I tipped the delivery driver through this store's app and website checkout, but the store used DoorDash as a third party and didn't pay the driver. Both the store and DoorDash refused to resolve it when I asked. Happened more than once to delivery drivers of mine too. Sure I have a terrible DoorDash rating now because of this too. My friend and I came here on Friday night to pick up a pack of Press seltzers. It's walking distance to her apartment and her nearest liquor store that was still open, and it's also conveniently located next door to All Stars where we were headed for an order pickup. We were able to find what we were looking for, but the service piece is missing. We weren't greeted upon entering, and we weren't offered any help. I'm used to even a 7-Eleven would say something along the lines of Hi, welcome in, let me know if you need help etc. As a small local business, you'd want to do at least the bare minimum, especially since there's competition and customers don't have to come here at the end of the day. That's my biggest suggestion for improvement. Other than that, they do have a great selection of alcohol and other miscellaneous things you'd find at a 7-Eleven. I'd recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for a nearby liquor store, but don't expect the service to be great. They'll likely have what you're looking for, you may have to move some things around to get to it. My friend had to move another box of alcohol to get the one she wanted. read more

Is this place a joke? I was excited to see some quality things on their menu while ordering delivery online. I didn't receive 9 items that I ordered! And ones I did receive were old, busted up, or completely wrong. They could have at least called me to tell me they were out of so many things. So here's the deal. It's hard to give just one star because they are the only store in the area that carry good Belgium beer. But tonight was the last straw. Every time I have come into this bodega, I feel like a suspect. The staff are rude and unwelcoming. A simple hello really goes a long way. Tonight's interaction is the crème de la crème. The younger long-haired guy didn't say hi, bye, kiss my ass, nothing when we walked in. I got my Belgium beer and a local fav and went up to pay. He condescendingly looked at me without any verbal exchange. The total came up and I used Apple Pay. Their third-rate b-budget machine required a pin for Apple Pay. Only hacker devices require a pin with Apple Pay, that's the effin point of Apple Pay. So it declined. Imagine that. So I put in my chip-encrusted credit card, which was accepted. I will be closely monitoring my credit cards for fraud. Shady business here with ZERO customer service. You just lost my business until you figure out what good customer service is...this is the one thing I love Amazon for, squeezing out the businesses that don't know how to appreciate their customers. read more

Ahhh my local convenience store as they have just about everything you need here! Of course the convenience will cost ya lol! Some things here can be more expensive than your normal places (most expensive ice I've ever purchased), but again its good if you live nearby and don't feel like trekking it a few extra blocks to hit up the nearby Marianos, Jewel, Trader Joes or Target. It's great for this area full of condos to have a quick stop pantry shop. It's not so great how friggin expensive everything is. A pack of Starburst for $1 and the cheapest gum I could find was $1.69, ugh. If you need something quick, it's great. You can run in & run out if you live right there. Or if you're passing by, you can easily park on the street with blinkers & run in. If you go to Target a block away, you have to deal with parking in their massive parking lot. No issues with service the few times I've been in. Guys aren't overly friendly but they definitely aren't rude in any way. Wow! Another great addition to the South Loop. This is right on Clark in Printer's Row Burnham Pointe Building. Super modern place that allows you to order groceries by text - if you wish. They have super friendly owners and you can find bread and pastries, vegetables and fruits. They have coffee and wine. Option of online ordering with home delivery and curbside pick-up. read more

All the whining about pricing is ridiculous. It's called a convenience store. They are convenient and extremely close for a lot of the residents here. When I need certain items I love being able to go here so easily. Yes prices are high on some items but it saves on driving or ubering too and def time when you can't walk to Trader Joe's which the one spot I love. Things are organized and they have a great beer and wine selection. I recommend it for quick shopping needs. Just remember, you pay for convenience. read more

It's a convenient store and I like its cleanliness. The smell inside is nice. There's a lot of different variety ng food in every section. They are organized and full of stuck well. You can choose any liquor you want , branded or local. I like this store because they sell a lot of candies and chocolates. You can buy candies in a container. They have a lot of snacks. I'll always find everything I need.  I bought a lot of junk food for the movie marathon later. It's good that they have Doritos and Popcorn. A also buys some wine for the drinks later. I have no problem with their customer service. The staff is so welcoming. They greet you with a smile. They carry a huge selection of alcohol (especially wine, beer and spirits). Convenient location for many apartment and condo buildings. Since new management, the place has improved in quality and cleanliness as well! They have most little things you need on a daily basis (milk, basic veggies, snacks, etc). It's a convenience store, so expect to be ripped off a bit. Wine selection appears to be decent and they have a good variety of beers, but here are my two big issues with the place... One, their beer is old. Like, really old. IPAs and anything hoppy needs to be as fresh as possible, no more than 3 months, and most of their stock is at least 5 months old. For what they charge, that's a big ding right there. Two, only half of their beers have price tags. They probably know not to tag their "rarer" beers since it's a lot less likely that someone will put beer back after finding out how much it is at the register, but it's a bad and dishonest practice. Go to Printer's Row Wine Shop on Dearborn where everything is fresh, they have a better selection and best of all, it's cheaper. Need milk? They have it. So that's great! read more

