This summer, I went back for Rx sunglasses, and I had another wonderful experience. The staff is patient and makes good suggestions. Since my lenses are blended, the first effort didn't fit my personal needs, and Mia couldn't have been nicer when I went in for an adjustment. The turnaround time for each pair was quicker than I expected. I now own two wonderful pairs of glasses from Oxie, and I hope to go back from one more. Since I'm writing this during the pandemic, I also have to applaud them on their safety measures. I was seated in front of that person while he fit me for lenses. Mind you, the ENTER ROOM was filled with the malodorous smell that was emitting from ONE person and that person was then raising his arms directly in front of my face, forcing his foulness explicitly into my olfactory glands. Without being dramatic, it was torturous. The next day, I was invited via text to fill out an online survey based on "my experience". I filled it out with my personal opinions. The day after that, I received a call from Vision Works. I was excited to answer thinking that my glasses were ready for pick up. NO. The caller reprimanded me about my survey responses. He said, snarkily, that they are aware of the situation and that the employee's body odor is due to a medical condition. The caller continues saying that he was sure that I could just imagine how difficult it must be for that person to live with that. I am sorry that person has that condition. I agree, it must be difficult to live with that condition. However, I was asked to fill out a survey about my experience and my opinions. That is how I felt about the situation. I find it incredibly offensive that VisionWorks called me to tell me that I'm wrong for saying the store smelled atrocious and that an employee had incredibly bad body odor. Firstly, I find it disturbing that Visionworks had the gall to share an employee's medical information with a complete stranger. Do they not understand what HIPPA is? Are they discussing MY medical information with other people?? Secondly, why would you ask for my thoughts if you are going to scold me for it? I legitimately thought I was helping; maybe they didn't know, maybe the other employees were afraid to mention it. Instead, I was chastised for giving honest feedback.

I went there yesterday hesitant about going back to a Walmart Vision Center, because I used to go…read moreto Rolling Meadows when I lived in Schaumburg, and they were not good at all. I was instantly welcomed by one of the ladies working in the front, and I believe her name was Lisa--if I remember correctly. So, let's call her Lisa, because that's probably her name. She took my right back and began the normal tests you do right away (Eye Puffer & the machine that focuses on the pupil). She's a hilarious woman right from the start and made me feel right at home. Dr. Toseef Hasan is also flat out awesome. The Rolling Meadow Doctors never offered me additional services like the X-Ray for the back of my eye, nor pupil dilation to check for hidden conditions/diseases/tumors. I had so many questions, and he had so many answers. He told me I had a condition called Corneal Neovascularization, and then continued to tell me all about how to reverse it, gave me a better brand of contacts to wear, and gave me very specific and effective directions to lessen my irritation in my eyes. He didn't have to be so detailed, but chose to be detailed. I think he's that passionate about his job and helping others. After a few months of not knowing if my eyes were just having a phase, or I really couldn't wear contacts anymore, he really helped. My eyes already feel 90% better in just one night. Even after the visit was over and it was time to pay, I was very surprised that even with additional fees from the X-Ray I had done, it was only $103.00 without using my insurance. All of that for a low cost made me feel very relieved. Then, Lisa just kept everyone giggling and having fun, which is not how most doctor appointments end. If you can't afford much, but want an amazing experience getting your eyes looked at, go to this Vision Center. Dr. Toseef definitely changed my opinion about a Walmart Vision Centers. Everything was just so simple, clean cut details, and a highly professional staff that actually have personalities.

A few days before the appointment, I was sent an email stating that they were sorry I cancelled. I never cancelled. I called and was told that they do not have the doctor in on Wednesdays, which is why I chose them in the first place (again, as per the DV website). I was able to reschedule the appointment for a couple days later. Problems arose the day of the appointment. There was tons of traffic, and so I was running a little bit late (my Waze said 11 minutes) for my appointment. I called just to let them know, and they told me that I would have to cancel if I was more than 10 minutes late. I couldn't continue driving and chance it. Like, I get that they have a policy, but things happen..Still, not a pleasant experience. No matter.. one quick Google search and call, and I'll be at another optometrist in a few days.
