If there is an issue with your order they notify you immediately and care enough to help you resolve the issue. The delivery option is convenient and has helped me out a couple of times. I love this pharmacy. I loved it before last night, but last night I really needed them. My son cut his hand pretty bad and I was a madwoman looking for butterfly strips. I drove there and they were closed. Not only did they let me in, but that crazy pharmacist (I mean that in a good way) cracked jokes and made me feel better! What an amazing staff!! Outstanding!!! I cannot recommend Sears enough. I MYSELF AM A PHYSICIAN who personally has some complex medication needs and Sear's has been my savior. I have dealt with Walgreens for well over the last decade and have frequently been met with nothing but excuses and roadblocks. I have listened to their hold music for a good chunk of my 30s. Walgreens screwed up one of my medications and left me 1 week short of what I needed. They wanted to charge me $100 for 1 weeks worth of meds when it was their incompetence the created this situation in the first place. Sear's had that 1 week supply filled for $14!!! Even though it's an independent pharmacy, it can still be cheaper! Don't be scared away by the fact that it is an independent pharmacy and not a Walgreens or CVS. You talk to an actual person and get the answers you need in real time. Who knew this still existed! I'm happy to see that Walgreen's and CVS have been shutting down stores left and right and cannot recommend Sear's enough. I have not only switched all of my and my family's prescriptions to Sears, I have referred my patients there as well. For your health and sanity I suggest you do the same. read more

I'd make it 4.5 stars if possible; the only downside to Sear's is that they don't do vaccines. Unlike the bottom-line big chains and their idiot GED/minimum wage pharmacy "technicians" -- where the only person halfway knowledgeable is the actual PharmD -- every person I've dealt with at Sear's knows their trade. I wish I had switched to Sear's Pharmacy years ago! A person answers the phone, getting medicine is easy, staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and they accept my FSA benefit charge card. To my surprise, my co-pays are a little bit less here too. It's a civilized experience compared to the big competitors, plus I get to support a locally owned business. Only area for improvement in my opinion is extended hours. I have to plan a bit better but so far it hasn't been a problem. Easy 5 stars. Highly recommended. read more

Sear's is my go to pharmacy for years. Didn't know that going to Sear's can also save you money. My mom's heart prescription had a $125 co-pay when ordered through a big box mail order pharmacy. Co-pay at Sear's was $0! My mom was so happy!!! read more

Why are you still going to Walgreens? Or CVS? Or Osco? I switched to Sears about five years ago...after "another" pharmacy filled my prescription for allergy medication with the wrong pill. Lucky for me I looked at the bottle on my way out of the store...and questioned it. Or I'd have had a bottle of blood pressure medication. Sears Pharmacy...you don't have to wait for an hour to speak to the pharmacist. If something fishy is up with your prescription...they'll call you. They'll let you know if a "cheaper" alternative is available to what you've been prescribed. They'll call and let you know when they switched distributors...so you won't be shocked that the shape/color of your generic medication has changed. My doctors...LOVE calling a prescription into Sears...because someone answers the phone...and 9 out of 10 times that someone IS the pharmacist. And when I do drop a prescription by in person...I'm out of there in five minutes. And four of those minutes are usually spent deciding what candy I want. They don't try to sell you photo developing, dancing bobblehead dolls, or cheap perfume. So if you go to a drugstore to actually *gasp* buy drugs...Sears is your best bet in Oak Park. And when you're sick as a dog with a sinus infection and don't want to leave bed to get your medicine...they'll deliver it to you. Along with a box of kleenex...cough drops...and their best wishes for your speedy recovery. Proactive customer service. You're not going to get it from the overworked folks at the big three drugstore chains. read more

