I'm sure there's theft and the new design (kiosks only) helps prevent that.. but you have to actually create decent sized kiosks (not these stupid 10" tablets) and make sure the software if perfect before you release it. The search feature on these tablets is terrible, doesn't do keyword lookups and just isn't intuitive! I bought 2 things and it took me 5 minutes to find them on the tablet. Absolutely unacceptable. The pharmacy closed early and refused to help me even though I was already in line before closing. I waited while the customer ahead of me was being helped, only to be told "we're closed" when it was my turn. I checked in and everything just for them to say no to me which I questioned "if they were closed why didn't they close the pharmacy doors". That's not how a pharmacy should operate--people rely on this place for medications, not excuses. Staff showed zero accountability and didn't care at all about the situation. If you value your time or need reliable service, avoid this location. They move extremely slow and don't fill medications within proper timing. This was a complete failure of basic customer service. read more

Super small. Almost no otc medicines. Pharmacists here have the worst most jacked up attitudes and treat everyone like they are stupid and also an inconvenience. I hate being forced to come here. Also when I got my Covid vax I said ouch and the lady yanked the needle out of my arm then said "don't say ouch. I'm really good at this" then proceeded to stick the exact same needle right back in my arm to give me the vaccine. read more

Do not go to this pharmacy. They will you the wrong amount and the wrong medication. About 3-4 weeks ago, my son tested positive for Strep. Our doctor prescribed him 7.5 mL of amoxicillin for 10 days. I was very precise everyday using a syringe to give him 7.5 mL of amoxicillin. By the time with was the 9th day, there was only 1 mL of amoxicillin left. Not enough for a full dose. They only dispensed 8 days worth of amoxicillin instead of 10. My son was feeling better for the first week but then once again tested positive for Strep the following week. This was likely due to the fact that there was still remaining bacteria in my son's system that wasn't fully eradicated because he didn't get his full dosage. I then go back to the doctor and they prescribe him again amoxicillin for 10 days and upped the dosage to 8mL. I go back to this pharmacy to receive the medication. It was in a different bottle than they gave me last time but I assumed it was because it was a bigger bottle for his higher dosage. I go home and give my son the medicine, and he spits all of it out. He tolerated the medicine well the first round 2 weeks ago and I remember it smelling like bubblegum. But for the second round, he could not tolerate it at all and it didn't smell like bubble gum. I assumed it was because they didn't add any flavoring to this second round of amoxicillin. I go back to the phamarcy since I explained what happened over the phone. I really was concerned that he wasn't going to get enough of his medicine again since he spit a lot of it out. The pharmacy said they couldn't give me anymore amoxicillin but they could add flavoring. I go back to the pharmacy and the pharmacist says this is a different medication than the one I got last time. The medicine they gave me was Amox Clav and it has a fruity flavor, which is why my son did not like it. She seemed to think my doctor prescribed me a different medication. However, I pointed out to her on MYchart that my son was indeed prescribed amoxicillin. She then had to look up in the computer and realized that they gave me the WRONG medication. It was suppose to be amoxicillin and they gave me Amox CLAV. This was for my 3 year old son. He could have easily been allergic to this medicine or they could have given me a medicine that was inappropriate of a 3 year old boy . Fortunately, that did not happen but it was pure negligence on their part. I appreciated that the pharmacist was very apologetic, but it does not excuse the negligence for not checking on your computer the correct medication when it gets sent from the doctor, the label when you dispense the medicine in a bottle and for the pharmacy tech to check again the medication during the check out process. There were 3 failed attempts to check that the medication was correct. I then requested to speak to a manager. She seemed very apathetic during my explaination and simply said "I can see that could be upsetting for this misunderstanding. I will make sure we create an event that will notify the higher ups". She did not apologize for her store or her pharmacy and did not seem to demonstrate concern or remorse. I then asked "Can I make a formal complaint? Like on paper? I would like to see some follow through that this will not happen again. Since this was very negligent and my son could have easily gotten ill or worse. And this was the second mistake I dealt with already". She said there was no formal complaint I could make but I can call back the store and speak to her to see what happened after I spoke to the higher ups. I first of all do not believe there was no official process for me to make a formal complaint on paper for such a big retail store/pharmacy. I do not think my complaint was taken seriously. If Walgreens would like to contact me to further rectify this, I would be happy to receive it. I am going to look for other means to file a complaint so someone else will not be given the wrong medication and become seriously ill or die. read more

