Fried Alligator! Yummy. Even my 16 yo liked it and she don't like anything!
    Adele W.

My guy and I have been here many many times. Never had anything we didn't like. The fried mushrooms, seafood platter, gumbo, and the last two times we got the crab legs! Oh my! Also the calamari and oysters! So good! Alligator as an appetizer on point! It saddens me that they are not busier. We have to support our local folks. It really is good! Yes the local is weird, but it is Bertram, TX. Help keep this business in town.

We (myself and 2 kids 6 & 8) came for dinner service on 11/22 at 6:15pm. We sat in the patio area, a nice venue with live music. We started off with chips and queso, and the some of the chips were stale and over seasoned and the queso was lukewarm at best. We ate 1/3 of it. We ordered our meals, both kids having the Mac and Cheese with Chicken tenders, and I ordered a ribeye medium rare, but before my server walked away, changed it to rare because I was fearful it would be overcooked. My steak came with a loaded baked potato (undercooked and pretty hard to eat) as well as a house salad that showed up when my steak arrived. I don't know about you, but I prefer not to eat my salad while my steak gets cold. It should have come prior to my entree. When my steak arrived, it was cooked med-medium well. I sent it back. While waiting for my 2nd steak to come out, my daughter complained that her Mac and Cheese was spicy. I tasted it and it was. It was on the kids menu, so that was confusing. The chicken tenders were so over cooked, my kids didn't even eat them. I didn't even mention it to our server at this point, because she was super sweet and accommodating, and I felt bad for her. We just wanted to pay the check and get the hell out of there. Our tab came to $83 dollars and I left her a $40 tip because I felt sorry that she had to defend such a total miss by the kitchen. Super disappointing experience. Do better, back of house. You owe it to the people that sign your paycheck and the front of house team that has to defend your food.

Nestled in a rather striking building, what awaited us was a wonderfully moody interior with large booths. Lots of tasteful touches and theming with a retro flair. We started with the bread (which was huge) and came with butter and roasted garlic bulbs. Also ordered the Caesar salad which was garlicky and improved with the grilled lemons and the calamari- Which tasted awesome with the aioli. Presentation was immaculate and the servers and restaurant managers were on point! They offered pleasant chat and stories. For entrees we got ribeyes (16oz!) Which was offered cut, Peter Luger style and split it. We ordered a ton of sides, and they were excellent. My favorites were the amazing truffle fries (generously thick cut, crispy) and the beets & cream (sweet and acidic) which complimented the steaks really well. The Brussels sprouts were excellent as well, not too sweet and roasted perfect. For the birthday the managers brought us complimentary desserts and a signed card which was a nice touch. Its not a cheap steakhouse by any means, but on average with any other steakhouse in this day and age. I do like that they do some things differently though and offered their own personal touches though, it stood out. Will definitely be back. We loved our time there, would highly recommend.

I had the chicken and waffles - nicely crisp chicken breast with very tasty waffles. My husband and granddaughter-in-law had the steak and eggs - with really good potatoes and onions; both were SO impressed with the flavor and the preparation. (I will be having this next time!). My grandson had 'Hong Kong' French toast, which I believe was made with Japanese milk bread and had berries and a custard. Also came with eggs and bacon. He could not speak highly enough about it. The portions are LARGE. We all took food home. I shared my plate with my great granddaughter (2 yrs) and still took food home!
