My son broke his glasses at school. The frames were shattered but the lenses were still intact. We were just there for his annual visit and bought new frames, but they were not in yet. The office said I could come by and they can try to find frames to match his lenses. They did not give up until they found frames for him! My son can't really see well without his glasses and he would have had to miss school if he couldn't get new glasses right away. Today I had my first appointment at Valley Vision Center and my experience here was everything I was hoping it would be, absolutely amazing. Every person I encountered at Valley Vision Center was warm and welcoming. I went there with all my vision records from my amazing Dr. John C Lawyer, O.D (Nevada) to make the transition go smoothly. The staff at Valley Vision Center in Geneva, IL was very appreciative of my efforts. Each phase of my visit at Valley Vision Center was professionally conducted, and well orchestrated. The staff was knowledgeable, and did I mention very warm/friendly. I felt as if I had been seen at Valley Vision Center for years. Dr. Michele Montalbano was extremely personable, inviting, approachable, intelligent, and THOROUGH. I could instantly discern that Dr. Michele Montalbano respects her staff and lead by example. She takes her time with her patients and finds time to have a teachable moment with her team in a non-judgmental manner. Dr. Michele Montalbano answered all my questions and I didn't feel rushed, I actually felt like she was a longtime friend while doing her job. The young lady who helped me with my glasses purchase was very very patient in helping me get the best out of my insurance plan, she ran the numbers and checked them as many times as I needed her to. I felt great about the decision we made together. I could go on and on about the Valley Vision Center and how wonderful my experience was, but I will let those who read this decide for themselves. My son and I have now have both become new patients. His was an emergency and my visit was a regular annual exam. We both were extremely pleased. My exam was the best exam I have had in 45 years. Dr. Montalbano and her staff have been taking care of our family's eyes for over 10 years and we would follow her practice wherever they go! They were in Elburn but have rightfully so outgrown the small town office and now they're in a new, large, state of the art, beautifully designed space. I spent hours on Yelp looking for the right doctor. Wow did I find the right one! From the beginning, I called and spoke with Amy (lead optician). Omg, the best customer service I ever had. She listened to my questions & answered them thoroughly. Gave exceptional information then got me in within 1 hour. I get there and am greeted by Andrea (office administrator marketing director). I was nervous going in but Andrea made that go away quickly. She too is exceptional at what she does. A happy greeting, explaining everything in detail as to what I'm about to experience. While completing paperwork both ladies were so amazingly kind & professional. I then was greeted by Devin (tech). This gentleman is fantastic. He took me through various tests. He explains what he is about to do before proceeding in a very calming & professional manner making sure I was comfortable at all times. Then I meet Dr. Montalbano. The warmest greeting as if I was family. She said let's begin from scratch & proceeded to do the most comprehensive exam I never knew existed. She explains all her findings in such detail & made sure I understood everything & that I was comfortable with everything. In closing, I did the several hours of research for you, Trust Me! The eye doctor here is very knowledgeable, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I was very happy with my glasses. The only thing that keeps me from giving this 5 stars is the cost. Prepare to spend more than you anticipated. They don't ask you which coatings you prefer on your lenses, they just put them all on, which brings up the cost of your glasses exponentially. Go in with knowledge and KNOW what to ask for and which coatings and type of lenses you prefer. When I go back next year, I will definitely ask before my visit is over. read more

I just recently brought my daughter in for an eye exam at which point we discovered that she needed glasses. Our experience with the doctor was delightful. She was kind and took her time with my daughter. Upon exiting the exam room we proceeded to head over to the children's glasses to explore options. At this point I realized there was not enough options to truly decide what my daughter wanted and/or what would best suit her. I asked for the prescription and that was when the tone in the room shifted. Andrea, behind the front desk, became extremely condescending and frankly rude. As previously stated I am completely new to the glasses world and as a parent I felt judged because we were not walking out with a pair of glasses from THEIR establishment. After researching we ended up ordering 3 pairs of glasses on-line from a very reputable company. However, my daughter's PD was never measured at her first visit. I called the office asking if I could bring her in to get an accurate read (I did it myself at home and got the same number as the office but wanted to double check). Andrea informed me that I could come in but there would be an additional charge of $25 since "I wasn't buying glasses from them". I should also mention that at our first appointment they did a test on my daughter that wasn't covered by insurance, at a cost of $39, that is not required until the age of 10, however the office failed to mention that and the additional up charge until we went to pay. At our visit today Andrea proceeded to point out the things my daughter WOULDN'T be getting, regarding her glasses, since we weren't ordering form their office. I am a creature of habit and I am a loyal customer but I will never take my kids back to this office. I live in a neighborhood full of children with parents always asking for recommendations- I will never recommend this office. The people you encounter when you walk into a physicians office set the tone for your experience. The tone I encountered was disrespectful and sour. read more

Awesome eye clinic. The staff there is the friendliest and most knowledgeable staff around. Greeted with a smile and great customer service. The eye doctor Michele is very knowledgeable and friendly. You can tell that she is truly passionate about her job and taking care of her patients. I've been to a few other eye doctors and she is by far the best. She was the only one who told me about my eye condition in a detailed way. Everyone else just said it looks good. I would highly recommend going to their office. I was referred to Dr.Montalbano when my previous optometrist stopped taking my insurance. I have to admit that I was not very happy that I was going to have to change eye doctors. To me, it is stressful to consider placing myself in "new hands", when it comes to health care. As it turn has out, there was no need to worry! Dr. Montalbano and her staff are wonderful. They greeted me cheerfully and professionally. They were very thorough in explaining the processes required to get me in their system. (Which was quite simple). The exam was easy and smooth and they were very attentive to me, explaining everything along the way. Dr. Montalbano and her team care about what they do. They treated me like I was their only patient. Too often these days, doctors are rushed to get patients in and out. As a result, quality of treatment suffers. This is not the case here. They really went out of their way to assist me in every way they could. I am very happy to have found Valley Vision Clinic and definitely would recommend them to anyone! read more
