    Campechana

The area is bad but ill go anywhere for good food. If you don't mind hookers and crack heads on the corner I would definitely go here for mariscos. I'm going back to try their ceviche The campechana

    Mixed molcajete

After the Pomona Swapmeet, we were craving some mariscos and came across this little joint. We ordered the mixed molcajete and 2 micheladas. The food was superb, spicy, flavorful, and yuuum-aaay. The service was really great as well. I really liked the music videos playing on the TVs, which added to the fun atmosphere. All in all, it was a great time, and we'll definitely be back!

Came in to try this place out since it's one of the only places that has menudo on a Wednesday. Service was good and it's a nice place to hang out and have a good meal. I also got 2 orders of the fish soup

This waiter is rude and has a bad attitude. She's always seems to be upset. Dont eat here . The service sucks

Camarones a la Cucaracha: Shrimp sautéed in very rich sauce. Goes well w/ Mexican Beer.

Down home, mini stripmall Mexican eatery with the emphasis on seafood from the west coast specifically from Nayarit & Jalisco. Our waitress was on top of things by coming by often & making sure that we were well provisioned. I find that many of the best tastIng & affordable eats in L.A. are found in humble strip malls so don't let the basic décor of Pacífico dissuade you from visitIng. Mainly Latino clientele which bodes well for "authenticity". The Red Salsa here is excellent w/ a rich tomato sweet acidic flavour, garlic, chopped onions, perhaps a bit of oregano. All this is left to lightly ferment to a mellow, viscous, subtly complex Umami. It pairs well to their light, crispy Totopos/corn tortilla chips. The green salsa is watery, smelling of potent, piquancy from possibly Jalapeño or Serrano chiles. Add this green salsa to the red if it isn't spicy enough. 1) Taco de Camarones: grilled shrimp, shredded cabbage, purple onion, tomato, cilantro, Crema Mexicana on two soft corn tortillas. Least exciting of the sampled tacos. 2) Taco de Pescado: Empanizado/breaded, fried. Crispy yet overcooked so the delicate white fish meat loses its subtle flavours. Still pleasant enough. Same garnish as the taco de camarones. 3) Taco al Pastor has a pleasing pork belly sensation: fatty, chewy, porky augmented by a possibly citrus and/or pineapple marinade along with a touch of sweet, fermented fruit based sauce such worchester sauce & dried chiles. 4) Taco Governador: Like a Mulita. Corn tortilla is grilled with melted light yellowish white cheese, chopped golden orange & red bell peppers and shrimp. The cheese adds a satisfying oily, dairy fermented Umami that unifies the earthy corn, sweet bell herbal, and oceanic shrimp. 5) Camarones a la Cucaracha: This bold seafood dish is listed as a Botana/snack to go along with thirst quenching, well constructed Mexican beer. These whole shrimps, heads on, are sautéed in an extra rich, salty sauce that seems sweet red chile oil based as well as having a thick brown meaty broth. Shrimp is a bit overcooked so the meat comes out dry. Shuck the shell and get to the meat, drink beer and repeat. 1-5a) Cerveza Modelo Negra: Dark beer that is mellow, smooth, at the same time refreshing and light. Good accompaniment to all the above. Overall, the comestibles at Mariscos Isla del Pacífico: 4- Yelp stars.

    Burnt Empandas De Camaron

Seriously the worst food ever !! Something my 10 yr old tried to cook They must have forgotten about my empanadas Over cooked My husband ordered the shrimp cocktail Flavorless!! It was shrimp in salt water !!

    Supreme molcajete
    Michael S.

Best molcajete in all the land! Seriously if you're craving a molcajete, come here. They pack it with some steak, chicken, fish, chorizo, nopal, regular shrimp and camaron costa Azul. For me, the main event was the sauce. Probably the best molcajete sauce I've tasted. Not that spicy and full of flavor. Dipping the tortilla in the sauce got better and better each time. We also ordered the empanadas de camaron which were very good. We will definitely be back!

    Mojarra with diabla sauce
    Rachel M.

