This Walgreens has a greatlocation. I am grateful they have many different goods and items for convenience. It is nice to have a store nearby where you can obtain food as well as toiletries and other commodities. I have been able to check out quickly here. If I could give negative stars I would. I will NEVER come back here for the pharmacy. My script was put in at 10:40. I call at noon to verify it's ready and after four bots I was told that they didn't have. Called my Dr they said they put it in. Call back and a second person says they finally have it but never put it through so it will take at least half hour. It is now ready at 3:30pm. It's insane that they would receive a script and just ignore it??? The drive through line moves at a snail on the back of a sloths back pace it's ridiculous. read more

Be very, very careful using this pharmacy because they make medication errors. I picked up a prescription antibiotic for my daughter only to find when I got home that they hadn't mixed it with liquid and had just given me the powder. Thankfully I knew that was wrong and returned to the pharmacy. They were closed so I spoke to the store manager, who seemed totally unconcerned and said there was nothing she could do but suggested that I try a different Walgreens with an open pharmacy. The staff at the other Walgreens were horrified when they saw I had received unmixed medication, apologized profusely, and said over and over how good it was that I brought it back and didn't try to mix it myself or god forbid give my daughter the powder because she could have overdosed and it would have been very serious. Seeing the difference in the level of concern from the staff was eye-opening. Mistakes happen, but if you aren't worried about making mistakes with people's medication, that's pretty scary. Makes me think mistakes must be happening here all the time. read more

I placed an online order for some photos and this was the closet location to my house. I was disappointed with some of the photos. One of the associates Willie was nice to assist me. The wait time was quick and easy. My photos were ready in no time. Very friendly and helpful associates. Next time I need to print out photos I would rather come into the store. read more

No wait at all today, super quick through check-out. I grabbed a few things I needed then popped across the parking lot to Ulta for a few specialty haircare items that Walgreens doesn't stock, which is understandable, as not everyone's teenager dyes their hair purple and suddenly needs purple-infused sulfate-free shampoo. A lot of Walgreens feel dated to me, but this one feels brighter, better stockked, and tidier than most. Free lot parking. Handy location with Whole Foods across the way. read more

11:58 (2 MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT) Our local Walgreens keeps their doors open late, thank goodness. With the nearby Trader Joe's closing at 9pm and Target shutting down at 10pm, it's nice to have one store that isn't seemingly on Mormon time. This location sees plenty of traffic from eastbound Lake St and northbound Harlem Ave. We've been able to grab some miscellaneous things (box of ice cream bars, makeup brush, strawberry milk) and beer at reasonable prices. The dry goods like ramen are pretty expensive, so I'd advise against doing major grocery shopping here. The pharmacy closes at 10pm, the optical center closes at 7pm, and the photo counter/main store is open til 12am. Employees aren't always the most social bunch, but I've never had any issues here before. Hobos occasionally hang out near the doors in front. * TL;DR * I wouldn't recommend sprinting over here at 11:58pm, but if you found yourself in a late night pickle and needed......late night pickles, I'm sure the overpriced jars of Vlasic on their dusty shelves will satisfy the cravings of your weird girlfriend/pregnant wife. It's yet another tree-killing corporation that hands out paper receipts over a mile long. I wonder too, do we really need a Walgreens AND a CVS pharmacy within exactly 600ft of each other?? Pharmacy - Third time trying to pick up a prescription is not the charm. They piecemeal information, unhelpful and simply do not care. First time they told me it was the insurance. It wasn't. Second time it was because they need clarification the doctor (NEVER mentioned this the first time). I got the doc to clarify ASAP. Third time, they just needed more time. It is a prepackaged script, no counting or decanting required. There are three Walgreens near me and all are the same. I love the photo department at Walgreen, even when I make a mistake I can return the photos, well today I did just that and reordered while at the store, the cashier lady said I had two orders in front of mine but she saw I was waiting and she did mine first so I wouldn't have to wait. Today I needed a few items and went into the River Forest store on Lake Street just 4 blocks from home. I immediately went back to the school supplies to purchase some craft stuff. As I approached the aisle I noticed a man about a third of the way in the aisle, turned and went down and around to the backside of the aisle. I went to grab something off the bottom shelf, came up and a cart ran into me coming from behind me. The young lady behind the cart was an employee who said 'excuse me', after she ran into me. I told her it would have been better had she said that BEFORE she ran into me, she stated she did. I did not hear her, and she proceeded to argue with me. What ever happen to SOCIAL DISTANCING? When she saw me and the other gentleman in the aisle she should have backed up and went down another aisle or waited. Turns out she was only walking through our aisle on the way to another aisle. I walked toward the front of the store and told a Manager that Walgreens was not getting my money today, because of a 'rude employee's, and left, going to CVS for my purchases. I have had good customer service at this location, but mostly POOR customer service. I will not be spending my money at this Walgreens location. P.S. Walgreens news flash, teach your rude employees about customer courtesy and social distancing, we are in the middle of a healthcare crisis with COVID-19. read more

