few days later I receive and email stating all repairs were complete and my bill was well over $500. WHAT, Even though I was told I would receive a call, I never received one to discuss the cost of repair, and to be honest may have not even elected to repair at that cost? I reluctantly paid the bill. A few days later I arrived at my office and the drone was sitting outside on the doorstep in the Styrofoam case without the cardboard box I had sent it in. They had not even sent it with a signature required to ensure we physically had it in our possession. We've experienced numerous items stolen off our doorstep in the past months and was lucky this too had not been stolen by porch pirates. I am very disappointed in this companies' inability to follow through and lack of professionalism I experienced from the very first call. I'll admit their website is professionally laid out, however they failed for follow through with a single commitment stated on the site. Don't be fooled by the glossy cover folks!!! In retrospect I wish I had sent the drone back to DDS DJI DRONE REPAIR (https://ddsdronerepair.com) as I've heard nothing but numerous positive things about this company. And they have FREE shipping both directions, which Seattle Drone Repair does NOT. Under no circumstances would I recommend Seattle Drone Repair to anyone going forward, nor will I ever use their services again. To say I'm TERRIBLE DISAPPOINTED is an understatement. read more

My DJI Phantom 4 advanced during flight suddenly gave me a "aircraft disconnected" warning and fell about 60 feet to the ground. I called Seattle Drone Repair and got boss. He assured me that he could evaluate my drone and call me with an estimate before proceeding with repairs. A couple of weeks went by and I got an e-mail that my drone was ready and the bill was over $500. He failed to call me with an estimate! I paid the bill as he assured me that my drone was repaired and checked out OK. On the first flight it was not in the air 4 minutes and repeated the same scenario as the initial crash. I called the man and during our conversation he told me that is a common problem with some of the DJI units including mine and that not even the company had a fix for it. Had I known this from the beginning I would not have asked for repair. The owner has offered a credit in the amount of $320 (4 hours labor, parts extra) on my next repair with them. My Mavic Pro was messed up. My gimbal would not calibrate or center back to home. It took a lot of effort to determine the the guilty culprit. It ended up it was a bad gimbal control board. I called Seattle Drone Repair because I liked seeing the good ratings. When I called Kale, and left a message he returned my call quickly and after I told him about the crash and what was going on with the gimbal, he told me a couple things it may be, and gave me and estimate I asked if I could come in the next day he said no problem.. when I got there we talked again, He inspected it and said he would open it up and call me in a few hours, He did as he said and called me to tell me about a crack in a bracket on one of the arms, I told him to Please fix it he said it would be ready the next day. When I went to pic it up it functions perfectly. The cost was reasonable and the time without my Drone was awesome, If anyone has ever sent your Drone back to DJI's repair facility you understand how long it takes to get your Drone back.
