I had a good experience at Seafood Ranch Grill (Chino Hills). I ordered the Breakfast One Item Meal - Longanisa ($11.99) and Palabok (16oz - $14.99). Many customers were lined up, eager to order filipino food. (Important: Credit Cards have an added surcharge fee of 3%. Bring Cash. Debit Card can also bypass the surcharge, but there's a $20 minimum for Debit Card. Also, prepare to order for TO-GO. If you choose "full service dine in," they automatically charge 18% gratuity.) I arrived at Seafood Ranch Grill (Chino Hills) on Saturday (around 9:45AM). Parking is easy. There's a wide private parking lot. Seafood Ranch Grill (Chino Hills) includes an area to purchase prepackaged snacks (like a convenience store) and a counter (with sizzling food on hot trays). The ordering process is fast since customers just point at precooked items - similar to Panda Express. Staff is cordial and friendly. An elderly staff member would place the selected food in a container. Cashier (receipt says Maricar) is also hardworking and professional. Staff speaks Tagalog and English. Despite the long line of customers, the process flowed quickly. The food is fairly good. The Breakfast One Item Meal - Longanisa ($11.99) comes with Garlic Fried Rice and Fried Egg. The three big Longanisa (aka: Sausage) came very plump, juicy, and wet. The Fried Egg tasted clean & fresh. Unfortunately, I hated the Garlic Fried Rice. It tasted dry, coarse, and chewy. That rice was left out for too long. Concerning the Palabok (16oz - $14.99), this dish came flavorful but very cold. Regardless, I enjoyed its wet and zesty sauce. I liked how its noodles felt soft and moist. And I enjoyed the powdered Chicharon (aka: crushed deep fried pork) which added a comforting, crisp texture. The shrimps had a nice chew, but they tasted somewhat rubbery. Concerning ambiance, Seafood Ranch Grill (Chino Hills) is surprisingly enchanting. I appreciated the dining area's floral decorations & glittering lights. The location is also relatively clean. Some tables had small bits of crumbs, but the floors were very well-swept. There's even an outside sink for cleanliness near the dining room. Unfortunately, the restroom is out-of-order. Still, I appreciated how the interior felt airy and well-ventilated. We were looking for a filipino food caterer in the Chino Hills area for a large funeral service at St Paul Catholic Church. I contacted the restaurant and their kind staff let me know they were both a restaurant and caterer and often catered events at St Paul. They sent me a menu and 2 weeks before our event we ordered several dishes to sample their food. Let me just say- it was amazing and the tastes are exactly what I remember my mom, dad and aunties cooking, if not better (just don't tell my family please). Fast forward and we ordered the following for our event: Pancit Miki Bihon, Chicken adobo, Pork Cebuchan, Beef Mechado, Chicken lumpia and Pork lumpia. The food was professionally prepared, wrapped and delivered on time to the church. Our guests- Filipino and Non Asian, raved about the food and thought it was all delicious. Came here after an appointment nearby and it was around 11 am and the food for the lunch bunch looked fresh, hot and appetizing! It's turo-turo style (where you point to what you want like Panda Express) I ended up getting the topsilog and a 2 item combo plate with bistek, panict & white rice to share with my hubby. It was so good, we basically ate everything and thoroughly enjoyed every bite! Inside there's tables and chairs to enjoy your food and snacks to purchase for kids and adults. The sisig is a must!! It was so crispy and was seasoned perfectly. My boyfriend had their palabok and signigang (which had the perfect amount of sourness) and he thought it was delicious. I'm always gonna come in when I'm in the area. It really gave me reminded me of my moms home cooked Filipino food. Also, the owner is so friendly and welcoming. Food is good but recently bought 2 palabok that was spoiled and noticed the owner was not wearing a mask when serving food and kept talking to customers while spitting on the food. Now called Mimmie's Kamayan. I stopped by for lunch and chose the fried fish (bangus) and pancit (extra $3.50). You can ask for vinegar for dipping the fish. Fresh and flavorful, delicious. Staff was friendly and the place is clean, with pop music playing medium loud inside. Lots of indoor seating which can accommodate up to 8 people comfortably in two of the booth tables. My sister in law ordered a catering package for my mother in law's birthday party. She had my husband pick up the food on the day of the party and I tagged along. One side of the restaurant is a dining area with a couple TVs, and the other side consists of Filipino snacks such as chips and crackers, as well as some dry goods/groceries. The main counter/register area displays the different dishes that ate served for the day. The order was ready at the agreed pick up tome. Employees are friendly, and helped us load our food into my husband's car. He paid $641 (with tax) for a catering package that serves up to 50 people and consisted of: 100 pieces of lumpia (bite sized!), a full pan of palabok, and half pans of: sisig, adobo, fried fish, pinakbet, steamed rice and bistek; and a large sapin-sapin for dessert. Cost seemed pricy to me, but the food was good, and the guests raved about the palabok. The dessert disappeared shortly after I served it, so I'm guessing it was bomb too! read more

