Not only does he always get my prescription right the first time but what he charges is significantly less than any of the big chains. For example, 8 months ago I went in for an eye exam and purchased a new pair of designer glasses from him. I don't have any type of vision insurance anymore because my employer discontinued that from our health plan, so it's all out of pocket. When it was all said and done, he charged me less than 1/2 of what I paid at LensCafters the last time I purchased glasses, when I DID have vision care on my insurance! Then 8 months goes by and my dog chewed up my glasses. I went in to order a new pair (expecting to pay full price) and he set me up with a new pair of glasses and gave them to me at HIS cost! I guarantee that none of the other big chains would do that for a customer. He's a great optometrist and a very reputable businessman. He's been at this a long time and I can tell you that he is a really nice person and will go out of his way to ensure that you are a satisfied customer. I'd absolutely recommend him.

My 9 year old was complaining about headaches so I took him to my eye dr (shout out to Dr. Daisy at…read morePerspective Eyes in Winnetka). After evaluating my son Dr. Daisy confirmed that his vision was fine, but she was worried that the headaches were being caused by weak eye muscles and thought he could possibly benefit from vision therapy. She gave us some exercises to try at home, but recommended we also look into vision therapy. I did a little research on where people go for vision therapy (who knew there was such a thing?) and made an appointment here for an evaluation at Vision Rehabilitation. We saw Dr. Sorensen in April for a longish (1.5 hours?) appointment which my son didn't seem to mind. At the end she did confirm he would benefit from 16 weeks of vision therapy to strengthen his eye muscles and would also help him from losing his place when reading etc. I asked for a report that I could read thru and possibly use for school accommodations. She promised to get it to me within 2 weeks. 2 months later I realized I never got the report so I followed up and recently received it, which was helpful to pass along to my son's teacher. The thought of adding another weekly appt to my busy kids schedule right now didn't seem appealing so I figured I"d call back in the spring to get this going in the summer. At my son's recent physical our pediatrician recommended we get a second opinion from Lurie before starting the therapy so we just booked with the Dr. he recommended for this coming April (the soonest we could get in). And from there we'll decide on next steps for vision thearpy. If you don't want to go to Lurie overall we had a good experience with this office and Dr. Sorenson seemed to pretty knowledgeable.

The doctor is great. I am not worried getting my prescription wrong…read more But you order glasses, pick them up with NO case. We were told the person handing out the glasses didn't know which case these went with. If not sure, they should provide any generic case that would hold the glasses in. They shouldn't make others make another trip just for the case. Or they should advise no one is available to hand out a new pair of glasses. So, I am disappointed. I love to go there for an eye exam, but not buying a pair of glasses. When calling back, I was told my insurance didn't cover the case. The total price of the glasses was a bit over $500. A portion of it was paid by insurance, the rest by me. Anyone selling glasses at that price should have a case to go with it, even a generic one. Imagine a kid getting his first pair of glasses and not be given a case with it, but have it wrapped in a foil. The manager was contacted. They apologized. She is shipping the case to us. It makes one wonder how much does one need to spend on a pair of glasses to have the case go with it.