Do not go to this Walgreens if you need to pick up at the pharmacy. Avoid it like the plague. There are two staff members who are always rude, mean, and incompetent -- and ALWAYS the ones I have to talk to. I was once SCREAMED at like a child in front of 10 people when I asked a simple clarifying question about my medication. Today was the final straw -- I am on a medication that I need to take every day, no exceptions. I called ahead on a Wednesday when I saw I was running low to ensure they received the script from my doctor, which he had sent in 2 days prior. They said they had to order the medication, and it wouldn't be ready until Friday. Went in on Friday, they said they still needed to order it and it would be ready by Monday. At that point, I would have been 4 days off my medication, which is unacceptable. I took a deep breath and just said it was all I could do for now. Called a final time today, Monday, I am now feeling the effects of not taking my meds. The woman who picked up said they needed to order it still. At this point, I am furious and said (calmly) -- "I have called 3 times in the past week, and every time someone claims they need to order this medication. Clearly no one is ordering it. I have been off my meds for 4 days and --" at this point, the pharmacist hangs up on me without a word. I shouldn't have been surprised, as she had an attitude with me the second she answered the phone. I wish I got her name. I will never be stepping foot into this Walgreens ever again. Just a blatant disregard for the wellbeing of customers and consistently a horrible experience. Shame on them. read more

The pharmacy is always backed up, and the pharmacists are not nice. This is the closest Walgreens to me so I have no other choice, but I always feel berated here by staff whether that be in person or on the phone. When asking for assistance to even add in a manufacturer coupon for RX, it's a huge ordeal and some staff don't take the time to do so unless you ask. read more

Located at Roosevelt and State corner, this normally convenient store has terrible customer service on Sundays. The manager is not working on Sundays and if there is a problem, you have to wait a few days to resolve. I came in the store and the employees were casually chatting. I waited a few minutes for them to resolve their conversation and then I had to get their attention for the photo department. I didn't find them very helpful or observant. I asked for my photo and the women gave me the envelope. To my surprise, the photo was bent in half. The employee seemed to think that this is acceptable. I said i wanted a reprint. She said if you want it today, you have to pay at another store because we are out of paper. Then can you reprint on Wednesday? She said yes. I asked Will the paper be available for photo? She said Thursday. So I said that I can be available and back until Friday and will call before to see it was ready. She said yes and said come back Thursday and the photo should be available. But I just informed her that I would be in on Friday. I don't think that she was paying attention to me. Thiis is not good customer service. read more

Pharmacy is fine but don't bother for anything else- kiosk is broken half the time, and you'll get yelled at if you order something that is actually stoked in their minimal self check out store section... but you won't know what is stocked where. SOS: WALGREENS CLEAN UP THIS LOCATION! FAST! Sadly, I have to agree with the other reviews. It is the dirtiest Walgreens I have ever visited (it is the dirtiest pharmacy I have ever visited world wide). In fact, I have sent e-mails to their corporate offices with similar dirty photos posted by other reviewers. During a pandemic, cleanliness is paramount and yet this place seems to be getting dirtier. I am switching to delivery or will be walking a little further down the street (sad because it is so close to my condo). There are Walgreens 5 blocks away on State that are so clean one could eat off the floor or use their counters as an operating room table. This place is disgusting. I have seen RATS here on two separate occasions. And it is no wonder-the place is very poorly upkept and is constantly dirty. Even though it's a heavy foot traffic location due to its closeness to the CTA, it is inexcusably disgusting. I used to come here for the pharmacy but had to change due to its condition. Unfortunately, the pharmacist and pharmacy staff here is great and have great customer service, but not the rest of the store. I started driving PostMates in the South Loop so I wanted to get my niece some Easter candy. I saw that there is a garage at 11th and State and the sign states to use the entrance off 11th. Get to the garage and it doesn't specifically say for Walgreens customers. I called the store and I had to talk to a manager because the person answering the phone didn't have an idea. Go around the block and inside and up and to the store. Well I go inside and get my candy. Go to the register and the clerk asked me if I wanted to donate to "red nose." I said "yeah sure." She clearly didn't hear me and didn't ring it up. So I told her I wanted to make a donation. She asked me if I wanted a red nose and I said no. I see on the POS screen a nose was rung up. She gets the manager to ring up the red nose and my parking validation because she couldn't do it(surprise surprise) and she copped an attitude about the red nose thing. As I was heading west on Roosevelt after leaving this subpar Walgreens I saw another one that actually had surface parking. I should've known and should've gone there instead. read more

