My two pups stay here for boarding quite a bit, and always head in happy and excited (a good sign they like it there) and come home tired and well cared for. Boarders get to play during the day with the daycare dogs, so they get plenty of exercise and out-of-crate time. The staff does a great job of giving report outs of the experience, any concerns or behavior problems that may have occurred, and are very patient with my pair as they are both loud, bossy, and want to be in on the action. Our mini bernedoodle Bear has been going to Seattle canine club for daycare since we got him as a puppy when he was 6 months old, we've been going there for 9 months now about 2-3 days a week. Bear LOVES it there. The staff/team has been terrific since day 1, consistently thoughtful, friendly, helpful, and it's so so nice to see how much the team really knows about Bear over time. Every time I drop him off or pick him up, they'll tell me a highlight from Bear's day or something about him they've noticed or learned, if he's had a fun day, who his friends are (my favorite update), and they'll also share some observations about him as he's getting older, ie using his voice more. It all shows so much genuine care and interest the team has in Bear and all the doggies. I always feel worry free sending Bear there. We also leave him with lunch and occasional requests and they're always happy to accommodate, including taking him last minute morning of a few times when our plans changed. My dog did one day of daycare and looked frightened when I picked him up. I don't know what happened but I felt he was crated all day and didn't get any playtime. Needed one day daycare on a Saturday. Called last minute the night before and the manager, Luke was very accommodating. He allowed me to do a full day of daycare with a quick evaluation the morning of. They required full vaccinations and online registration prior to visit. On day of visit, we checked in with a very nice girl. She offered to do the evaluation and once our pup passed, we got a full tour of the place. It smelled strongly of urine from the moment we walked in. It was overpowering but otherwise the place appeared clean. Everything is indoors with a few open play areas and a kennel area in middle. Attendants stay with dogs in play areas. I left my dog there from 9-5. They allowed me to pick up after hours on a Saturday which I was very grateful for. Charged $38 for daycare. We loved that the location is super convenient for travelers coming into the city from the areas South of the city. It was only about 12 minutes from Pike Place Market. So convenient to pass it going into and out of the city. Pup did fine and we got a day to sightsee. Thank you!!! read more

A wonderful, caring place to take your dog. We are now on our second dog to be a member of the Club after we had to say goodbye to our beautiful Miles dog at the end of last year. He enjoyed friendship and wonderful care his whole life at the Club so of course when we got our new puppy Gustave we signed him up for membership as soon as we could. He could not be happier there. He's so excited from the moment you turn into the parking lot, so we know he must have a great time. He absolutely adores the people, and they clearly are dog people who really know dogs and care about all of the dogs. Service remains impeccable under the new ownership, as well as a lot of innovation and services added. My dog broke her foot from a fall at Seattle Canine Club on 10/21/2023. Here is the story of what happened. On 10/21/2023 my 3 pound pomeranian, Jam, fell from being placed in a second tier crate and was not secured when the crate was open resulting in a broken foot. I was out of town and received a call from the owner and was told she needed surgery. Surgery was done and I asked the owner if she needed to be kept separate from the other dogs post surgery. He said no and after surgery she was brought back to the boarding facility and he told me she was with her "sisters" now (my other dogs) at the boarding facility. I picked up all 4 of my dogs when I was back in town on 10/22 and saw my dog in the room where all the small dogs are boarded and saw she was with a few other dogs. I had a conversation with the owner about what had happened and asked about safety measures going forward so no further accidents like this would happen again. I was told retraining of the staff would happen. On 10/23/2023 I was able to take my dog to a walk in clinic and her regular vet to review the ER notes from her surgery and to figure out followup care. I was told this break in her foot would take 2-3 months to heal, she needs her splint changed every 5-7 days, she needs to be on bed rest and definitely should not be around other dogs until her bones heal. The only thing holding her bones in place is her splint and should she play too hard even alone or if a dog bumps her she could break her bones all over again. Being around other dogs especially right after surgery my dog runs the risk of rebreaking her bones. Yet, when I had picked my dog up from Seattle Canine Club on 10/22 I saw that she was around other dogs. On 10/29/2023 when I went to pick up my 3 other dogs from boarding, my dog, Peanut, wasn't secured in her carrier and ran out to the lobby unbeknownst to staff. Eventually a staff member came out to the lobby and said "oh there you are!" and admitted to not knowing she missed a zipper when putting Peanut in her carrier. The zippers weren't secured in her carrier allowing my dog to pop out from the carrier. Luckily my dog Peanut jumped out of her carrier inside the building and ran in the lobby and did not jump out outside on the busy street where she could have ran away, been injured or killed by a car. Peanut is my emotional support animal. On 11/14/2023 my two dogs Sandy and Milk were set upon a countertop in their carrier, unsecured, after I came in to pick them up. I told the employee this wasn't okay and he said okay but he did not look at me when I said this. I reiterated why it wasn't okay because I already had another dog fall and break her foot from being up too high abd not secured and again I felt he was being dismissive. When he left the room I told other staff members and they said he shouldn't be allowed near the minis anymore and that this should be his final writeup. I told the owner what happened and he said this is unacceptable and terminated this employee. The owner admitted this wasn't this person's first issue with safety. On 11/15/2023 I decided to stop boarding my dogs with Seattle Canine Club and let the owner know via email. I do not feel comfortable boarding my dogs with this facility anymore. I previously was told I would be compensated for Jam's ongoing medical issues. Due to continued issues I had decided to no longer board my dogs with Seattle Canine Club. At first the owner asked me to keep going with my monthly subscription until the difference in the balance of what they owe me for my dog's medical visits for her broken foot and what I owe them in boarding fees is 0. I reiterated in email that I do not wish to go forward boarding my dogs due to the other two incidents that happened less than a month after my dog broke her foot. I am concerned about how much training is done regarding handling small dogs given that I had 2 other separate safety issues happen in one month, despite being told there was retraining of the staff after my dog broke her foot on 10/21/2023. I am now being told by the owner that Seattle Canine Club is no longer willing to pay for all the expenses they previously agreed to pay for now that I am no longer boarding my dogs with them. I am now being offered a lesser amount as a one time payment and no further payments would be offered besides this one. This payment is not in full for all of my expenses I have previously incurred nor will include my future expenses. I have already told the owner I have at least two more vet visits that alone will cost at least another $800. I am being offered this one time payment alongside a document asking me to agree to not talk to third parties about this document nor about what happened to me and my dogs. But I can't not talk to third parties about the fall my dog sustained as my dog has ongoing vet visits for the next month or two. Due to these reasons I personally would never board my dogs here again. read more

