You can seat yourself anywhere for lunch under the big grass roof or under some accompanying umbrella tables. Servers came by quickly and were attentive to order details. Drink wise I got a classic Arnold Palmer for one visit, and a Virgin pina colada for the other. Both were good! I like my Arny P less sweet, and I love my pina coladas with a good amount of pineapple. For lunch the first time I got the Philly with the pineapple slaw, which is really something different compared to wherever else you can get a Philly. There wasn't a lot of slaw on my sandwich but it was just enough to brighten up the sandwich. The second time I got the chicken Philly, which has your classic fixings just with chicken instead. Fries on the side both times are delicious! Nice and crispy on the outside but fluffy on the inside. One standout memory I have is that my mom wanted a loaded fries that was more vegetable than meat which isn't on the menu. However, they were able to accommodate this and delivered very well to her liking! I remember when Philly Down South was just the food truck and a couple of umbrella tables. My mom says that every time she visits Philly Down South, it seems to get a little larger. I love the current grass hut ambiance that even features a stage for some live music! In my opinion, they should be the prime dining option at Stuart beach. Bathrooms for Philly Down South are really the Elliot Museum's, so make sure to bring proper coverups and footwear if you're coming from the beach. Can't wait to come again when I next visit Stuart!

Per the menu, it's coconut rice, red and green peppers, onions, and pineapple chunks served in a fresh pineapple boat with a sweet and sour sauce. You can choose to add a protein if desired. Really good with the "pure" taste I've experienced from better places in Chicago, New York and even Italy. The basil, tomatoes and cheese were tasted separately but came together so nicely. The crust was really good as well. We also ordered "zesty herb roasted chicken wings". They were good and had a nice flavor from the chili spices. Nonna's was packed but the service was excellent. One change we notices this year is a "service charge" of 18% its added to the bill and is a gratuity shared with the wait staff. I generally oppose service charges that are often labeled 'not a gratuity" but this is not the case here. Service is so good, it is appropriate to add to this service charge when we check out. The replica of the Guernica on one side was super cool. I saw it as a kid in New York and a few years back at the Reina Sofía. But I digress... We ordered the tortilla española, croquettes, gypsy bread and mussels. First concern was the huge size portions. Crap, we're in America. The tortilla dish was like a potato frittata - a mouthful of flavorless mass. The croquettes, we asked for the fish but got spinach, were somehow even worse. A super thin bread coating and mushy interior. Gypsy bread - ugh, like a flat bread gone wrong. And the mussels instead of a pleasant garlic sauce were drown in a concoction with traces of tomato but lacking an identity. OK, we'll recover in dessert. They're out of the Key Lime so let's try this Phyllo thing. Imaging a sponge with chunks of orange on it. Bleh. I understand how hard it is to run a restaurant and I hate writing bad reviews. This place needs a major food upgrade and someone who knows how to make a croquette.
