Review Number 3! Once again Dwight and Malcolm were absolute kings, it had been literally years since I last used their services, and this was the biggest move yet. Due to life hitting me like a bunch of bricks I wasn't able to be fully packed like I usually am, so I sprung for the full service move and they handled my items and possessions as if they were their own. They packed my old apartment quickly and efficiently, at our new place they dropped boxes in the correct rooms, asked for guidance on some furniture and even set up our beds and labeled certain boxes to be opened first (for things that you'd need quickly, like food in the kitchen, or personal items for the bathrooms). While I hope not to need their service for a while because I'm in love with my new place, if and when we need to move again we will always reach out to them first! They were great from Day 1 in responding quickly to our queries, being flexible as our plans took shape, and clearly communicating what they needed from us to make sure our move happened. I'm sure we're not alone in having a complicated move. Adult kids moving out meant downsizing our place, so some of our stuff needed to go to our new apartment, some stuff to storage, and yet other stuff to our rental house. Not only did they handle all of this without blinking, but they offered advice as needed to ensure proper care, transit, and storage of our belongings. They are also very thoughtful and hilarious! Leading up to the move they were super responsive and helpful, answering my questions and telling me how they would go about protecting things like our wood floors and heavy/delicate items. During the move itself, they were efficient in loading/unloading- they took care to protect our fragile items and went above and beyond in helping us take large items out to the trash and arrange furniture at our new home. They were also extremely friendly and just nice people all around- even sticking around for a while after finishing to help me find my phone (and took my husband's number in case it turned up in their packing equipment somehow!). They were very responsive, open to questions, and transparent with pricing. The estimate they provided was very accurate and the day of, they actually happened to have more help than expected at no additional charge! I can say hands down, the BCM's are the best moving company I've worked with and I've moved a lot over the years. I've moved internationally and done a number of moves from the West Coast to the East and back to the West, up and down the West Coast and within Seattle. I waited an extra week so that I could work with them rather than another company. My last movers broke a few family heirlooms and then tried to manipulate things to suggest I didn't get the full insurance when I explicitly requested it and had emails to back it up. I had to hire a lawyer to get them to pay up. Needless to say, I was a little distrustful of movers and wanted to make sure they knew that I had some fragile items. They assured me they'd take good care of my things. It was a 2-day job. Pack up my condo in Seattle on Day 1 and drive to Portland to unload and set up my things on Day 2. They were so friendly and extremely careful of not only my items but the elevator, walls, carpet, and were also reliable. They even helped unpack my car with some items I had loaded myself. I watched as they took heavy things around turns and stairs and they were so well aware of how things would fit, it was amazing. I booked Best Coast Movers for a move between apartments downtown. Overall they were a very hard working crew that got the job done quickly and cleanly and I would book them again. Two positive details that stood out from the move: 1) The team had all the necessary "white glove" gear for the move so that none of my furniture was damaged and nothing in the apartment was damaged. However when moving into the new apartment my oversized couch slightly scuffed a wall. I hardly noticed it, however a team member was quick to point it out to me and offered to take it off the final bill. This wasn't necessary, but the honesty was appreciated. 2) There was a snafu with my new apartments loading dock being double-booked that delayed us ~30 minutes, which was completely out of control of the moving company. Out of dumb luck Best Coast had another crew finish a job nearby, and instead of just going home they brought the 3 extra men to help out my move so that we could finish within the original timeframe. read more

These guys are GREAT. I had never moved with a mover before and wasn't sure about any of it. We had only communicated over the internet. They showed up first thing in the morning like we had agreed and went to work on moving. Amazing is all I could say. They packed the truck efficiently and to be on the safe side, I requested a second truck. The second truck was needed. The move was about 200 miles, they stopped for a quick bite to eat on the way, and made the trip quick. Unloaded putting things where they could be efficiently unpacked and were out of there. These guys are incredible and made my move as enjoyable as moving could possibly be considered. They showed up right on time, took great care of my delicate/valuable furniture, and got the job done in under the estimated amount of time. I got a few quotes, but Dwight and Malcolm offered a flat fee, which gave me a lot more comfort for the small project since other companies all warned about going over time (adding more cost) or different rates for the weekend. During my local move with them, the 2 folks who came did move items quickly, efficiently, and with-care. Furniture was padded to protect it. My wife just gave birth and we moved 3 weeks after. We didn't pack anything really -- just what my wife and kids needed in the new house for Day 1. Dwight and team came in late afternoon and we were done by evening. We're talking packing, wrapping breakables in paper, meticulously labeling boxes and making sure they were in the right place. They took apart a bed, assembled it back together, just non-stop intense work. If you watch how quickly they can assemble a box, tape it up, fill it and seal it, you'll realize that getting pros to do the job is absolutely worth it. They wrap corners of your door to avoid dings, lay the floor with mats to keep it clean, thoughtfully felt furniture to not scratch the floors. This is top notch service.
