Mariscos Jalisco does it all perfectly. Hot, crunchy crispy tacos de camaron, tart ceviche, sweet-spicy aguachile. Mariscos here are a 1-2 punch, knockout. *Quick and helpful service, and a dining area that feels like eating in the comfort of someone's home. *Beware of the deep dip when entering the lot! Free parking available behind the spot and street. *Habeñero salsa is recommended, but available for $3.50 a bottle. Here's what we ordered: Tacos de camaron ($2.50): Hot, crispy, crunchy, perfect. Topped with a tomato, curtido-like salsa that's a perfect pairing to the taco. Taco de Triton ($6.75): Seafood-lovers only. Taco de camaron (topped w/ octopus, shrimp, cucumber, and aguachile) Tostada de camaron ($5.50): Perfectly crunchy tostada topped with sweet shrimp in a perfectly balanced mixture of tomato, cilantro, onion, salt, and lime. Habeñero salsa ($3.50): Spicy and fruity flavor of habeñero pairs well with everything.
+ Absolutely scrump-diddily-umptious. I enjoyed the bursting flavors and textures of the triton tacos and the fish ceviche. Truly worth the Michelin 'bib gourmand' (good quality, good value cooking) recognition. + Polite, helpful staff. - Only one cramped restroom here. Quite dingy. - Limited parking lot. Beware when you exit/enter the parking lot around the back. The dip may cause your front bumper to scrape against the ground. }8o - It's sad to see an ICE-warning poster on the front door. Community's fallen on hard times, eh? Gripe: it was a very hot day; wish the parking lot had shade. Fun fact: "Mariscos jalisco" translates to "Jalisco seafood". Yum! There's not too much parking on the lot but you can always park on the street which I recommend because there's only one way to go in and another to go out and as slow as I was driving it scratched the bottom of my car. When you go in you first order your food. The inside doesn't have too many tables luckily when we came there was one table available. I ordered a tostada de ceviche de camarón and 2 fried shrimp tacos and I have to say the food was just ok. I don't think I will go back anytime soon.
Love the food here! We got the tostada de camarón and a few tacos de camarón. Camarón on the tostada was nice and cold (just like I love it) and it was full of flavors with a touch of heat. Excellent. The tacos de camarón are some of my favorite ones that I've had as they are filled both inside and outside with chopped up shrimp. This place makes great food and is worth the drive too.
Came here because they were Michelin and they did not disappoint! They're known for their shrimp tacos and I can see why! They're immaculate. They have so much value for what they're priced at. I really hope they don't increase their prices more. Service is great as well! There's daughter of the owner is so helpful! Their staff made the experience that much better. I would have to say that the area is not in the best place. Parking is very limited though I never had any trouble finding a spot there. It definitely feels like a hole in the wall. Not the cleanest but I mean food at places like these are always the best so it's okay. I will definitely come back more!
I just don't understand Michelin recognized restaurants. I don't see how this place could get any type of recognition like that. It's a complete dump. They have a bathroom that the door doesn't open all the way, the faucet that they used spills water out of the sink and it's just dumpy. But if the food is good, right, then everything is OK. Well I ordered a fish and shrimp taco but they don't have fish tacos. Marsico's Jalisco does NOT sell fish tacos. That's fine, I'll take two shrimp tacos. When I get them, they are hard shell tacos with a mixture of ingredients that has some shrimp but it certainly is not the main flavor you taste. And it's not a great taste. Maybe if you order a $14+ tostada or ceviche it may be better but I am not going to try that. Over hyped.
Excellent food! Had the Poseidon tostada & 2 shrimp tacos. Shrimp tacos are crunchy shell with shrimp inside & salsa outside, very good. Poseidon tostada has a layer of spicy aguachile mixto on top of a layer of shrimp ceviche so it's huge! And very tasty. It's a small dive place with seating for maybe 20 in a not great part of Pomona so keep your wits about you.
This place is great! I wanted mariscos and thanks to yelp I found this spot. I ordered the shrimp ceviche mixta ceviche and fish ceviche. They came with tostadas, avocado, limes too and very fresh. They have several hot sauces to choose from as well. It's a small place but there is plenty of seating. Restaurant is very clean and welcoming. Family operated and they provided great customer service. Very friendly and even brought our order to our table. Definitely coming back soon!