Fortunately, I've not experienced what the first two reviewers have noted. I have some of my own notes: Location: 5 out of 5 (South Loop) If you happen to live in the south loop, it's actually quite convenient since it's in the ground floor of the Burnham Pointe apartments. Parking is usually available on the street, though most of my "errands" here have all been on foot due to the super close proximity from my place. As others have noted, it competes with Target and 7-Eleven from a geographical perspective. Service: 2.5 out of 5 I wouldn't say the guys that work here are "rude" or "mean." The guys that I presume are the proprietors are "nice enough" and they probably work stupid long hours so that their second generation Indian-subcontinent kids can have their own kids born into middle class like it ain't no thang. The part time help guys are a little nicer, but still not what I would consider to be "happy." I mean, they ask me if I want a bag for my beer, and they say, "thanks" as I walk out. Good enough. Selection of Beer: 3 out of 5 I've not perused the aisles (in the real meaning of the word, not the mistaken definition of 'browse') for foodstuffs or convenience items, but their beer selection will do in a pinch. I'm actually pretty impressed by the amount of craft brewers they carry: 3 Floyds, 2 Bros, Bells, Flying Dog, Chimay, etc. They've also got your typical run of the mill American style light lagers and well-established imports like Corona, Guiness, and Heineken. I mean - could I walk another block to Printers Row Wine and find tons more beer? Yes. But if what I drink on a regular basis can be found here if I'm rushed for time, is there a need to do that? No. Price of Beer: 2.5 out of 5 Eh...noticeably more than other places where you might find craft beers. Craft six packs are 1 - 2 dollars more expensive than anywhere else, and craft 12 packs are 2 - 3 dollars more. I think once there was some mixup with the bar code, and I got a 6 pack of beer for 4.99 plus tax, which was awesome. The next time I went, it was properly tagged at 8.99 or 9.99. Boo. Like I said - I come here if I'm pinched for time, and with that in mind, maybe the prices are worth it. Cleanliness/Organization: 3 out of 5 I don't recall seeing anything that was "dirty" or unorganized. Things seemed to be running ok after they initially opened up in Q3 of 2011. Overall: 3 out of 5 (beer centric) Close enough that I don't dismiss them if I'm in need of craft beer and I've forgotten to grab it on my weekly errands. Expensive enough that it prevents me from coming here regularly. I think for awhile they were trying to reach out to the college students by doing wine tastings and nominal discounts -maybe that will pick back up as more students get back after the summer is over. read more

Simply put: the previous two 1-star reviews are absurd. Reasons I LOVE this store: 1) It's open until midnight every night except Sunday, when it closes at 10pm. 2) It's immediately downstairs from my apt., and I don't even have to walk outside to get there (amazing in the winter). 3) While they could overcharge ridiculously for the amazing convenience (see #2), they don't -- their prices are in line with Target (which is nearby). 4) They have a pretty exotic beer selection. It's not just your typical Coors, Miller, etc., but truly good beers. Today, for example, I got a limited release "Lagunitas 'Little Sumpin' Wild'," which is epic. 5) Their selection adapts over time. When they first opened, they didn't have many home/bath products -- but they learned their business and their clientele and adapted. Now, can often find that random something at the store without making the trip to Target. I feel genuinely sorry that a private business owner has to fear getting 1-star reviews because of one or two childishly unhappy customers, but that's just the modern age in which we live. Not entirely sure why the ratings for this place are so low. Sure, some things are overpriced, but their liquor and wine selection deserves kudos. They have anything from the normal, commercial liquor up to local distilleries. They have three aisles of wine, ranging from $6 bottles all the way up to $80ish bottles (or that's the highest I've noticed). It's right in the middle of the south loop and the hours are fairly convenient - I find myself here at least twice a week. The employees (owners?) are rather quiet, but as nice as can be. These guys are great, Owners are really great and always open for feedbacks and improvements. I have asked them to get few different beers and wine (for my wife), they got them in the store in week or two. Not to mention their prices are really really good. I leave in a same building and when I shop and don't have enough hands to carry things someone from the store always helps me. I saw few unhappy comments but due to nature of small business and crazy credit card processing fees, they might have limitation. The new, much larger store (two doors down from the previous location) is fantastic. They have a great liquor selection including many harder to find items (several different mescals, top shelf mixers, local craft and seasonal beers, a range of ciders), and a surprisingly well stocked range of staples and food items. Every time in the last three years we've run out of some vital ingredient while cooking and decided to see if Urban Pantry has it to save a walk to the supermarket, they've come through. Their prices are great and, unlike some nearby stores, are actually posted, and they don't mess around with silly loyalty club nonsense. The staff are professional and helpful but never smarmy or chatty, which is a relief. Of all the liquor stores in the neighborhood, shopping here is by far the most pleasant experience. It's also the cheapest and has the best hours. Going anywhere else would be a mistake. read more

Forget quick convenience, this place always just leaves me annoyed and frustrated wishing I had walked the extra block to Target, 711 or any of the other convenient stores in the area. The staff is extremely rude and always trying to get you to spend more money, I have been told there is a $3, $5 and $7 minimum to use credit, as well as no minimum at all... varies depending on the amount of my purchase. Just bought a few beers from there.... All expired. Gross! They taste awful and spoiled. Rude staff and not friendly all. One time I went in there and didn't buy anything he literally asked me, "What, you're not buying anything?" Unbelievable horrible customer service. Avoid this place like the plague.