In a cliche phase - rocks! Sears has been around a looooong time and for those 'in the know...' a few years at current address, but the claim to fame was the corner of Madison & Oak Park Avenue. Big box Walgreens took that corner over. I love Sears! A few reasons why: 1. They rock! 2. They're real! 3. They're affordable! 4. They totally care about the customer - kinda like family checking in on you! 5. They are all about the deal - meds cost but there are times I totally feel like I got a deal! 6. Still, rock it! 7. They always have vitamins 2-for-1...only place I buy them now! So if you're wondering should you go in? Are they reputable? Just walk in with your prescription and try them out. I was getting so frustrated with the chain pharmacies in our area and kept hearing that Sears was the best around. After a particularly bad experience at CVS, I went down to Sears, slapped my ID and insurance card down, and had them create an account for me. Once they completed getting all of my prescriptions filled, they delivered for $7.00. Seriously, they have been just as awesome ever since. Love, love, LOVE them! read more

Sears Pharmacy is a local business and an Oak Park treasure. I have been a loyal customer for six years, ever since moving to the area and deciding to give Sears a try. Upon my first visit I found a great staff, extraordinary prescription prices and little to no wait time. Sears generally fills my prescriptions in just a few minutes. They are also great about helping me call in refills when needed. Sears delivers locally which is a huge help to Senior Citizens or anyone in a medical bind. Sears also sells a broad selection of store items such as supplements, over the counter medications & products for health and hygiene. You can look forward to the the funny signs in the windows and very cool selection of old school candies that will take you back to your younger years. I can't believe how awesome the people are at this pharmacy. They help you deal with insurance crud, tell you when you're better off with something else, actually TALK TO YOU about your drugs. Their prices are very good, but more importantly they help you make informed decisions which can save you money. There is surely a place in the world for CVS and Walgreen's, but I prefer to fill my scripts at a place that doesn't resemble a dollar store. read more

A regular prescription of mine is $20 less at Sears than any other pharmacy. $20!!!! The pharmacists bother to check around past the big drug company deals and find sane prices to pass on to their customers. Service is always quick and pleasant and I couldn't imagine going anywhere else. One thing - check the hours. Sears is open 9a-7p M-F, but I wasn't aware of the 2:00p closing time on Saturday and spent an uncomfortable weekend. So just be aware. read more

The staff are very friendly (despite the joking claims to the contrary), and the signs in the windows are always good for a laugh. The pharmacy delivers, which is a big time-saver, and they can blister-pack your pills for you. (That means they put them in the little bubbles with the foil backing, so it's easier to see if you've taken your meds that day). Kudos to this small pharmacy that's holding its ground against the big guys who keep creeping into the area. *Update: They've moved a few blocks west to 1003 Madison. That location has better parking for now, but it'll be a hassle when the village realizes how much they'd make on metering that block. read more

I have been going to Sears Pharmacy for many years now and I wholeheartedly agree with all the good reviews that have been posted. However, my experience on Saturday shows that their service is so far above any chain pharmacy that there is no reason to go anywhere else. I arrived at the pharmacy just after they closed. The door was locked and the lights were off. I was mad at myself for getting there late because I was going to pick up a prescription for my daughter who was going out of town the next day and really needed the medicine. As I was walking away, three pharmacists appeared in the store and one let me in. They said that they were walking out the back door when they noticed me at the front door and opened up for me. I was able to pick up the prescription! You can't get that kind of service at any chain pharmacy. read more

Add me to the chorus of beyond-satisfied customers. I don't even live near there, but I have a work connection, so I get all my prescriptions there. They keep better track of my medications than I do, and found solutions for me when my insurance was being rotten. The only thing the chains have that they don't is Sunday and longer Saturday hours--and a parking lot. Otherwise, they do everything else better. read more

