Zero stars. Walgreen's repeatedly failed to timely fill an auto-fill prescription. 11 days ago, Walgreen's notified me my prescription would be filled in a few days. Since then, Walgreens has changed the fill date SIX times. Walgreen's sends an email every couple days informing me that my prescription is being filled and that it will be ready in a couple of days. Latest email today said I would need to wait four more days, unless Walgreen's delays once again. So, best case, two weeks since Walgreen's sent its first auto refill notice' unless Walgreen's delays again. This is a common medication. No one should be jerked around like this. No apologies from Walgreen's. No customer service. Not my first bad experience with Walgreen's pharmacy. I asked CVS just north on Harlem to take over the prescription. CVS filled the prescription in 30 minutes after I asked CVS to call Walgreen's and transfer the prescription. read more

Terrible experience. Called in prescription two times. Not done either time. Called the pharmacy two times. Phones don't work and get disconnected. Called main line asking for pharmacy and got an attitude with a comment don't know if they will answer. Finally got pharmacist to be told prescriptions are done in a different city at a fulfillment house. No explanation why not filled per phone entry system. No reason why a customer should have to call FIVE times in three days to get a prescription filled. read more

OPEN FOR BUSINESS......? Despite the erroneous listing of this Walgreens as 'closed', the lights are on and the shelves are stocked. I was here earlier today (although I can't prove it since check-ins aren't allowed for 'closed' businesses. SMH) It's absolutely, totally 100% not at all closed. Hey, Yelp HQ, how about you lazy goobers get off your asses and modify the business page like I asked a month ago? Anyways, some schmuck thought it wise to mark this Walgreens as 'permanently closed', and nothing I do can/will change it. I've already tried like 4 times to no avail. Whatever. Still gonna review this sucka. This standard drugstore and convenience mart sits on the corner of North Ave and Harlem, in the town of Elmwood Park. It's brightly lit and the employees move with little to no haste. They weren't the friendliest bunch, either. Access is tough from eastbound traffic and nearly impossible for northbound cars; the southbound entrance is one-way only. The parking lot is also pretty tiny, to boot. I'd recommend against doing your grocery shopping here since they'll gauge you on pricing. If you need a roll of paper towels or a quick gift card, this Walgreens will suit you just fine. I just spent 50 minutes on hold to talk to a pharmacist at this store. Then, I was cut off!

If I could give no stars this would be the place to do it. Prescription did not show ready after days on app. Went to store, drive through closed (due to lack of staff). Went home and called store and was on hold for 50 minutes. When somebody finally picked up, they said prescription was ready. Went back into the store the next day and after waiting in line 15 minutes was told there was a problem with the prescription. That is after I was told it was ready and no one called to say there was a problem. It got resolved but the level of poor service around medical related services is truly disappointing. It is obvious this place is poorly managed with indifferent staff. I will only come here because I HAVE to by my health insurer, otherwise I am never setting foot in here again!!! read more

I will be switching pharmacies from walgreens soon. I always dread going to this one. They've been reviewing my prescriptions for months now and if they do decide to fill a prescription they almost never give me the full amount. It's always partial or delayed. And only half of the techs are kind. The other half are rude and it makes me want to turn around and go home empty handed. It's the same experience as every Walgreens ever; I keep trying to use them but it's always a horrible experience. Support your private local pharmacies instead! :) read more

Ordered a prescription and never got it filled. My doctor called it in and I tried following up as I didn't get notification that it was ready. I called multiple time at different times of day to never get through and got hung up on every time. Finally I go inside and wait in way too long of a line to be told that they didn't have in stock. And if the drug came in, they wouldn't know it was for me. Wait, what? So it can get sold to someone else. How do I check? Call. But according to the clerk, the phones weren't working. I don't know but considering your business relies on phones working, you think they would after a week. The pharmacy is horrible. I will never use them again. This zero rating for pharmacy only. Horrible experience with a duplicitous and horrible human being. The Pharmacist, Ari. She refused to help me work my prescription drug card. She needed to call the card help desk. The card offers Pharmacist 24/7 assistance for issues when the pharmacist enters the information. Ari informed me she doesn't call cards. They need to call her. The card rep informed Ari and myself that Pharmacist call daily, this is why the help center exists. Ari refused. Now im without my meds. I've filed a formal complaint with Walgreens. This horrible woman needs to he disciplined and, more importantly, TRAINED in customer service read more

