Taco Tuesday + Cinco de Mayo felt like the perfect excuse to grab tacos before a business meeting. We arrived to the area early and wanted something quick, and Tijuana Tacos was perfect for that bc the tacos came out quickly. Parking is limited, so we were happy to snag one of the last spots. This is an order-at-the-counter spot with a salsa bar, hot beans, indoor and outdoor seating, and even Mexican Coke. Indoor seating is also pretty limited, so my friend and I were glad to grab one of the small tables. I ordered the lengua and asada tacos and both were flavorful, tender, and loaded with meat. I was honestly too hungry and eager to take a picture beforehand, but I can assure you the portions are plentiful. The tacos were a little greasy, but still really satisfying. This is our first time back here in years. We came on a Monday afternoon. My partner was excited to get a burrito again. I got a Vampira de Asada and couple tacos. Parking is a little tight. There's only a few spots in the plaza, but there is a lot of street parking. It only took about 5 to 10 minutes to get our food, so not a long way at all. There was a fill your own salsa bar and they had free beans. Overall, food was good and price was decent, considering inflation. The salsa weren't extremely spicy and the service was quick. Second time here last night. We had our whole house gas shut off for 24 hrs and we just wanted to have hot food that wasn't microwaveable. Tijuanas tacos to the rescue! I ordered the Taco Loco like last time and my husband ordered a mulita al pastor. You can get free pinto beans on the side and the salsa bar is great! This is my second time coming back to this location because the first time it was so good. They really hook it up on the quantity of food here. The pricing is similar to everyone else but they give you like double the quantity! So that alone means extra points in my book because the service was great plus they serve you hearty servings! I really love how they have a pot of beans with beef as a free appetizer side while you wait for your meal. All the salsa are excellent you have super spicy all the way down to the green salsa which is not spicy. I was stuck in traffic and ordered online. I arrived at a little past 6PM. It was sad. The taco spot that I used to like had an empty parking lot. Once inside, there was no customer there. The carne asada tacos were just as delicious as the ones in Tijuana, Mexico... The taquero, Javi, was were welcoming... Additionally, the grilled nopales, onions and jalapeños were a surprise to me, which were included with the tacos at no cost... I've been coming here for years and it's still pretty great. Parking can be hard to find since it's small and in a busy place. They have three tables inside and a outside table. The also have specialty tacos along with the basic original style. They have burritos, vampiros, mulitas, and tortas. Basic tacos are $2.89 each. Tripas, lengua, birria, and suadero are $3.19. I usually get suadero, tripas, and cabeza. They have a pot of beans and bacon near the sauce table. Their agua de Jamaica is not too sweet or watered down. They fill the tacos with a good amount with guacamole, onions, and cilantro. The staff is nice. read more

Had my first experience at this location on a Monday night for dinner and boy did it take a good while for our food to be ready. There was at least ten other customers with just one person cooking and one person manning the register. Not a great combination if you are hungry. I ordered the Chile Burrito which comes with carne asada, chorizo, cheese, guacamole, peppers, rice, onions, and cilantro. The chorizo completely overwhelmed the taste of the carne asada and the whole thing was pretty oily. Their salsa bar did have some good options and you can grab a cup for their stewed beans which were surprisingly savory with bits of meat and layers of fat. As mentioned, the line and wait got pretty long but perhaps they were expecting a slower day. A decent number of parking spots are available outside the restaurant if you want to try this place out, but it was pretty middle of the pack in terms of food and experience. read more

It was Friday night and I find myself in Tijuana, which is confusing because I have no recollection of how I got here. Was I in an alternate universe where my timeline stopped when I was eighteen? What was even more confusing was that it didn't look like Tijuana. I mean, where were the soldiers on leave, where were the ladies of the night and where were all the drunks? Returning from what I can only assume was a stroke or an alcohol induced psychosis I realized, "You're not in Tijuana dummy, it's just Pomona." And while there are no soldiers or ladies of the night, at least not within a 100 feet of me, there is that Tijuana smell. The smell of Al pastor married with onions and cilantro. Luckily for me the only Tijuana I was at tonight was Tijuana Tacos. And while most people go with the carne asada when they come here, you'd be missing out on some of the best Al pastor this side of Southern California if you didn't indulge in this unholy meat. And if you have a Tijuana sized appetite you could do much worse than ordering their nachos in addition to your tacos. Not only is it delicious, because how do you mess up nachos, but they use that liquid nacho cheese instead of just shredded cheese. Little guilty pleasures like this is what makes life not only worth living but bearable. I scarfed down my tacos and nachos and was starting to feel like I do when I go to Tijuana. Quesabirrias de Carne Asada are absolutely the best tasting. Found this place by mistake today. 34 years ago I use to go to party in the streets of Tijuana, Mexico with my buddies. We use to eat 6 tacos for $1.00. Yes, $100.! This place brought me back there with these delicious steet tacos. I ordered only two with a coke because my friend and I were on our way to a celebration of life and had not ate anything all day. Later on in the evening right after the celebration of life ended we had an event to also attend in the STAPLES Center. Afterward we drove back to TIJUANA'S TACOS for 30 minutes to eat these tacos again. These Birria Tacos with cheese is so good. I wish they had a cup of consume to dip these in as a side. They do however offer free bean and sausage soup where they had the salsa bar! Always my go to spot for late night tacos- the cashier & cooks there are always so welcoming even when I stop by near their closing time when I get off work late. They are super generous with the portions & each taco feels like I'm eating two. On the side, every single option for their salsa has flavor and is spicy unlike some places that say their sauces are spicy but aren't which is a major reason I love this place. I did like the charro beans they offer though. I bought 2 aguas frescas, and ordered 13 tacos but they sold me 12 only. They also gave me 2 lengua tacos instead of cabeza. Called to complain and they offered two free tacos on my next visit. Appreciate them making an effort in making things right. They also took long to have my order ready because they had ran out of cabeza but they prepared all the other tacos de asada & pastor, & I think that's why they weren't great because they were already cold and taste dry not freshly done.