This has been my second visit here and I continue to be amazed. I have had dreams where I'm eating their food (which I wish was an exaggeration). The outside of the establishment may not be entirely appealing, but what awaits within is sure to warm your heart. Eating their food feels like an ode from the heart. It is reminiscent of pulling off to the side of the road to a Mariscos food truck in Tijuana. The food is comforting and reminds you of how Hispanic culture brings people together through food and music. All the staff here is very kind and have a lively spirit. As you are enjoying your food it is warming to hear them laughing, enjoying each other's company, and Bad Bunny music of course. I had the Tostada Mixta pictured below and believe it or not I had already dug in and eaten a whole tostada by the time I remembered to snap a pic. The portions are very generous and for the price, can't be beat! The Tacos de Camaron are flavor packed with every bite. These are freshly cooked to order and you can tell by the temperature, be careful. I can't describe them to anything else I have had in the past as they are so unique in the best way. Not pictured is the aguachiles. As spicy as they are, I couldn't find myself putting them down. The flavor keeps you hooked wanting more and more. I am excited to try out a Coctel next and am positive I will have nothing but praise. Definitely worth a try if you are ever out in the area or just passing by. The bang for your buck and the flavor held in each morsel which be nothing short of satisfactory. read more

Had this place bookmarked for a while and finally got around to trying it--definitely worth the wait. From the moment we walked in, the staff was super welcoming and took the time to walk us through the menu and their specialties, which made ordering a lot easier. The shrimp tacos were a pleasant surprise--not your typical style. They're fried and topped with a flavorful sauce that really sets them apart. Solid choice if you want something a little different. The real star of the show was the Poseidon botana aguachiles. We were originally deciding between the Poseidon and the mixta, but they mentioned they could make the botana a Poseidon style, and that's what we went with. Absolutely delicious--super fresh and packed with flavor. Highly recommend this dish. We also tried the tostada de pescado (size small), which was probably my least favorite. It wasn't bad, just didn't stand out compared to everything else. I'd personally skip it next time. One thing to note--there's a small parking lot that was more full than expected given how many people were inside. It seems like it might be shared with nearby businesses, so just keep that in mind. Overall, great experience, great food, and I'd definitely come back to try more from the menu. read more

We come here for the aguachiles tray!!! If you love spicy you must try them, it's the best ones we've ever tried! They give you tostadas, limes, salsas and avocados. Their shrimp tacos are delicious as well. Must try it!! I highly recommend this to anyone who loves a good kick in their shrimp!!! read more

Holy cow...AMAZING SEAFOOD !!! I got the shrimp taco they're known for and a shrimp tostada. The texture in the shrimp taco was so good. The tostada is finely chopped to perfection. That got Tapatio which is a win in my book. Service is amazing and very welcoming. Ambiance is the best part, very Latino ! Definitely a 10/10 read more

Recently tried this amazing mariscos spot that was beyond words describable but let me try. This spot has been on my list of must try's but it's farther away from me then what I would like. Still decided to make the drive out and it didn't disappoint one bit. For my order I got two tacos de camaron y una tostada mixta. The location is very small and parking is limited, they do have a parking lot but if it's full you could always park on the street. Luckily was able to order and sit inside to enjoy my meal. The person taking my order was super genuine and helpful. The service was pretty quick for them being busy at the time being which was impressive. Once I sat down and started to eat I was amazing, shocked, and totally wowed.. This mariscos spot is one to try and check out for yourself. The location was very small so being able to eat it there won't always be an option but you could always eat it in the car or by your trunk. This is a hole in the wall I would've never found if it was for yelp finding our paths. I will be returning very soon to have more tacos and have a tostada. Forgot to mention the prices were also very reasonable and great. Must try place!! read more
Was really disappointed when I found uncleaned shrimp in my tacos the other day :(. They don't clear the shrimps poop vein , I looked inside the tacos and they both had them in the shrimps. Disappointing for a place that has this much hype . Also for a place servicing raw fish they should be more cleanly . Lost my appetite read more

