The office said I could come by and they can try to find frames to match his lenses. They did not give up until they found frames for him! My son can't really see well without his glasses and he would have had to miss school if he couldn't get new glasses right away. They made sure that he could get new frames and went above and beyond for us. Their kindness and care for patients goes a long way.

Today I had my first appointment at Valley Vision Center and my experience here was everything I…read morewas hoping it would be, absolutely amazing. Every person I encountered at Valley Vision Center was warm and welcoming. I went there with all my vision records from my amazing Dr. John C Lawyer, O.D (Nevada) to make the transition go smoothly. The staff at Valley Vision Center in Geneva, IL was very appreciative of my efforts. Each phase of my visit at Valley Vision Center was professionally conducted, and well orchestrated. The staff was knowledgeable, and did I mention very warm/friendly. I felt as if I had been seen at Valley Vision Center for years. Dr. Michele Montalbano was extremely personable, inviting, approachable, intelligent, and THOROUGH. I could instantly discern that Dr. Michele Montalbano respects her staff and lead by example. She takes her time with her patients and finds time to have a teachable moment with her team in a non-judgmental manner. Dr. Michele Montalbano answered all my questions and I didn't feel rushed, I actually felt like she was a longtime friend while doing her job. The young lady who helped me with my glasses purchase was very very patient in helping me get the best out of my insurance plan, she ran the numbers and checked them as many times as I needed her to. I felt great about the decision we made together. I could go on and on about the Valley Vision Center and how wonderful my experience was, but I will let those who read this decide for themselves. Call Valley Vision Center and schedule an appointment and see for yourself, you will not regret it. Thank you Dr. Michele Montalbano and Staff, I look forward to my next appointment.

I commend them for being so kind, apologetic, and telling me "changes have been made." From what I was told, Dr. King was none too happy when he was personally informed that a long-time client was basically turned away at the door on the date of their appointment - willing to pay cash. My advice to anybody reading my first review below and who may fit this category - call them again and see if your insurance is now accepted or another arrangement can be made, as they told me "changes have been made since the new year". Also, I now believe you MAY be able to pay out of pocket if you choose. Just call to double check with them. Please see my review now for my latest appointment: August 4th appointment (updated review): VERY pleased with the appointment, punctuality in which I was taken (I was barely in the waiting room 5 minutes before being called), the technician who helped me (I believe her name was Amber - friendly, professional, very thorough, cute, cute glasses), and Dr. King who again was very thorough and very nice. Turns out my eye irritation was possibly allergy related (either on it's own, or POSSIBLY indirectly related to a possible condition I may have such as fibromyalgia or something auto-immune, and I was prescribed special eye drops for the next few months. I say "possible" because that diagnosis hasn't YET been made by my other doctors as far as conclusively. But, I at least have more information on how to comfort the eye discomfort I have been having for 6+ months thanks to my visit with Dr. King. I was very pleased with my visit and all the staff (I have been coming here pretty regularly since I have been a teenager) and will continue to come here for my eye-related needs. Again as stated above, if you had previous problems (the past year) with insurance providers or payment issues, please at least give them a second call to see if things may have changed or other arrangements can possibly be made.

The front desk did not tell me this when I checked in. The back office blames me for not telling them that I had VSP insurance when I made the appointment. Be warned.

I originally became a patient of Dr Becker when he and this group of ophthalmologists were in the basement of Delnor Medical Office Building. Over the years Dr Becker has cared for my eyes and tracks all the family chronic illnesses as well as diabetes and its effects on the eye. I have always found Dr Becker to be on top of anything eye related. He removed a cyst from my eyelid. I will now have cataract surgery to be performed by another ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery. I would recommend Dr Becker and his colleagues when you need an ophthalmologist. The support part of the staff are excellent to work with whether it be the techs or the staff out front that checks you in and out. The building they are presently located used to be the headquarters for the Kane County Chronicle. The doctors did a great job repurposing the first floor of the building for eye care. You will find other types of medical offices in other parts of the building.

Here's the short version: If you care for your own well being or especially the health of a loved…read moreone and are lucky to live within reasonable distance to Geneva Family Practice, you will find no more capable hands. Dr. Rivers is as fine as physicians come. He works in perfect synergy with his own outstanding staff. I have unfair and obscenely high standards for medical professionals. I will only endorse those I hold in great esteem. The longer story of how I came to find such admiration and respect for this family practice can be read in detail below. My father had a brush with death so close that the ICU attending told him "sir, if 0 is the least serious case we see in this unit which handles the most severe cases, and 10 is the worst, you are an 11." That's an exact quote. Here are the details of his pre hospital visit thru discharge. Dr Rivers office and staff played a crucial role in his being alive. For that they have earned my eternal gratitude The infection likely entered his bloodstream around the time of his office visit yet hadn't proliferated systemically sufficient for detection by medical professionals via his symptoms and vitals. Sepsis is pernicious, elusive, cunning and dreadfully fatal. It must be said that Geneva URGED him to go to the ER out of an abundance of caution yet he outright refused (especially considering the national IV bag shortage). His symptoms initially emerged Saturday 11/09/24 in the evening, he had an at home IV administered Sunday, went for the first available appointment Monday 11/11/24 and Tuesday at 5:30 AM I called the ambulance as I happened to see him go into septic shock (I stayed in his room out of caution concerned by worsening symptoms following the first antibiotic dose). Dean, from Dr. Rivers office, stayed available through the weekend (when the clinic was CLOSED and he was OFF THE CLOCK) while my father was in the ICU with septic shock to hassle the lab to forward the sensitivities of the culture that was taken while he was at their office the day before his hospitalization. NOTE: The PA gave him the PRECISE antibiotic MOST sensitive to the strain of bacteria he was infected with based on the urinalysis culture. It's likely the sepsis would have killed him that evening without that first dose of Cipro. The PA (I'm so sorry I forgot your name) that saw him gave him the exact dosage recommended by his attending hospital physician on his discharge. Basically, complete the course Geneva set. I'm seldom impressed by physicians. There are so many cases of both experienced and inexperienced doctors who are stubborn in their ways and who do not keep current with the latest publications on novel approaches to familiar or unfamiliar maladies. Dr Robert Rivers mind is sharp and his faculties keen. I imagine he's seen so much over his lifetime as a board certified general practitioner and surgeon. Dr. Robert Rivers wears a humble guise for a man possessing such adept powers of observation. He is comprehensive in his examination which is a largely abandoned practice in our modern era. Another of his gifts is the breadth of his knowledge combined with an open and agile mind. He listened intently while I blabbered on about my father's unique history. He listened to a suggestion I offered based on a case study that pertained to a new condition my father has following his hospital discharge. Dr Rivers was familiar with the underlying condition and knew of a similar case that went untreated and resulted in a fatality. He gently probed my father for more information then patiently went over his medical history landing on each area of crucial concern with an effortlessness that can arise only from experience. He then ordered the necessary diagnostic testing that would ensure insurance covered the therapeutic approach we discussed exploring. After blood work was collected he administered a first dose to commence this course of action. His staff is simply amazing, Lindsey at the front desk, Dean, the PA (who helped save his life)...I thank you all!