Apparently the Olay Regenerist products are what's hot in the streets, because they're kept under lock & key here. I needed an Olay Regenerist cream cleanser. The clerk unlocked the cabinet and obliged me, then asked "Are you done shopping?" I said no. She said, "Ok, well it will be behind the counter waiting when you're done shopping..." So, really Walgreens...you trust a clerk in a bad lacefront weave, bad fake eyelashes and bad, pop-off nails, but you don't even trust your customers enough to let them physically put Olay Regenerist into a shopping basket? Because they might steal it? Olay Regenerist? And you think I'm gonna steal that in a half-full basket of items I'm clearly *already* planning to purchase? GTFOH. Walgreens? The front store is terrible. Photo services are advertised but not actually available (i.e. passport pictures not possible). Front store staff never pick up the phone. "Security" walks around loudly taking personal calls, hands in a Cheeto bag. It's pretty gross. Go elsewhere. read more

Ordered photos which were to be ready the day before my deposition. Got confirmation that the order would be ready the day before. Went to pick up pictures on my way to the deposition but Walgreens had not acknowledged my order, nor started on my order. I had 140 pictures to print. I have never had good service at this pharmacy location EVER. The people who work here say one thing and do another. "Your script will be ready in 5 minutes" but you have to ask time and time again to have it filled while you're waiting & its "in progress right now". I hereby dub this location "Ghetto Walgreens". Half of their merchandise is under lock and key, and for some reason, only one person in the store has the key. The first time I hit this, I was trying to buy razor blades. I found the ones I want then notice there is a lock. You know how stored hang merchandise where they use a little hole in the case to hang it on a metal rod in the wall? Well Ghetto Walgreens puts locks on the tip of the metal rod. Brilliant system- obviously the thieves could never resort to just tearing the 1/8th of an inch of cardboard that holds the blades on the rod... But wait there's more. They apparently only have one person in the store that has the key. BRILLIANT! As long as that one person is available, and not more than one person in the store wants something at a time, they are covered. Obviously they have realized that this is a problem, because they have come up with a system where you can push a button in the deptarment when you need the keyholder.... This nice system repeats a fun message over the PA about how a customer needs assistance in the deptartment until their keymaster comes and shuts it off. BRILLIANT you can keep track of where the keymaster is as the different messages go away one by one... It is almost comical watching the employees sitting around the front register chatting away as you wait for the keymaster while sitting at the electronics counter.... Maybe you could ask if you could just tear the 1/8th inch of cardboard and help yourself.... read more

This review is for the Walgreens pharmacy staff. I find them to all be extremely fast and nice. There isn't any other pharmacy I would go to at this point. I've had to sit and wait before and saw what that staff has to deal with on a daily basis and some moments it's like a circus (usually during rush hour). That location brings a diverse and busy crowd of people because it's right next to the "L" . I'm always impressed by how I (usually) get my scripts filled faster than predicted! Both pharmacists, Jamie and Howard are always helpful and kind. The pharmacy tech professionals are also really patient and nice, they have to deal with a wide range of personalities and I'm always impressed how they handle the "busy rush" times. read more

I actually started mail order prescriptions when possible to avoid going here. The regular staff is hit or miss regarding helpfulness and the store is always packed with a long wait at the register.