The bigger Filipino food selections and products are all in the West Covina area but Seafood Ranch is a hidden gem located in Chino Hills. The location had a large remodel last year and now they have the ability to host events as well along with eating inside at clean tables if desired. The food choices are usually good (I love the palabok and pancit)! As for prices, that's the only thing keeping me from a five star but I still feel it's overall a good value. read more

Guys, please don't sell boiled peanuts with muggots or worms. Please! I bought 2lb on January 16. I also bought a lot of cooked food. Who knows what other worms insects are in your cooked food. I usually get filipino food in West Covina near Amar rd but it's nice to have a place closer to me. I do like their bbq pork, sinigang, tocino, loganisa, sisig, palabok, and dinaguan (pork blood stew), lumpia shanghai. Their sisig is ok, alot of raw onions than my usual place. Their lumpia shanghai eggrolls are good, I got a 100 piece this new year for my family and we liked it, the sauce was ok. Seafood Ranch Grill offers a both ethnic (Filipino) groceries and take-out. The take-out, a no-frills, combo bento with options spread out across heated food contains, makes for a perfect work lunch spot for those in need of quick meals between meetings. While Covid has put paid to rushed between-meeting lunches, Seafood Ranch Grill still offers its take-out. Extra masks are available should one be absent-minded enough to forget them. For this lunch I ordered a 3-item combo, priced at $12.59. Along with 2 scoops of rice, I got so-called "Chocolate Meat" (made w/pork blood), longanisa sausage, and taro leaves in coconut milk. The "chocolate meat" ended up tasting like earthier pork. Notably, Seafood Ranch added some vinegar to this, ostensibly to cut the richness. The longanisa sausage tasted like a sweet sausage; the accompanying sauce made it sweeter still. The taro leaves in coconut milk reminded me of the spinach in saag paneer, albeit sweeter and less savory. Ths establishment provided me an opportunity to try Filipino cuisine w/o any of the pretensions of ethnic restaurants in gentrifying locations. This meal seem the opposite of what I normally consume, since my personal food preferences tend toward savory w/o other contrasting flavors (e.g. sweet-sour pork). Nonetheless, the price point and variety of dishes seems decent, I and appreciate being able to try Filipino food to broaden my perspective. read more

I specifically came here to try their breakfast. My usual is tocino and longanisa with garlic fried rice and fried egg. They were out of garlic fried rice the first day we went so we decided to return the following day. Meat was good, but the garlic fried rice was just ok. I suppose I am used to more garlic in it. My husband wanted to try the Filipino spaghetti. It was good, however inconsistent. We tried it for two consecutive days. First time was dry, hardly any sauce and had only hot dog pieces, then the next day, it was extremely saucy and also had ground meat as well. Both good in their own ways but now I'm unsure how it typically is. Lumpia was not good at all. The meat inside also appeared to be raw. read more

I grew up in the Philippines and I still eat a lot of authentic Filipino food so if I say that this place is legit then this place is very legit. They make the best Filipino spaghetti so far! After returning home, we noticed the extra side of corn beef wasn't there. Hubby called and spoke to the lady who then began speaking to her co-worker and they both clarified that it was their fault!!! She expected us to drive all the way back for just over $5. RIDICULOUS!!! We made several suggestions such as simply returning the money via Zelle, cash app or ANY app. She took our phone number and said the manager would call and straighten this out. Here we are over 24 hours later and nothing. I never wanted to leave a negative review for this restaurant because we have been loyal customers for many years! Their breakfast combo is pretty good here. Their garlic fried rice, tocino, and longanisa was decent and is a great combo meal to pick up if you need a quick breakfast. However, I am used to eating sweet longanisa, but this one was on a bit of a salty side. Their Buko Pandan was also great and has the right amount of sweetness. Staff was friendly and attentive. I do think that prices need to be updated and posted on their website. The outdated pictures on Yelp show that the two breakfast combo was $10.99, but I paid for $12.99 for mine. I did expect to pay more with the recent price increase, but I did not see the prices posted in store as well.