When you call, you almost always find yourself talking to a pharmacist - with no voice-prompted recording to go through. I've used Sears for years, and even so, I sometimes can't believe they're real. It's almost as though they were ripped from the set of The Truman Show. (Oh, for those new in town, disregard ANY thoughts that pop into your head when you hear the name. This is a completely independent business. No connection or similarity to the chain discount department store featuring Kenmore appliances & Land's End clothes.) These guys epitomize why it's important to prevent massive chains from taking over the world. Probably the most compelling reason to become a Sears customer is that you'll likely need to use ANY pharmacy less often if you patronize this business than if you stick with their competitors--because you'll be healthier. Gone are the days of spending 10-20 minutes sitting around a germ-infested Walgreens waiting room with folks who look & sound as if they're at death's door. The wait time here is virtually nonexistent, for one thing. Also, if a Sears customer were that sick, they'd probably be home in bed taking advantage of the convenient delivery service. Also huge: Even in 2014, they seem to value their role in serving the community just as highly as they do their need to run a profitable business. To illustrate: A few years back, I had a regular monthly Rx which Sears told me they believed my insurance company had over-priced. When they put the bill through my insurance, I was actually paying MORE than the price Sears itself was charging any uninsured Joe off the street for the same exact drug. (And no, my insurance wasn't some fishy deal; it was actually a very solid plan purchased through my spouse's employer, a large company with very good benefits overall.) Because I had a high deductible I wasn't gonna meet anyway, it saved me $ to just pay for it without going through my plan. There was absolutely no reason they couldn't have just billed my insurance and enjoyed the higher profit, but they opted to share this info and save me some much-appreciated cash. One evening last year, I came rushing through their door 2 seconds before closing time, probably visibly frazzled, and they calmly told me that if I'm ever worried about arriving in time to catch them, I should feel free just to call ahead and let them know I'm on my way, and they'd be happy to stay open a few extra minutes to accommodate me. Can you imagine CVS or Walgreens making that kind of offer? It was as though they'd rather be a few minutes late getting home to dinner themselves than worry that a customer might stress about getting there before they lock up. They're also great about communicating with your doctor's office if an issue comes up, & will do things like fill an Rx early if you're getting ready to leave town, even if your insurance co says you aren't yet due for refill. I honestly laugh now to think that I ever hesitated to switch to them because I was afraid of being inconvenienced by the hours (which are admittedly more limited than those of the big chains) or by the fact they have only one location. If this location is even REMOTELY convenient to where you work or live, the pluses here will far outweigh any possible minuses. read more

This is hands down the best pharmacy in Oak Park and probably all of west Chicagoland. Their customer service is outstanding and service is very fast. Tired of waiting for 30 minutes in the Walgreen's drive thru to pick up your refill? Take it to Sears and be in and out in less than 5 minutes. Same goes for new prescriptions. I don't know how many times I have waited almost an hour inside the Walgreen's at Oak Park Ave. and Madison waiting for one simple prescription. If you are not able to leave your vehicle, they offer curb side service upon request. They also will go above and beyond the call of duty. Recently, my wife was in need of refill, so I called up Sears Pharmacy and asked for them to request a refill on behalf of my wife to her doctor's office. Later in the morning, they left me a voice-mail that the refill was denied, so my wife was planning on calling the next day to make an appt with her doctor so she could get a refill. After work, we went grocery shopping, and when we got home, our son said Sears pharmacy came by and delivered a refill of my wife's prescription! I guess a refill was authorized at some point and they were not able to get a hold of us, so they took it upon themselves to deliver the medicine to ensure my wife was taken care of! They didn't even ask for payment when they delivered it. They just told my son that we could pay it the next time we stopped by the pharmacy! Safe to say, I was blown away by this level of customer service and we have transferred all prescriptions to Sears pharmacy. If you believe that your Rx insurance will only work at Walgreen's or CVS, stop by Sears and have them check. You might be surprised that they take your insurance. read more

Sears Pharmacy deservedly won an award from the Village of Oak Park for the business model that puts the needs of patients and reasonable cost first. They even offer curb service . And you will always laugh with the funny signs they put in the window. Wouldn't dream of returning to a chain location for my family's prescriptions after using Sears Pharmacy! When you call-in a refill or bring in a prescription it's filled on the spot and I've never waited more than a couple of minutes for this service. Friendly, fast, knowledgable, reliable, really everything you want in a pharmacy. This location happens to be quite convenient for me but I'd go out of my way to continue to use Sears Pharmacy. read more