This is the WORST walgreebs I've ever been to. Calling the PHARMACY is a nightmare and they will have you on hold for 20 min every time you call. And it's not even like they say hello I'll be with you soon, it's "pharmacy please hold" and after 5 min of holding they answer and before you can say anything they're saying again "pharmacy please hold". Finally I go to pick up my prescription through the drive through and it's another 15 min (and I'm the only one in line). This location is ridiculous. My wife went through the drive thru, and apparently it is only for Covid testing. She was unable to drop her prescription paper off because, "the terminal is down." Firstly, this is an excuse we have frequently received for over three years now. Secondly, if the terminal is down, why can't the paper be taken and processed on a "working" terminal? Instead we have to go park, wait in another line, and drop the prescription off? Where is the logic? Instead, we drove 2.5 miles down North Avenue to another Walgreens (we would have gone to the Osco if their drive thru wasn't broken, but we have transferred our prescriptions to them) and this Walgreens took the prescription no problem. Why are these two Walgreens, in such close proximity, doing different things with the drive thru? The manager literally said, "it is an IT thing, and I am not in IT." 1. I don't care about the lie, and 2. for three years? I do not believe the manager. If this three + year issue is the truth, then Walgreens needs to do a better job coming up with a solution. The poor customer service, non-sensical stories, and flat out lies are why Wlagreens has seen their stock decline over the past three years. If it weren't for the pandemic, I wonder if they'd still be in business. As CVS and Albertsons (Osco) continue to see their stocks climb, I say good for them! You deserve it. Walgreens Boots Alliance also deserves what they are getting. Glad I sold off their stock years ago when it actually had decent value. read more

Staff is usually nice either day or night. I also go here for my scripts. I don't have to wait longer than 20-30 mins for them which is great as well. It's also convenient for anyone who has a weird schedule such as an overnight worker like me. As far as the pharmacy closes at 10, that's usually during the holidays or once when I saw them do inventory. Update: Pharmacy hours changed. Now they closes at midnight. I don't think it's unreasonable, however it's frustrating when a 24 hr. Store doesn't have a 24 hr. Pharmacy. Kinda defeats the purpose. Oh well read more

CHECK YOUR PRESCRIPTIONS FOR ACCURACY. So disappointed with the pharmacy. I had to fill a rx for Amoxicillin for my 4 year old. We went to the doctor Wednesday, he has a rapid strep test done that came back negative. I got a call Monday from his doctor saying that she sent the culture out for further testing and that he did, in fact, have strep. She ordered him Amoxicillin and I went to pick it up that day. When I got to the counter, the man working behind it, Marcin, did not look like he was from the pharmacy and I thought he may be from another department. He had on a knit sweater and jeans with loose scrubs on top of them pretty much falling off. He took a bit to find the rx, but finally did, and says he has to go "mix" the Amox. Meanwhile he forgot about a lady he was helping in the drive-thru, but I was rushing to get my daughter from school, honestly, so I just left it alone. He returns with the rx (it's in 2 bottles), and tells me to make sure I shake it really good because there was still a bit of powder on the bottom that was stuck and he couldn't get out. Mind you, I am small. He was a pretty big guy, I was happy when I saw him shaking the medicine because he was clearly stronger that I am. So I get the medicine and drive to my kids' school. I shook the medicine the WHOLE way trying to get out the powder. Banging it on my steering wheel, hitting the bottoms of the bottles together, everything. I could never get it. When I got home I used a long meat thermometer to loosen the powder and shake it and it looks ok. By the end of the night I had given my son 2 doses (as directed) from the first bottle -where the powder was fine. I used my own dosing cups since none were in the bag with the medicine. I started realizing that the medicine looked kind of thick. I then measured the remaining amount out and it was short. The medicine should have lasted 10 days, but it was short -each bottle by 20 mL. It would not have made it. He did not mix the proper amount of water into the medicine so it was over-concentrated. I was basically overdosing my son. LUCKILY it was AMOXICILLIN. Imagine it had been a pain medication, or steroid, or anything else. I call and they say bring it back it the morning to switch it out. No sorry, nothing. She did say that I definitely shouldn't have been told to mix the powder myself. So I go to the pharmacy and a SUPER SWEET girl is at the counter, Amber. She spoke to me with professionalism as I handed her the medicine and explained the situation. A lady (long brown hair, white coat) kindly told her to ask me exactly what happened and she did. She was listening as I explained the situation... Until a lady named Karen cut me off mid sentence and told her, not to worry about it and just to switch it out. She wouldn't let me continue speaking. I told her I was trying to explain what happened and she cut me off in the middle of talking AGAIN, as though I was trying to "trick them" into my son's two over-concentrated doses of Amox I had already given him or something. She was totally rude. I spoke very kindly and showed no disrespect to be treated that way. I asked Amber for dosing cups since I didn't get them the first time and she said they didn't have the cups, but she gave me a "scoopy spoon" one instead. Overall I was EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED with my service. When my medicine is made INCORRECTLY and ADMINISTERED TO MY CHILD. A sorry would be nice. Not cutting me off, would be nice, RESPECT would be nice. I got none of those things besides from Amber, who was clearly the youngest in the bunch. Amazing the lack of compassion and show of disrespect. Maybe they should consider hiring younger people who are not so unhappy with their jobs, and can give customer service ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY ARE WRONG. I have filled many prescriptions here and I will never come back. Be careful next time you get your rx from here, make sure you're taking the correct one, and correct amount. Who knows how many people have been mis-prescribed and have't noticed. You should never have to made sure they got your rx right. Do not trust this pharmacy. read more

