I had a very negative experience here lately. The pharmacist Joe was extremely rude to me and accused me of intentionally damaging a product I bought to get a return. I only realized it was damaged AFTER I bought it and opened it but he accused me of intentionally damaging the item and bringing it back to the store to get a refund. He made sure that I knew he thinks I'm trying to get one over on him and made me feel like a con artist. There was no customer service, no apology, and no care at all of me being a long-time customer. The plus sized woman at the register was just as nasty and rude as him as well... Their motto on the website says: "Our goal is to provide the personal service and high level of care that is necessary. Our experienced staff makes each and every visit as pleasant and personable as can be, a quality you wont find at other pharmacies! " My experience was not high level and neither pleasant nor personable. I wanted to complain to his boss but unfortunately, he is the owner and bought the pharmacy some years back from Katsaros. God has a way of righting all wrongs read more

We have used every major pharmacy in our area. All have made mistakes, some of which could have been dangerous. Katsaros has NEVER made a mistake. They also can tell you if you have a drug interaction problem BEFORE they fill a new one. They are personable, know all their customers by name and sincerely care about you. We will wait until they open to fill and refill prescriptions instead of going elsewhere. Cannot say enough great things about about them. By far, my favorite small business pharmacy! When our family moved to Hyde Park we, at first, used it for its convenience and location to our residence, but were impressed and won over by its personalized care and customer service. I especially love that it delivers for FREE. As a parent of small children, it is not always easy to run out for refills or cold/allergy medication. Having free delivery took away a burden. When our family later relocated to Flossmoor (a south suburb), we regretted that we would have to find another pharmacy. Even worse, to end our support of a small business; however, NO! Katsaros Pharmacy delivers to Flossmoor! I highly recommend using Katsaros as your personal pharmacy. read more

On a recent visit to Chicago, I helped a friend who uses this independent pharmacy. What amazing service - a prescription was called in by the doctor, and by the time we got home, the medication had already been delivered to our door. So refreshing to have a drugstore that concentrates on doing its very important job, instead of being a mini-mart or a tiny nook in the middle of grocery store or Walmart. Best pharmacy in Hyde Park, by far. They take just about every kind of insurance, and they fill prescriptions accurately and quickly. They learn to know you personally. They offer free delivery--great if you're sick--and have even delivered medical equipment for me. The store carries an amazing variety of items related to health, which would be hard to find elsewhere. At tax time, they provide a list of all the tax-deductible medical expenditures you have made with them. They even pay for about half an hour of parking at a nearby lot. read more

The worst pharmacy experience ever. I would give ZERO stars if it were possible. Rude, lazy staff that does not pick up the phone or show any inclination of helping a customer. Just one example: I called in 30 minutes before they close, asking if they carry neck collars - I had bad whiplash from a car accident and was in pain. (Note that this is the only place in Hyde Park that carries such medical supplies - it's not like we can easily go somewhere else!!) The nasty staff tells me they don't have any. On my way to CVS, I decide to stop by a Katsaros anyway, to see if they have anything else that might help the pain and whiplash - I walk in, now it's 15 min before they close - and I see what?! A WALL FULL of neck collars and other supplies just like the one I had just called in about!!! Clearly the lazy staff just eanted to close shop and not be bothed with another customer/patient in pain who might actually require the medical supplies these guys sell! I was furious and spoke to the manager right away. Not sure he did anything about her. A typical Hyde Park experience - and not my only bad one at this place. read more