The decor is a little date and the inside could use some revamping but the service and the food made up for all of that. I ordered the mojarra with diabla sauce. That was cooked too perfection (most places over fry it so the fish sticks to the bones). I also ordered their horchata which was very good and came in a giant cup. The husband ordered the campechana with Agua Chile's in it but he said he preferred the regular for next time. The waitress was very attentive and polite which is always a plus.

***EXCELLENT SEA FOOD*** The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it's not an attractive restaurant. What it lacks in looks it way than makes up in: 1. SERVICE: Absolutely friendly, quick, professional and attentive. Our server was lovely and kept an eye out for anything we might need. We literally didn't have to ask for anything other than what we ordered because she anticipated everything we could have wanted. 2. FOOD: I went in for a coctel de camarón but ended up getting the mojarra frita because it looked so delicious... and it was!!! My husband got the "coctelaso" which had ALL the seafood in it. Talk about generous portions... it was crammed with yumminess not like other places where you run out of shrimp long before the sauce is gone 3. LOCATION: For those of us this side of the 605 freeway it's a great compromise for Downtown Los Angeles... all the authenticity without the commute! I'm super satisfied and full but can't wait to return and try everything else! P.S. The michelada really IS the best you'll ever have... if you don't have a favorite beer try it with Dos Equis beer!!! You're welcome!

I have tried the fried shrimp and the chili cheese fries, breakfast looks promising. Need to come in the morning and try that out. Burgers are TASTY, fries have a seasoning that makes them so delicious you will not want to share (trust me it's hard) they have a special for families that includes a package deal for like five burgers, drinks & fries. A sweet deal reasonably priced. Service is fast but not too fast as the food is made FRESH. This is a family favorite for us. We always recommend this place for our burger fix. Workers are very attentive and kind. (SHOUTOUT TO ALEJANDRA & EMILY!) I appreciate how everyone greets you with a warm hello + looks like they are ready and willing to help you with your order. We're talking a generously sized wrap that actually earns the word "massive," loaded with well-seasoned chicken and ranch dressing that hits the right notes every single time. The flavor is there, the portion is there, and honestly, for the price point, it's hard to complain about what's inside the wrapper. Now for the part that's harder to overlook: the drive-through. I genuinely cannot remember the last time I got out of this place in under 30 minutes, and I'm not talking about pulling up to a packed lunch rush. One car ahead of me. Thirty minutes. There's something fundamentally broken in the operational flow here, and for a fast food establishment, that's a problem that goes beyond a bad day. It's consistent. The food deserves a 5-star review. The drive-through experience deserves a serious operational overhaul. Hopefully management takes a hard look at the system, because the wrap alone is worth coming back for, if I can ever make it to the window in time.

Back to the meal! Eager to quell the obnoxious hunger growls emanating from my stomach, I opted for this small but hopping diner's moneymaker- The Las Vegas Burger Combo. The LV Burger comes w/ lettuce, tomato, onion rings, bacon, mayo and jalapeños- I hungrily devoured it all, save for the peppers I had them withdraw. The fries are of medium thickness- Think of that middle ground between McDonald's cigarette-width fries and the (frankly, fat) steak fries that Red Robin serves. They come perfectly sprinkled w/ seasoning salt, fried to a decadent golden crisp. Pros- Kudos to the young man and woman behind the counter, both of whom visibly cleaning table tops and sweeping floors during (rare) pauses in the more or less steady drum beat of Pomonans who drop in for a meal. LV Burgers serves a battalion of "aguas frescas" to quaff even the fiercest of thirsts- Flavors incl cucumber & lime, strawberry, blueberry, horchata and a roving flavor of the day- Just ask! My sole gripe? The sinking "nickel + dimed" sensation that struck when the staff insisted on collecting an additional $0.87 for a refill of my medium Diet Pepsi. When you're charging $3.49 for a medium (16 ounces) soda that costs the proprietor, oh, around thirty cents- Don't make your dine-in customers feel insulted by charging 'em for (one) refill. In sum, this small restaurant does a lot very well. It may be named for "Sin City" and located in a decidedly working class neighborhood but it punches far above its weight!
