They were excellent to work with for our move from an apartment on Capitol Hill to our new 3 level townhome--lots of stairs and these guys navigated them as best as they could! We had a LOT of stuff, the majority in reusable plastic Hive Boxxes (check them out as well!) and some big furniture, as well as a mature fig tree. Although some of it was challenging, they even went out of their way to call and bring on an extra guy when they were worried it was going to take longer than estimated. They put everything where we wanted it in the new place, and disassembled and reassembled all of the large furniture which was super handy. They took care of the items with blankets and wraps, and I also like they they don't charge time for travel to and from the location like most other services--all around we'd gladly use them again; but don't plan on moving any time soon! read more

I booked Seattle Small Moves 2 months before my move date of May 20th. We were set for 9am. 9am approaches and I receive no call. I call and am told a driver didn't show up and they will be 45 minutes late. It was frustrating that I had to initiate multiple phone calls to know when they were arriving. They arrived at 11:30, which is 2 and a half hours late. I wish I was able to show up 2 and a half hours late to my workplace. However, the 2 guys I had worked very hard and I was grateful they could get my heavy, large sleeper sofa into our old Seattle house. It was also strange to have to call and give payment information. The driver should have a chip reader, especially if you say you accept card. If you say cash only, I would have had cash. I wouldn't recommend Seattle Small Moves and I won't use them again. read more

I asked his advice on how to make the move go smoothly and did as he suggested along with some common sense. Having all items already packed, boxes and furniture staged in such a way to make the trek to the truck easier. It worked! We were a small move but it still took 3 hours including drive time through Seattle traffic!! I was afraid what the traffic could add to the moving time but things worked out great. Seattle small moves gave the best rate and considering we needed to get out ASAP, so i went ahead with them. They arrived 30 minutes early than the expected start time and without an elevator(yeah conveniently broke down on a sunday with an hour of our scheduled move) took all our big thing down and were efficient. I was expecting it to take 4-5 hrs because of all the stairs they did it in 3. Also no damage to anything(which is amazing considering how narrow the stairwell is. Next time I'm choosing the other guys. I was very surprised/disappointed when I realized that the move, wasn't like the advertised video. I wanted to start our move early 8:00am. Owner give me a call 7:45 says his team is going to be a little late. By the time the truck arrived and The movers started work it was close 9 o'clock. We mainly wanted to move king size bed and dresser. Immediately noticed no one wrapped anything up in plastic. The dresser and bed were moved successfully but slow. I really thought three or four guys would've been much better and faster. After we were done with the move, I got a call from the owner wanting to up the price of our bid by $40 because of the extra time it took. I found that very unprofessional. Other than that they had great painted trucks and matching uniforms I would NOT recommend this company to any one that I know. read more

Our move last week was not large, but it was somewhat complex involving 2 family members, multiple stops to load from Seattle, out to Issaquah to unload & re-load, then over the mountains to Cle Elum to unload again and place furniture items. I used Seattle Small Moves for the first time to move a vintage dining table set I recently bought. I found them to be very responsive and had a quote within a few hours of first contacting them. Traffic was brutal on delivery day and they were running late which is to be expected. What made it great was that they let me know their status and when to expect them. They were on target with the revised time. The delivery guys were very friendly, but not overly so. They worked quickly and made sure everything was as I expected prior to leaving. You know that feeling when you think I should right a review, and then go, but I'm so busy, nah I'm not going to. Well that is not the feeling I have after working with Seattle Small Moves. Literally sitting in an unpacked home and feel it is a priority to get the word out there. For some background I had originally contracted with a different company that also had great reviews for a move only to have on the day of the move a phone call first saying they would be there at the tail end of the quoted time, 45 minutes after the quoted time I get a call saying they would be 2 hours later than that. Until eventually they had no idea when they would be there and evening had already come. So with only one day notice I call Seattle Small Moves, who actually answered the phone on the first call, and adked when the earliest. Turned out earliest was the very next morning at 8:30 AM. They did call back to confirm they MAY be up to 15 minutes late from traffic, but they were not. They showed up right on time. The quote was a static amount, none of this hourly time that may or may not be the estimated time. To compare for the same move, given the exact same information these were the quotes received: First company: 2 Movers 1 Truck 30-45 Minute Drive Time Approximately 1 bedroom apt move: 110 an hour anticipating 6 hours This company: 3 Movers 1 Truck 30-45 (up to 1 hour due to traveling during rush hour) Approximately 1 bedroom apt move: $500 flat rate anticipating 3 hours I truly believe the flat rate model creates no incentive for the movers to work slower and these guys - did not go slow. In the end with an hour of drive time the move took 2 hours! Not only that they were prepared with blankets, tape, tools, siran wrap, and dollys and straps. Upon reviewing the amount of stuff they immediately got right to work. My furniture was treated with care and was wrapped even without me needing to request. They disassembled and reassembled my bed frame. They even used their own blankets at the new apartment as something to wipe their shoes on as it is rainy outside. Even without a poor comparison the day before - this company delivers an amazing relaxing moving experience and I can't recommend them enough. read more

Life Savers! Was in Bay Area when I found out 2 large cartons of expensive furnishings had been sitting on my front porch for 1.5 wks due to West Elm splitting up my large order (w/o telling me) and having 1/2 the order shipped w/o my knowledge and dumped on my front porch without notifying me. And we have neighborhood porch pirates. I had made detailed, specific plans for delivery of all West Elm furnishings for when I returned to Seattle. West Elm was no help at all. Large, heavy cartons and no assistance available. Googled "small moves Seattle" and got Takl online system but they req'd a photo of items to be moved, which was not possible. Googled again and located this company. When I called, immediately a super friendly guy named Lars picked up -- no vm/directed recordings. At 4pm that day, miraculously, he wasn't too far away from my house. Since this job entailed giving the pass code to my attached garage with no one on site for the next few days, I was relieved to deal with a fellow Seattle native (from Ballard). He and an ass't. got there quickly and they did a great job. He then sent me a text photo confirming job finished and follow-up called to confirm job finished. This is a great company and I am so glad I found them. I highly recommend them. read more