Our boy Teddy is an elderly gentleman nearly 13. We are very particular about where he stays as we go away for quite long periods several times a year. He has been boarding there (since we moved to Seattle) for the past 2 years. I can't speak highly enough of the people and individual care he gets at Seattle Canine Club. Our big buddy has gotten great care here and been well taken care of - we've just done a couple of boarding stints and he has clearly had a good time there. just picked him up and splurged on a serious grooming - I don't think he's ever had such a good grooming anywhere - he had some matting and as a long haired dog, needed some professional care and got it in spades. It's hard to know the experience of our Fudge at Canine Club, but I can say he was happy to see me, but looked really good. He was peppy, didn't smell of urine (which we have experienced elsewhere in the past), and just seemed well-cared for. The care-person gave me a review of his experience that wasn't glowing, he has a few issues, but made me feel they accommodated his quirkiness. I am not sure he went outside during his stay, but we are never away long and all we want is for him to come home not looking physically or mentally abused. He hasn't boarded since pre-covid so we were happy this was such a positive experience. It is also very convenient for us living in central Seattle. read more

Rick and the staff here truly care about the dogs under their care. I came here after my dog got kicked out by another facility for hopping fences. Unfortunately my dog also hopped the fences here, but I was semi-expecting it to happen. What was frustrating though, was that we got kicked out, then on the last day of boarding when I picked up my dog Rick let me know that he's willing to work through the fence hopping issue with my dog because he seemed pretty receptive when he tried to train him not to do it. (Side note: I'm so appreciative of this because there is no way I can recreate this situation at home and train my dog to not hop over the fence at a daycare.) But the next time I brought my dog in, I was asked why I still brought him in when he has a fence hopping issue. That was when I genuinely became confused because I had that conversation with Rick where he was willing to work things out with us. I'm not disappointed that we got kicked out again, just disappointed at the lack of communication between staff. I truly believe staff is attentive to dogs under their care but I just don't know if they talk to each other much because every time I picked up my dog and asked how he did, they didn't have much to say. What I do like about this place though is they are pretty open in terms of availability and the floors have mats in them that are shock absorbing, so good for joints. read more

Rick and his staff are great. You can tell that Rick is not just a typical dog lover--he truly is passionate about them. He will greet my puppy every morning when I drop her off for daycare with "Hello, sweetheart!" or something cute like that. He also provides great advice and tips if your pup is having any kind of issue. Rick is also very patient...my puppy has pooped once in the lobby and thrown up once in the entry way/parking lot and he was very understanding. I didn't feel judged or unwelcome at all and never have. The other staff are friendly too. I really appreciated that when I first came to inquire about daycare, they took the time to give me a full tour of the facilities (even the boarding area, kitchen, etc.) I hadn't called ahead but they didn't hesitate to provide me with a tour. The transparency really gives me peace of mind. The facilities itself are clean and safe. There is a small dog room and a regular dog play area. There is also a gated off area (still a decent size) if a dog wants to chill out or is feeling overwhelmed. Each dog gets their own kennel at feeding/nap time with their own blanket. The kennels are of varying sizes...they even have one that can fit two dogs (for example, if you have two dogs that are best buddies). The kitchen area is small but clean and everything is neatly labeled. They sell a small selection of healthy treats and trendy accessories. They're next to the lobby area and are fun to look at while you wait for your dog to come out when you pick them up. There are always complimentary treats at the front desk too, baked fresh by Rick's wife. I like that when I come to pick my puppy up, her food bag is waiting at the front desk. I use reusable bags but I also see ziploc bag with dogs' names written on them too. It's a nice touch. They don't offer grooming services but can do washing/drying and I think nail trimming for a fee. The only downside to this facility is that the parking is very limited. It's also on a very busy street so getting out after dropping off/picking up can be difficult during rush hour. I also take the obedience classes by Karma Dog Training which are held here. They aren't affiliated, they just use Seattle Canine Club as their training space. I would highly recommend this place if you're looking for daycare, boarding, and/or classes! read more

I am really glad I found the Seattle Canine Club! The last experience I had leaving my dog at a kennel was not good and my dog acted out afterwards by pooping in my office. I got the subtle form of dogspeak and vowed to never make that mistake again! The attention and positive attitude of the staff at the Seattle Canine Club is refreshing. They require a meet and greet with your dog beforehand, which gives you a chance to get a good/bad vibe from the employees and overall environment.