This location has reopened and it might as well not have. The staff never seems to know anything when asked about store sales or the location of items. The pharmacy is always backed up. I called to ask if they sold an item, was told yes, only to arrive and be told that they don't sell the item. This is the worst Walgreens I've ever dealt with. read more

Not only did this location smell like the inside of a walrus esophagus, I noticed the pharmacy has long lines all the time and only a few technicians working every time I stop in. I do not pick up medications here and will not due to the fact that the wait in line is about the same time it would take to get my medication ready. The bathrooms here are dirty and judging by the crap on the walls, others are not too fond of this location. Rude customers and crappy clean up crew, not a good mix. Will not recommend. read more

This review is for the pharmacy. On at least 3 occasions, I have arrived 5-10 minutes before the pharmacy closes to find it already completely closed up. Not in the process of closing - already completely closed, with the plastic curtain thing pulled over the entrance and twice with the lights completely off. Today, I arrived 6 min before closing to pick up a prescription that was ready to go, and the curtain was closed, but the pharmacy techician was behind the counter, with all the lights on. She just sat there, staring at me. Their sign literally feet in front or their pharmacy listed the pharmacy hours, which stated they close at 6:00 pm today (Sunday). I looked at my phone, which said 5:54 pm. That's not right. They obviously closed up at least 8-10 min early, but the technician was waiting to clock out so it seemed like she was working until at least 6. Now I don't have the medication that I need to take tonight. If you say you close at a certain time, close at that time. If you want to close at 5:50 or whatever, then say you close at 5:50. And please fire your employees that are getting paid for not working and fudging their clock-out time. Some people can die without getting their medication. While this isn't the case for me, it's hazardous to people's health and can, in some cases can be life-or-death. It's also horrible customer service. read more

However, I spoke to a new pharmacy manager, and hopefully she was brought in my the company to clean up the disaster here. Pharmacy is awful. Slow, indifferent. I waited at the drive thru so long (no one else in line outside) and I ended up going into the store to the pharmacy. There were 6 people working the pharmacy. Also have been trying to get my prescriptions synced to the same day (something that they advertise) to no avail. I still have to go there multiple times a month to pick up prescriptions. Thinking of switching to another location or pharmacy altogether. read more

Not sure why this location is marked as closed - it is still open. In fact it is the only 24 hour pharmacy in my neighborhood. That being said, I avoid going there unless it is an emergency. The location is nice - busy intersection, but easy to get in to with plenty of parking. However, this place is gross. Unclean, sketchy clientel...they don't stock anything I would ever really need. People are friendly enough but borderline unprofessional and the whole place needs a major makeover. read more

I've had nothing but problems with this pharmacy. They have shared info to me about my other family members prescriptions who have the same last name. Bad. The automated calling is usually incorrect. Whenever I call to fix the problem they never know what I'm calling about. Today I waited 20 minutes in the drive thru because they couldn't find my prescription. This particular store is not your average modern type Walgreens. However, I find it to be unique in that it is very cultural with different types of people going in and out and in a friendly atmosphere. It is a busy corner and sometimes busier inside, but you can always find someone willing to help you out or assist you. I like the food section because of the location in store and find the bargains pop out at you quicker than searching in broader isles.