My mom was in the hospital with pneumonia and the doctor prescribed meds. Walgreens sent a notice of a filled prescription and I went to pick it up for my mom. I talked to the pharmacist about the price $471 and I wasnt sure, she said the are other meds but it was the best... i purchased the meds to help my mom. she was released from the hospital and her meds changed. I took the unopened still sealed bag back to Walgreens. The same pharmacist said they could not take it back. She never mentioned that the time of purchase. When you're trying help your parent, I feel the pharmacist should say they don't take back meds to prevent a $471 loss. I'll never shop at Walgreens and moved all prescriptions read more

I frequent this Walgreens for little essentials that I may need and mostly to pick up my photos whenever I have an order ready. The photo department is pretty straight forward. I've never had any issues with my pics or holiday greeting cards. I do not get my Rx's filled here so I can't comment on the pharmacy department. I overall find most of the toiletries and grocery shelved items to be over priced compared to other local stores such as Trader Joe's or Target which I prefer. The great advantage of this store is that it closes at midnight when all the other local stores (Whole Foods, Target, Trader Joe's) close much earlier. There's always a long line and they seem to be understaffed. There's been plenty of occasions where the line is so long that it is around the optical center. You will see two people at the registers working as fast as they can and people in the line getting frustrated. That's not what frustrates me. What ticks me off about a situation like this is when you see the manager just standing doing nothing... absolutely nothing! She could get on the third register and help her team out. I can't even tell you how many times I've have seen this and that's just not the case. The rest of staff is always polite. I wish I knew her name... next time I'm going to have to ask her or look at her tag. There is the kindest lady always working the register. It doesn't matter how long the line is or how overworked she may be. She is so sweet. She always ask me and everyone in line how their day is going. Some people don't bother to ask her back which I think is so rude. I'm not perfect nor do I walk around clenched up tight to be and certainly I know that my shit stinks just as much as the person next to me. But when someone takes two seconds just to ask me "Hi, How are you?" or "How is your day going?" I always respond and ask them back. It's called human decency... which clearly more and more people in this world are lacking. Overall my review: The store itself needs more great employees like they already have. The management team is needs to care about the customers and the store and or the they need to be fired. This is my neighborhood Walgreens so I will continue to shop here. If I could give this pharmacy a 0, I would. They used to be very good, but in the past few years they have gone steadily downhill. Don't pick up a partial refill! Wait for the whole thing if you can. You'll never see the rest of the prescription. I'm routinely texted to say that there is a problem with the order, only to call and find that no one knows why I got the text. They had just paused the refill. I could go on! Terrible "service!" We are now in the process of moving to another pharmacy system. read more

I have used this Walgreens Pharmacy 4 times in total and there has never been a single time when there are no issues with filling my prescription. 4 days ago I dropped off a prescription; after waiting for it for an hour I was told it had to be ordered and it would take 3 days. Today is day 4, I called to check on the status only to find out the prescription was never ordered. This is a level carelessness I just can't understand. read more

At the time of this writing the composite average Yelp score for this Walgreens is 2.0. This score needs to be reevaluated immediately. I come here for the minute clinic, I come here for medication, I come here for supplies, and I come here for beer. Where else can one purchase a 12-pack of Miller High Life bottles (the champagne of beer) for $6.50? This unbelievable price is from the 1980s or some other far away time. Sure I have had occasional issues with retrieving my medication- but Miller High Life for $6.50! The same 12-pack of beer can be purchased for $9.99 from any number of nearby locales. Go to Whole Paycheck to buy your meat and produce, but buy your beer from this Walgreens. read more

If you are submitting a refill by phone and plan on picking up the next day - tell the phonebot you want it same day so it will be ready for sure the next day when you go. Nothing beats going to pick up at 9:30am when the phonebot promised 9:00am and the refill isn't ready. What a huge waste of time. read more

This location is lacking in some areas but I am still a loyal patron. The check out lines are always long, the top tier sale items are often not offered or sold out and service can be non-existent at times but it's conveniently located so it's a go to location for many people. If you are shopping to get the sales ad items or are pressed for time, you should visit the Madison location. Lake Street will frustrate you. Pretty much every time. read more