Came to check out this place after my friend suggested it from a video she had seen on social media. I ordered shrimp tacos and tried the aguachile in a to-go order. The tacos came out fast! The shrimp tacos were so delicious, flavorful, and were soooo crispy. It was the perfect amount of crunch. The aguachile was amazing too! Spicy for me but it was so goood! It was easy to order, the service was great. There is seating inside and there are a decent amount of parking spaces in the lot, so unless they're busy, parking shouldn't be an issue. read more

This place is a hidden gem located in Pomona. It has numerous of Michelin guide recommendations year after year. Once you visit and taste their food, you can see why. This review is primarily on their fried shrimp tacos. I haven't had any better than the ones they make here. Before worn though, they do come out hot as lava. A nice little hack you can do is to tell them you want them to go and they will separate the salsa from the tacos. This will give you time to allow the tacos to then pour the salsa on top of the tacos without them getting soggy. I did also try their Shrimp ceviche. It was solid, but I personally won't be getting it again. My family makes some great ceviche and I always compare my family ceviche to anything that I try and I'm always disappointed. Not saying that ceviche is no good, it's just that my family makes it better so it's not a fair comparison is why I'm not making this about the ceviche and more so about the shrimp tacos If you ever find yourself in Pomona, make sure to come try some of the shrimp tacos out. The service is always friendly and fast, and you leave with a full happy stomach. read more

But what really surprised me was their Poseidon Tostadas, with avocados, octopus, shrimp and onions. It was spicy and tangy and was super refreshing. Probably too much for one person though. Service was basic but they were really friendly and helpful when we didn't know what to order. The eating area was also basic but no fuss, clean and utilitarian. It's ok though because the food is great! If you don't like seafood, you definitely won't want to come here. Otherwise, definitely worth a visit. read more

So over hyped. With the bib gourmand and the too good to be true reviews, it was a bar that was unlikely to be met and it wasn't. For tacos, there is only one option - the shrimp. It's fried with a filling and a piece or two of shrimp. It's certainly different than what you would normally expect. It was good not nothing to rave about. The tostados were good also. The Poseidon packed quite a punch. There is zero ambiance to speak of. There is a parking lot that was almost full even though there were only 2 tables occupied - must be neighbors. Overall it's good but not even close to the hype. Pass. read more

I honestly haven't had too many seafood tacos to really accurately describe this taco's buss level but these were honestly very buss. Came out piping hot super crispy and the filling was reallllly good. I kinda wish there was some more shrimp but in this economy? I understand. My only qualm is that it's super wet so by the time I finished the first taco, the second was already kinda soggy. Service was super quick and they were very nice. They let me use the restroom before I ordered when the sign said "Customers Only" W trust W ability to see I was holding in the largest dookie ever and didn't have time to order before I would've exploded. read more

We've been coming here for quite some time so this review is well overdue. First off, the famous shrimp tacos are famous for a reason, they're so good, filled to the brim and crispy! The Poseidon was also really well made, the red sauce they use on top is what really made the flavors pop. read more
This is the first Mariscos Jaliscos location I have been to. After hearing so many good things about their food truck, I decided to go to their dine in location in Pomona. I ordered Tacos Camaron (Shrimp) & Poseidon. I see why this place is so popular! Food was simply delicious! The freshly made Poseidon came with pulpo, shrimp & aguachile! Perfect balance of savory flavors with nice acidity that isn't overpowering! Make sure to add some of their in house hot salsa on this before you bite if you like it on the spicier end. Tacos Camaron were not your typical shrimp tacos where you see whole pieces shrimp on a softer tortilla. This one was more of a shrimp that was finely ground into a paste and carefully fried to crispy perfection. Great service from the worker there who had explained the menu to me! Overall ambiance is small but not overly packed. Would highly recommended giving this joint a try! read more

Yes they close at 5:30, its not in the best area. You probably wouldnt want to be down there after 5:30 but its worth the trip during the day. The shimp tacos are AWESOME!! Also love the shrimp cocktail. You wont regret it. Definitely a must.
What is inside their shrimp tacos besides shrimp?
Is this place cash only? The photo of the door shows all credit card signs and a hand written "CASH ONLY" note pasted on the door.
