This Walgreens was great for awhile despite taking your life into your own hands parking in the lot and dealing with the gauntlet of POS beggars and derelicts on the walkway. Staff has become totally useless, they would rather hoot and holler with their costumer fields. This place gets one star basically due to the pharmacy. The staff has become outright nasty. The tech was mad because she had to repeat herself twice as she mumbled through a mask and plexiglass COVID sneeze guard. Jie was her name. Just really nasty and not nice at all!

Their only drawbacks are shorter hours than the big stores, and they are not part of that (terrible) iPledge program, so if you need isotretinoin, aka Accutane, you'll have to go to one of the chains.

I made an appointment online, checked in 15 minutes before my appointment via text and the CVS online app. I patiently waited 20 minutes in the "vaccinations only" chair and was never called nor acknowledged. I told two different pharmacy techs that I was there for a vaccine and was told "you'll be called." After 45 minutes I waved the pharmacist over and told him I was waiting for a vaccine. He told me I needed to go to the Minute Clinic, which I did, despite my confirmation text saying to go to the pharmacy counter. I was sent back to the pharmacy and the pharmacist said he'd "found my appointment." So what was supposed to be a seamless in-and-out experience took almost an hour. The pharmacist was pleasant but never apologized for making me wait.

[edit Oct. 01, 2015: I still stand by everything here, but my review was not counted on this page for several months. Now it is. I can't help but wonder how this website works. Anyhow, this is a great pharmacy] By far the best pharmacy in Hyde Park. They actually take the time to LISTEN to you and to work with you, and to address your medical and insurance questions, instead of (cough, Walgreen's, cough) acting like you're inconveniencing them for showing up after you've waited in line for for 30 minutes. These guys are crazy fast, too. I once walked in the door and handed them a new prescription to fill and assumed I would have to come back to pick it up in maybe an hour. I waited for like five minutes while I thought they were simply entering my prescription in the computer, and then they turn around and hand me my filled prescription, just like that. This would have taken a MINIMUM of two hours at Walgreens or CVS - if you're lucky. It's too bad that "Mom and Pop" pharmacies like Katsaros are slowly becoming a thing of the past in most places, but these guys are still here. Highly, highly recommended. [edit: I just found out they have free delivery, too, but I've never used it]. read more

A friend had an accident and needed a shower "transfer" bench. I called Katsaros. They had an appropriate model in stock. It was fully assembled and they delivered it to my friend later in the afternoon. They even changed the "handle" to the other side for us. They were very informative, kind, and professional. After that she said here "here it is, but you can come back at 10am simply because the pharmacist will be here at 10 am" I said, the pharmacy schedule is 9am not, why you can't you open at 10 am then? You can your pharmacist to do it on the phone or WhatsApp because I already exist in your system." Then the young were on the phone with someone: pharmacist or someone else then responded "pharmacist can do it unless he is on the premises or we can deliver it you "my response was ok then I asked here "what is the window of the delivery" she answered "after 5pm" I was thinking may be noon. The story is not about lying, it is about convenience, the pharmacist makes things very convenient for him or her, but never cares about someone who is flying next couple hours, like my case my daughter wants to car to drive five miles to feed her advisor's cat because she is on spring break and after, my daughter will drive 20 miles to Addison, Illinois for practice. This is the second time, it happened to me, the first I was waiting for hour and half till ten thirty ,no apology no nothing. I had to wait because, that my wife's medication, I did not want come empty handed. I will never give them my money again. This Maxcare is a trash.