This being my neighborhood Walgreens, I've been here countless times. They don't have the biggest variety of products as other, larger stores but they have all the essentials. There are never many employees around the sales floor to help you out but the cashiers are always friendly. I really like the Advocate Minute Clinic at this location. However, the Walgreen's pharmacy here is terrible! Very rude staff in the pharmacy and when I came out of the clinic the last time, very ill with a temp of 103.8, they had me sitting and waiting for my Rx for over an hour! I finally left and filled it at the location at North/Harlem...quickly! I understand they can get very busy, but if there is going to be a clinic there, with ill people needing medication, they should be taken care of expediently. ***Still no better in 2019, but this time it's my daughter with a high fever and +strep. This Walgreens is okay. I don't think I've ever used it for prescriptions, but I've definitely stopped in to get a few odds and ends. The isles are a bit crammed compared to other Walgreens, but I've been able to find everything alright. I've seen some products priced more expensive than the same products at Jewel-Osco. Conversely, there were other things that were 50% less than Jewel! The check out line is slow. The employees have had conversations with each other and not looked at me at all while scanning my items. I think that's pretty rude. I hate the parking lot. It's got too many weird intersections and is an accident waiting to happen. No, scratch that. I've had an accident happen in this parking lot already. I would give it only one star except that I'll probably continue to stop in from time to time. After all, it is convenient when buying last minute cards or personal items. read more

A slow death from lack of medication is preferable to a wait in this never-ending pharmacy line. Don't go here after work. Don't go here before work. Don't stop by on your lunch hour (unless it's a lunch twohour) Don't swing by the drive through on your day off. Don't pop in because it's convenient to your bus, train, plane, or automobile. Don't "quickly" stop on your way to the airport to pick up prescriptions you need while on a 10+ hours flight. Unless you want to join a queue wait that rivals opening day at Great America (or Cedar Point for my fellow Michigan born-and-breds) don't get your Rx from this Walgreens. Go to ANY other one. Including one in Hawaii, which is what I did when this Walgreens failed to have mommy's little helper ready in time for my vacation. read more

I'm a loyal patron of this place but with target down the street I think that will be ending and quickly. Today I had a few items to purchase in addition to dropping off a prescription. The pharmacist stated I'd have my items in a hour. After 4.5 hours I called to check in and see if there was an update. The automated message stated they were still working on my items so I opted to talk to the pharmacist. When I spoke to a woman, she was very short. I provided my information and she said "yes I need another hour" I stated that I'd been waiting almost 5 from when I last heard the same response and she then told me she's "too busy with other people and hung up the phone" I didn't realize that my business was less important than anyone else that was there for the same reason. Also when I was there buying an item I was looking for store clerks to find an item. After walking around for 10 minutes there was no one to be found that wasn't at a register. I checked out with the items I had and asked about another item and the woman started, "I'm Not sure, it's somewhere in this place." Well, thanks for your assistance too! read more

I don't like to write negative reviews. I really don't. But this is hands down the absolute worst Walgreens and worst pharmacy I've ever dealt with. My sob story? Well it's my significant others. He was prescribed a specialty medicine that the pharmacy staff said they could fill, no problem. They said it would be an extra day or two since it needed to be ordered, which is fine because it's a several thousand dollar a month medication that they don't keep in stock. Three days later it's approved by insurance and filled. Except the pharmacist only partially filled it. Rather than order the correct doseage, they got him half his first months dose. When called out on this, they claim they'll fix it. Over a week later (and past the date when he needs his second dose), they've decided to treat it as a refill and refill his ongoing prescription as their way of correcting the mistake. Um, what? Barring the fact that I absolutely cannot fathom why the pharmacist sees this as the best option, it has turned into a super sized ordeal as we try to explain this situation to his doctor, his insurance, and the pharmaceutical company that is providing copay assistance. Eveyone asks what the fuck the pharmacist was thinking. I wonder this myself. And the person who suffers is my significant other. On the recommendation of his insurance we are taking business elsewhere. Walgreens corporate has been involved and their answer is "we show the prescription filled". Nobody seems to care about the fuck up, and not a single person has apologized. This is absolutely unacceptable. Based on other reviews I see I'm not the only person who takes issue with how dirty this store is and how surly the the staff are. I will happily inconvenience myself by filling prescriptions elsewhere, as this pharmacy and pharmacist have proven themselves incapable of filling prescriptions properly. read more

is there any walgreens pharmacy that has a single pharmacist who isn't completely useless? They change their times with no notice anywhere but on the window for when you get there. I have sporadically patronized this Walgreens since the late 90's, when I used to work at the Whole foods across the parking lot. It is usually dirty, with shelves in disarray. There is usually a long wait to check out, rarely more than one cashier working at a time. I know that working at Walgreens is not a glam job. Clearly the management here is not inspiring their staff to give their all, or even 1/3 of their all. I don't go here unless I really have to. read more
