By chance, I happened to drive by this old shack and saw a bunch of people ordering food and in the sitting area....all latinos. I kept driving and passed other Mexican Food restaurants, no crowds, no lines on them, so I thought "that shack must be selling the good stuff" and decided to come back at the first opportunity. Fast forward a week later and here I am, a big smile on my face, belly full, fingers messy with guacamole and salsa and @#$% if these are not some of the best tacos I've eaten in Southern California! First Impression: It looks exactly like i used to remember. Location: located off the main road. Parking is small and limited. Experience: You walk up to order at the window. They offer a lot of different meats. I ordered basically everything on the menu for old times sake and every one i had was delicious. The service was quick and my food packaged neatly in foils. I have not had their tacos in decades and I am so happy to inform the public that the flavor is still the same. let me start off by saying, I am typically all about the textures when it comes to food. Mushy and soggy are textures I steer clear from and usually gross me out.. with that being said, even with the soaked (boarder line soggy) tacos - omana's taco are bomb!! This was a nostalgic location for my fiance.. reminiscing on his younger days of coming here after a night out with friends lmao. He has raved about these tacos for years, and finally we were in the right place at the right time. We got basically everything on the menu: asada, adobada, tripas, chile verde, and carnitas tacos with a chile verde burrito because i saw reviews stating its a local favorite. My favorite was definitely the tried and true asada with adobada coming in second. If you get the tripa or chile verde - eat it fast and first. The tripa got pasty and chewy and the chile verde tortillas were basically denigrating i've had better chile verde burrito in banning, but the flavor was there. overall it was a very positive experience and I will be back for more tacos in the future. read more

Gut punched to discover that Paco's Tacos had gone the way of Blockbuster Video, we arrived at Cocineros Tacos only to end up dismayed that they'd closed at 5pm. Q- Who closes a taqueria in P-town at 5pm on a F night?! Perhaps we should've pivoted to,, I don't know, Japanese after missing out on our top two choices?! We ultimately settled for Omana's and the food was so subpar it left us groaning "(You don't wanna!) Omanas!" We ordered two Asada Burritos and eight tacos, four each of cabeza and lengua. Omanas serves its burritos drowning in red salsa, so much so that even if you want to accord, say, 3 stars to the burrito, you hafta downgrade 'em because they ruined the balance of piquant Carne asada, Mexican rice, pinto beans and other fillings by avalanching it with salsa. If Omamas swamped with salsa burritos are disappointing then their tacos are a culinary trip to Saturn. Their tacos arrive individually wrapped in butcher paper. You open the paper to find two full size corn tortillas tightly wrapped around your protein choice and smothered (absolutely shellacked) with their infamous red salsa. No yummy interplay of minced cilantro, slivers of onions, cabeza, cheese-- Just full on fire hose on full blast jet of red salsa drenching the meat and the soaking wet tortillas. My son cleverly noted the textural similarities with the purported tacos that Jack in the Box sells- Both are served overly wet, flavors dominated by too much salsa. Stopped by on a weekday while in the area. Omanas' did not disappoint! What I Got: We came hungry, and left stuffed! I usually do not eat Mexican food outside of my home or the few spots that I really like, but coming here was def a good choice. Everything was delicious, the chile verde is spicy, but not too spicy that you cant handle it, the chile colorado (a dish that you do not see often) was spot on as well! Tacos perrones (flour tortilla, carne asada, green salsa, avocado, onions, and cilantro) were maybe the highlight next to the chile verde! Location: I am not too familiar with Pomona in general, but this location is off of Holt. The building is a little older, but do not let this deter you. Parking is in the back of the restaurant, in front of the restaurant, and along the sides. The seating area was closed due to COVID, but it looked like there were plenty of tables there to dine once it opens up again. This place is legit. Essentially all the customers spoke Spanish while waiting in line so you know you're in for some authentic food. My friend and I were coming back late from a convention in Ontario when we realized that we didn't eat dinner. This place popped up near our Airbnb so we drove on over to check it out. The menu is very simple. They offer a large array of tacos with all kinds of meats such as Carne Asada and Carnitas, as well as more exotic cuts like Lengua, Buches etc. I ordered two Tacos Perones, which I guess translates to super fancy tacos and I asked the cashier to surprise me. A few moments later I picked up my order at the window and ate them outside their shop. They have some benches and tables for people to eat. I took a bite out of the taco and boy it was pretty amazing. My friend and I were tempted to eat here the following days but unfortunately they close at 8 pm, which was earlier than when we expected to get back.
